Paragon City *can't* be in Rhode Island!

It's true!

Because there isn't a state named Rhode Island.

Not yet, anyway.

Behold the lovely State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations!

Or so the state is formally named, at least until legislation to shorten it clears the state house.

Weird, huh?

... Dude, you didn't know this?

It was the smallest state with the biggest name.

I was raised in a country that is further away from Rhode Island than outer space and yet I fricking know that.

And Australia is technically the Commonwealth of Australia, but I think most of the people who live here don't know that.

What's bigger, Kuwait or Rhode Island?

Canberra, but London is far more populous.

I cheated. I also was fooled by wiki's inconsistent formatting. London is larger. Not that the other way would surprise me, population and city size don't have a direct correlation.

Australian cities tend to be insanely spread out. Adelaide has 1 million people, but is the size of Los Angeles.

lolAdelaide.

Well, they do have a lot of area to spread out to. Canberra, for instance, is about the same population as Victoria (where I am, in Canada, not Victoria the state in Australia) but insanely more spread out, because Victoria is at the bottom end of an island, and there's not a lot of places to expand to here.

At least we have trees.

Seriously, from the top of a hill the whole damn city looks like a forest with buildings poking out. Tall, snobby and living in trees, we're clearly Australian Elves.

IF Adelaide is a Vale of elves, what does that make Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane?

Just out of curiosity.

Actually, it can't be in Rhode Island. Because if it really WAS in Rhode Island, you'd be OUT of Rhode Island after taking three steps.

It can't be Rhode Island because of the geography. In Paragon City you have Ocean to the north. I'm not seeing anyplace in the state that would fit the same geography.

Another trick question.

If you start in Detroit and go due south, what is the first other country you will hit?

Maybe some of the past super-villain activities just screwed up the magnetic fields in Paragon. Last time I checked, the moon rose in the "north" over Paragon Sity and set in the "south"...

Depends very much on the definitions used.

The City of London is actually tiny, 1.12 square miles, with a population of 8000 or so. The London metropolitan area is of course very much larger than that
