Riiight ... Screw the dictionary.

Kinky!

There is already a precedent set for NCSoft using its own terms beyond the terms found in the dictionary:

Farm, as just one example.

I'm slightly amused now. Pray tell, what do you think their definition for petition is?

The one that they gave themselves that you quoted?

but you may not create a ‘petition’ for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed.

[/ QUOTE ]

So, Petition: A thread created for people to "sign", causing bumping to keep the thread at the top of the forums.

Nothing to sign here, no request to "bump" anything, hence no petition. I don't even request that the people link back to THIS thread, just to an image. Heck, if anything, the only bumping around here are you and me having this conversation, so thank you.

Th hating on this thread is ridiculous. He's asking for another chest symbol, for more costume options, and being polite and slightly humorous about it.

In the spirit of the OP, I'd personally like Jay to do whatever it takes so that the actual image used (with the thumbs up hand and all)can be added to my toons chest.

According to that section, a petition is bumping in disguise.
Petition != Bumping, bumping is caused by posting a petition.

I've seen threads that campaign, or petition for a change, such as you've posted get locked .... Such as this or this.

The reason that rule is worded like that is because someone can come in here and post /sign. Bumping is the side effect of posting a petition.

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, he's the one who got me hooked on FF. This has nothing to do with it though, but I'll yield, and let higher powers decide.

It'll be entertaining to see what happens to this in the morning, if there's anything left to see then.

<_< First off, both those links lead to the same thread for me.

And in said thread, someone pointed out in particular it was asking for responses in agreement, which was followed by many /Signeds or a few /unsigneds.

So... It matches the description already laid out.

In other words, this thread is fine and funny.

Folo, Here is the thing:

*1. You are using an overly broad definition of the term petition.
Your definition of petition says that [u]No One[u], can [u]Ever[u], post a suggestion,
because someone [u]Could[u] come into the thread and /sign it.

*You completely disregard the rest of the dev definition, which
clearly defines the terms petition, and lobby, and which
clearly states that we ARE allowed to make suggestions, and discuss them.

There is a difference between 'petitioning' (asking), and
creating or forming a 'petition' (a 'document' or thread, for many to sign)

I repeat here the quote you posted of the devs rule.
(words in parentheses() are my comments.)
[ QUOTE ]

Do not create threads/posts to “petition” or “Lobby” for game features, additions, changes, or other issues.
(definitions of these terms below.)
.
You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards,
.
(definition of petition here) but you may not create a ‘petition’ for others to sign.
This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed. (The bumping is from asking for /signs)
.
(definition of Lobbying here) Lobbying is continually bringing up the same topic repeatedly in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in official threads to get developer attention. This form of posting is not permitted.

[/ QUOTE ]

PK made a suggestion.

He did not ask us to post "agree" posts or "/sign" posts.
So he did Not form a petition. Yes, he was riding close to the edge, but
he actually indicated he would prefer we did not /sign his suggestion.

Other than the misinterpretation between 'petitioning', and 'creating a petition',
most of us were just [u]discussing[u] a [u]suggestion[u], both of which ARE allowed.
.

Sorry I got the rules committee knocking on the door, dude. I was mostly joking when I mentioned the "breech." Mostly because you are a prolific suggestor... I deliberately misspelled rules too so that it would appear less serious.

Wow, gots us some serious ones round these parts, a'yuh.

Hmm... perhaps I should take a few of those out...

There you go, I took out like half of them.

And why not post again in the same thread? Two reasons:

<ul type="square">[*]Because I'm a special and unique snowflake, and[*]Because then you couldn't have an entertaining REVOLUTION![/list]
Like, for example *looks at the sig above me* A big red ball, perhaps?

[/ QUOTE ]
It's much less distracting now... probably aided by the fact that I'm not as sleepy as when I wrote the other posts.

As for the big red ball "revolution", I take it you never actually clicked on the link in my sig.

1) There's a Suggestions forum. Suggestions go there. I'm surprised some moderator hasn't moved the thread already.

2) /jranger. What you want is not a chest symbol. What you want is a chest texture, like the various Emblem patterns, so that you can put a chest symbol on top of it, if you want. Or if you want to swing for the bleachers, both, going in opposite directions (chest pattern bar sinister, chest symbol bar dexter) so you can make the "No 'saying no' symbol).

Wrong. It is. Someone above suggested having it added as something that you would put on TOP of another symbol, but I never suggested any such thing. I want the NO Symbol as a symbol by itself. Nice attempt at putting words in my mouth though.

The first comment however may be applicable, but that's for the higher powers to decide.

Why do you want a circle with a slash through it, but nothing under it? No breathing?

Okay, that made me laugh. And spit out the water I was drinking.

Why? Because it's generic and just means "no". Anything that generic can be used along with the character name and story to mean "no" to ANYTHING that you want. That's why.

When I was in college, I was in a frat, and the guys loved nothing more than to put in the original Super Smash Brothers and play for literally HOURS. They even got me into it, and I don't generally play "cutesy games". Well every time I would play I'd play Jiggly Puff, because he like NEVER falls, EVER.

You can hit that sucker a thousand times and he still keeps going with that magical ability to fly. I sure didn't win, cause I couldn't hit anyone worth a crap, but all the frat guys knew.... "he's gonna pick Wiggly Nuts", cause that's what I called him.
