1: We don't know when the next one is. One has not been announced.
2: It's uncertain if there really is a NEED for double-XP weekends anymore. What with patrol XP, XP curve smoothing, etc, the only way you're NOT making XP hand over fist NOW is just NEVER playing.
3: Ignore the people screaming "Learn to search!". They have a point, unfortunately, instead of trying to be helpful anyhow, they decided to just rag on you. Essentially they have nothing better to do that forum-pvp and it's not worth the effort of responding.

I believe 2XP does not apply to patrol experience. I'd have to Wiki or verify this on the forums though.
I took the time to look up the last 2XP weekends in Wiki, because the poster's question, while somewhat redundant, did have some legitimacy.

Generally the trend was to have one early in the year and one in the middle of the year.
There may be something fighting against that this year though. The massive multi-levelling brouhaha of Mission Architect, Issue 15 being launched "soon" and just generally faster levelling speeds altogether.
As a previous poster added, they now need to know whether it applies to regular OR Architect Content or both. My bet is only regular missions. The Devs have been known to be crazy at times though, so 2XP in MA might happen.
Of course, I could also stumble upon Johnny Depp on my way downtown this week.

The way I see it, aside from the direct effect of speeding up levelling, there's a publicity function in double XP weekends.
It encourages existing loyal players to play more, and creates a sort of festive atmosphere. It entices previous players to come back to the game. It creates activity and buzz.
So I predict we'll continue to see double XP weekends in the future. When they might be, though...that's anyone's guess. I'm guessing we'll see one somewhen after the launch of the next issue - between Issue 15 and 16.
But that's just a guess.

Well, Patrol XP provides more universal access to people (on their schedules) than a DXPW does.
Granted, with Patrol XP, you can't graft your backside to a chair for 48-72 hours and pull it the entire time. But this is merely another way of saying Patrol XP is easier on casual players.

Yes, as you noted, Patrol XP is disabled only during the double XP weekend. This is the sole exception for Patrol XP being universally available.

That's a big fat 10-4 good buddy. And since you can pick up and use your Patrol XP whenever you have it, ask yourself if not having that extra .5 is REALLY hurting you.

It's also a great time for load testing the servers (probably not something they wanna do until they fix some of the instabilities from the last patch.
