5 million for a circuit board

Yes, that's what I paid. Just another humorous little story to lighten up the day....

I was bidding on a recipe. I wasn't that concerned about the level, as long as it was above a certain threshold. So I bid five million on it. Would wait to see if it took, then cancel and try the next level. I kept bouncing around like that until I finally got it for five mil. It needed a circuit board or some other silly common salvage. They were going for anywhere between 2K and 5K, so I figured I'd just bid 5000 and be done with it.

You can see where this is going, right?

After hitting 5000000 so many times, when I went to type 5000, my finger just added on the extra three zeros. As my finger was speeding towards the Enter key, my mind started to balk, but I couldn't stop the action in time. I actually cried out "Nooooooooo" while I was depressing the key. ROFL.

I got the salvage with no problem.

I decided to just grin and bear it and be happy that I made someone else VERY happy.

Why wasn't I selling one to get that?

I paid 200K for a circuit board this morning, and it wasn't even an accident. I just happened to need one for a recipe at a time when the going price was at one of its peaks, and I didn't feel like waiting. I did try a couple of lower bids... 20K and 50K... and they were all sold out. So I finally said 'to heck with it' and went to 200K.

But 5M? Yeah, that's a lot. Hope that circuit board came with a coupon for a free pizza or something.

Probablly just as bad as trying to list a selling price but acutally typing it in the bidding price box. I still make that mistake sometimes as well as typing extra digits

I bought a couple of "worthless" uncommons last week (last 5 under vendor) for 1,111,111 each. But that was tequila euphoria pricing.

Someone bought a common salvage off me for 1 mill yesterday. All the bids were at 10k, so it was an obvious finger slip. I was just lucky enough to be the one with the lowest priced piece.

Note to self: Vend more "worthless" salvage; cross fingers.

Karma is good. Karma works. I decided to just be happy that I made someone else's day and when I checked the market on my lowly VEAT, I saw that all the common salvage I put on the market had sold for anywhere between 5K and 6K each. Except for one common piece, which sold for 6 million.

If any of you accidently spent 6mil on a piece of common salvage... thank you. You made my day, so feel good about it. Karma will bring it back to you again.

I had similar thing happen to me. But mine was LVL 40 End reduct IO's on BM. I watched them sell for 700-800K. I listed 8 of em for 400k each. I checked back a little later and found that 7 of them sold for 400-700k but 1 sold for 7mil. To whoever that was I thank you.

Circuit boards are now going for 250,000 and there are only 7 left in the entire market. (With over 2000 bids) Very strange. Is someone bulk-buying and hoarding / slow releasing to artificially increase demand & price?

I saw a Nevermelting ice go for 80mil on the BM last night.

3 extra 0's FTL.

i typed an extra 2 zeros on 200,000 once... man i was pissed for a second... but then oh well although I wish there was a non-exploitable confirm button on trades... maybe you can even customize the level... like all trades over 1,000,000 need confirm... less than that just be accurate and deal...

I saw another Circuit Board go for 5M!?! Nevermelting ice for 80M???

Um ... the AE vendor sells random common slavage for a whooping 8 AE tickets. I can get Nevermelting ice in seconds. Guess its back to the basics if I can make 80M inf for 8 AE tickets! LOLL

Most recent bid on an Obliteration recipe was 9,500,000. So I bid 9,555,555. Or so I thought. Ended up being 95,555,555. I had to laugh. The first thing I thought of was this thread.

Maybe this thread has increased the Bling Factor for owning Circuit Boards?... I dunno. Blueside this morning there were only maybe a half dozen for sale, with thousands of bids and prices sky-high.

Minute to minute, the market is wierd. But over time, everything works out.

I did the opposite the other day. I was bidding 3 million for something, but accidentally typed the figure into something I was going to list. The item I was going to list just happened to be a LotG 7.5... which then sold for 40 million. Well below what I had intended to list it for.

Thank you, Champion.

In all seriousness, though, the recent salvage shortage is driving prices for things like circuit boards through the roof. While 5 mil is still high, I've seen 'em going for 5000, 50000, etc. It's getting crazy out there, simply because salvage drops are limited by level.

Guess Ouroboros is gonna be the path to lowbie salvage for the time being.

What about AE? You can get tickets and buy lowbie salvage in whatever area you like and make a kill...I mean help shore up the supply. Oro is great for running merits, but if it's strictly salvage you want, AE is where it's at.

anybody who wants can buy lowbie salvage with tickets, whatever level they are.

if they aren't doing it, it's because the "crazy" prices for low level salvage still haven't made it an efficient way to spend tickets.

It's actually not bad because salvage is cheap to buy with tickets - but it's quite tedious to list the results because you end up with stacks of 3 and 4 spread across the different types. Usually I do a little of this and then say "Screw it, I'm buying recipes with the rest."
