Say YES to NO!

So I'm looking around for a cheese chest symbol for my new character the "Cheddar Monk" (inspired by Darths and Droids, look it up, it's hilarious ) when I'm reminded of something that I noticed over a year ago.

We have available to us dozens if not hundreds of chest symbol options, we have every letter , every number , every GREEK letter, [u]FOURTEEN types of "Star"s.... [u]

.... but where's the simple No Symbol? It seems like an ovious and approopriate choice; I noticed this huge flaw over a year ago and requested it in the appropriate thread, but nothing happened!

So, I am now beginning a campaign, the "Say 'YES' to NO!" Campaign!

We will ask, beg and plead for Sexy Jay to add the simple International No Symbol to the "City of" chest detail options.

If you would like to join our campaign, simply add this image to your signature as a link (tinyURL included for your convenience - http://tinyurl.com/yestono ), using for the text "Say YES to NO, Sexy Jay!". If you're not sure how much space you have left in your signature, you could always use FOE to determine it.

If you are against us, simply do nothing, because if you try to say No to us, you will in fact be SUPPORTING us! That's right!

So, PLEASE, join me in my campaign to Say YES to NO!

Together, we can change the WORLD....

...of this game.

This post made FABULOUS with CoH FOE![/b]

This might be more effective if we had signature images.

Or more annoying. I think of this more like benevolent protesting. With a small link in your signature, it's not really interfering with the forum's activities.

Sometimes I wonder if you could be any more of a sterotype. And then I kick myself because the answer is always no.

And on topic, sure. More symbols for everyone. But it'll end up being the 6 year vet reward. Look how popular the Greek symbols were.

Ooo. I like this idea.

I have no idea what kind of character I would have use it. But just like the "recycle" and "trash" chest pieces, I will find a way!

*strikes a heroic pose*

My original inspiration for having the symbol added was my character that was Egon from the Ghostbuster's Son, who inherited "Ghost zapping gloves" (the giant cyborg gloves) after Egon died. To my dismay, there was no NO symbol!

And I don't see why. It's a VERY common, international system that is free, open to the public, and most importantly VERY simple and iconic. I really see no reason for it to NOT be there.

If there had been any more color or smileys in the OP, I think I would have exploded. Also, a minor nitpick: I thought it was against the forum rools (hehe) to do a topic like this or to "lobby" for a particular change.

Regardless: I like more options! So, bring on the NO!

It is not a "lobby". From the rules:
[ QUOTE ]

Do not create threads/posts to “petition” or “Lobby” for game features, additions, changes, or other issues. You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards, but you may not create a ‘petition’ for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed. Lobbying is continually bringing up the same topic repeatedly in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in official threads to get developer attention. This form of posting is not permitted.

[/ QUOTE ]

As long as I don't engage in bumping this thread or bring up the topic in other threads, it's allowed. And signatures don't count as "bringing it up in other threads" because if it did, most of our signatures would have to be bare to follow the rule.

And there is no petition here either, I don't expect anyone to "sign" this thread. Just add something to their sig.

Well, Heck... I see your problem here...
But, . . .
Here's the thing:

A simple "No symbol"?
I rate that 3 on a scale of 10.

Yes, I would use it. But it is just OK.

But for a Home Run, 10 out of 10, No symbol ....
You have to be able to use SOME symbol. (anything), and then
the ability to paste the "NO symbol" over the top of the other symbol

You need to be able to say 'No Smoking','no Drama','No A-Bombs','No Hea10rz', etc.
So you need the ability to overlay 2 symbols, or something, or it is kind of a lead balloon type of idea.

So, I guess what I am saying, is:
A simple No Symbol is better than NO No Symbol, but just barely.

But a No something symbol, THAT would be da Bomb!
(unless, of course, there was a NO Bombs symbol sign in the area.)

.

Word games. It smells like a petition, quacks like a petition.....

By the way, not everybody gets the Greek letters. Those are a vet reward. (Only six months, but still, not everyone can get them.)

Petition:

This is bumping in disguise

So where's the thread bumping in using signatures? The whole point against petitions is to prevent thread bumping. The whole point of the rules is to prevent forum chaos. Adding a single link into your signature will NOT cause forum chaos.

It's an amusing idea, although I'm not sure I'd personally ever use it.

Have you put it in the costume request thread (you know, that place where you're supposed to do things like this) already?

I don't know, did you read the part of the OP where I said I did?

[/ QUOTE ]
No, I was distracted by all of the bright yellow emoticons and skimmed.

Mostly, it was a comment that if you're unhappy about it not being put in already, you can always make another post there instead of here.

Hmm... perhaps I should take a few of those out...

There you go, I took out like half of them.

And why not post again in the same thread? Two reasons:

<ul type="square">[*]Because I'm a special and unique snowflake, and[*]Because then you couldn't have an entertaining REVOLUTION![/list]
Like, for example *looks at the sig above me* A big red ball, perhaps?

You probably shouldn't try to use outside definitions when the moderators have already created and explained their OWN definition. I'm pretty sure that they'll use their own definition over the one that you pull from another source.

Why so much hate against "No"? I don't get it...
