What the hell is a "catgirl"
because they are so common in comic books I don't mind having them around.
What a dumb thing to complain about.
Its like going into a fantasy game and complaining about the fact that there are all these Gnomes all over the place.
People who get so worked up about it that they kick people from their team for having cat ears, have some kind of psychological problem.
Maybe a cat bit them when they were toddlers or something.
You're my new best friend, Siolfir.
Though in retrospect, If I wanted to create something to keep the catgirl population in check, I probably should have made something a bit more canine then rodent. Oh well, he's still fun to play.

I wanted to make an /SR scrapper to solo AVs with, and having already tried out Martial Arts and Broadsword, wanted another thematic pairing with /SR. I settled on claws as "feeling fast like someone with super reflexes might be", and then decided that a cat-theme would be a good concept for Claws/SR.
Only later did I find out about the reputation of catgirls, and even though I wasn't on Virtue or even RPing at all, I'm too embarrassed to play lvl 50 Claws/SR on teams anymore, even if she can solo pretty much any AV that's not hugely lethal resistant or has auto-hitting attacks. *sigh* I should just stick with cyborgs and wizards and such.

This just seems sad. You would let someone else's perception and prejudice stand in the way of having fun the way you want? I don't, because I have many catgirls. Granted, Virtue is not my main server, but I do have one catgirl there so far, out of 2 characters on Virtue. If anyone wants to try to stick a label on me and assume things about me that are not true, then that is their problem, not mine. I can only hope that the experience that my 48 month vet status brings to a team can disavow them of their foolish notions. Like the person back on page six who said he kicks them from his team automatically. His loss.
I've teamed with mousegirls. It was hilarious, especially in the sewers.
I was playing a ghost girl myself, soooo...
<-- My only cat-like girl. She has a balancing tail as part of her mutation and she wears the ears and makeup as part of her not-so-secret identity.
I've never had anyone question her about being a catgirl. In fact it has never really come up except for maybe a couple of cat nap jokes. The idea of filtering team members by their costumes seems mighty strange to me.
I have two catgirls, both done for concept reasons, and a ratgirl, made simply to be different from all the kitties and empaths during the Mac Open Beta. I rarely get comments about it unless I bring it up, usually when I'm on the rat and making a comment about the team's catgirl. The only I can remember was when one of my cats got recruited to a team the leader said they needed a "feline touch". If people want to stereotype me based on those three characters... well, that's their fault.

Heh. I have 4 catgirls that are parody characters of various types: one is a cat familiar who was magically turned human that complains about having to do more than sleep all day (Midnight's Eclipse, DM/Nin Stalker; attempt to poke fun of the furry crowd in desc due to the reason why she was changed), one was bitten by a radioactive catgirl and gained the powers and abilities of one (Bad Cliche, DM/EA Brute; she has multiple other origin cliches in her desc), one was born to a cat that had medical experiments done on it prior to escaping who only speaks in different cat noises (which I have macros for) based on mood or reaction and is only a hero because she followed a Plant/Thermal Controller to Hero Registration because she smelled like catnip (Niao, Claws/WP Scrapper; making fun of the "mewmewmew" catgirl crowd), and then there's Token Catgirl - my only one off of Infinity - who was mentioned above.
I've also got Mall Rat, a DB/WP Stalker (teen b)ratgirl, and Little Bunny Pew Pew, a bunnygirl Mind/Energy Dominator created to abuse the /Energy revamp making it a decent ranged set once i15 hits. I still can't believe that neither of those names was taken on Infinity.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

Due to this thread, I believe all my new characters will be catgirls.

i will label, nekoneko-san
i will label you as a person who plays catgirls
any assumptions i make from there can hardly be to my detriment
I have to admit, Little Bunny Pew Pew is an incredible name.
I have a female werewolf. Who is also a female wrester. Her bodyfriend is also a werewolf, and also a wrestler, so when he escaped from prison (long story) she went with him.
No catgirls, though.
I play entirely too many felines.
On Virtue alone, out of 16 characters I have there (and believe me, there's more on other servers), eleven are felines of some form or other, including two of my three level 50s.
Of those, four are male.
And none of them really acts like the catgirl stereotype.
But it's really the wolf who has the more interesting story, considering that she's ex-5th Column, was supposed to be infused with a Nictus but resisted to the point that she just ended up a WarWolf instead, and eventually bonded with a reformed Nictus and became a WarShade.
War Cat, EarthShade, BrightShard, Chakat Streak, Chakamil Silverspot, Mindora, Diabolesse, Jasper Baen
KGBSS8: Agent Ravage, Pestilence Girl, Umbral Claw, Howlback, Dr. Glit
Young Phalanx: Necril, Blazing Witch
Mage: The Ascension FTW! Catgirls FTL!

How about a cat-girl as a result of a plastic surgery horror?

IIRC, that's just the result of too many facelifts. If you're looking for plastic surgery examples, then you want Stalking Cat (more pictures on his site here).

Wut.
No, seriously, that's far more random than the vast majority of my posts.
i can't believe this thread is still going.
How about "derailing" it into a discussion of what AT's and powersets best fit into the catgirl concept? At least then it'll be appropriate for the Archetypes & Powers forum.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...

In Exalted, there's no such thing as impossible; merely varying degrees of awesome.

Not only has the Legion of Catgirls been around for over five years, we have at least one chapter on each server, with six on Guardian. That's not counting villain groups or more-specifically themed groups that don't carry the Legion name. Our website and global channel keep us all in constant contact.
I have been a Legion member for five years and currently have twenty-five catgirl characters across four servers. Only two have Claws, none live in Pocket D, and their costumes tend to be conservative.
I favor the independent nature of cats, and play more aloof than salacious. Anyone who avoids playing a catgirl because of their supposedly bad reputation should consider trying to change that by setting a good example instead.
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

[/ QUOTE ]Void Avatar Prana is a typo, and Zeal is actually entirely appropriate to the First Age (and it's found in the Dreams of the First Age book - surprise!); I'd imagine Zeal has been forgotten in the Age of Sorrows.

I have one catgirl character, mostly as a joke. I just couldn't pass up such an awesome name.
There are some catgirl characters whose players really do fit the stereotype of giggly little girls, or creepy cosplayers, but there are also some players who have one just because they think the whole idea is funny, like myself and yuri.
[/ QUOTE ]
I just thought that a catgirl would be a fitting form for a superspeeding ElecMelee/ElecArmor Brute named Kathode.
Interestingly long after I played her to 50 I came across other catgirls with the same build. They're all so small though, making her look like a giant at 5'9" when seen next to her.
I think Kat-tastrophy was invited to the Legion of Catgirls as an honorary catgirl once. I was already going to join another group with him at the time though...
That was, like, 4 years ago, I think.
There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"
<QR>
Well, after seeing this thread and realizing something was missing on Guardian I made Token Catgirl, who became an Arachnos Widow through working the system using the same affirmative action program that allowed males in.
