Taking damge using super jump
You don't take damage when dropping from the height of Super Jump, you take damage when dropping from a height much greater than the height you can jump. This is fairly normal, as you should obviously be able to land from as high as you can jump, but I don't see any particular reason to explain why you can drop half a mile (easily achievable) and not take a scratch.

Sam pretty well covered it.
If I SJ from the top of the Giza, I'd better be taking damage.
yes that is understandable but then the same can be said that if i use superspeed and then run into a wall i should take damge for hitting a wall at 80 mph or the same with fly and run into a building but we dont in the game. Im not sure though if you are getting my point

I think we get your point plenty well. You think that Super Jump should make you immune to falling damage. I don't really agree with that, mainly because I agree with the logical implementation in game: you can fall slightly further than you can jump without taking falling damage. If you're jumping way higher than you can actually jump, you should still take falling damage. Just because you know how to resist the damage jumping/falling such and such height, doesn't meant that you are capable of resisting the damage from twice the height.
If you really want to avoid falling damage while you're traipsing about, just end the arc of the jump slightly earlier. You still move forward at the exact same speed no matter what portion of the jump arc you're in, so it's not slowing you down. Of course, this is if you even think that falling damage is an issue. I barely notice it, if I even do. It's almost nothing to a high level character.

Based on this and what the others have said it sounds like taking damage when falling from a high height with SJ on is -not- the problem here. The real problem sounds like people -not- taking damage from running into walls with SS on. The Devs should be adding taking damage from SS impacts ASAP.

Well I have to think it'd make more sense from a "realism" point of view.
Smacking a wall at 80mph is likely going to hurt most people who aren't like stone tanks or some-such.

How about removing the fall damge from Super Jump it is kind of silly to take damge like you do when you fall from a high point when using super jump. And on a side note please add a sound effect to drain psyche in the MM set.

Frankly, I think if you take super jump or even super strength without invulnerability, you should kill yourself doing just about anything.

Termanal velosity while falling is quite a bit faster than running SS. While this may not be reflected in game, in reality, falling from a great height will cause a greater impact than running at 80mph.

We get your point, we just disagree. As for your running and flying examples, this is powered movement under your complete control at all times. We can just assume you slow down at the last moment, rather than running into the wall at full speed.
If you are now going to say that you SHOULD be able to smack the wall at full speed and take damage, you're just being silly. By that reasoning, your assault rifle blaster should be able to put a bullet in his own head or shoot himself in the leg. If you want to take damage from flying, fly up high and turn it off.

The thing that gets me with SJ is that if I turn it on and run down the bridge from the center of Cape I take falling damage even walking downhill. That is hardly the max of SJ, you take damage from a fall from any height that wasn't achieved by SJ.
So if you make a half size jump and drop down a little further than you started you take damage. Real thing is though in this game unless you fall off a skyscrapper the damage is so minor it isn't worth the effort to worry about.

Go with the silly! I envision collsions while superspeeding or flying resulting in a loud *BONK !* noise, staggering or floating backwards, and a stun animation.

I would assume that any being capable of partaking in acts of super human potential also has the capability to withstand their own abilities. As such, some level of invulnerability or at least enhanced durability would be a co-requisite if not a prerequisite to super human abilities.

Fall damage remains the same as you level up. It does not scale to your level. So, as you increase in level and Hit Points the falls will become less and less substantial to you. Just keep leveling and you'll get what you desire.

Question: Has anyone ever died from falling?
I know I've gone all the way down to 1 health before, but never died.
Unless of course I fell into a mob of baddies. Then that was death instantly, but that wasn't in the OP. This was just about receiving damage from falling.
I think the damage should stay, quit whining.

The game mechanics prevent you from dying from fall damage. Now if you fall really far into a bunch of guys that con purple... well, it would LOOK like you died from the fall.
