AE says.... WHAT???
Oh jeez. And here is another one. Whoopdeedoo. T_T

So I recently decided to roll a new toon. I'm not one for PL'ing or Farming (but that's my choice).
Here's my problem...
Say in broadcast "lvl 13 LFT" get an invite from a lvl 15 who goes on to form a team. Invites a lvl 11, 9, 2, 25, 30 and another 30. Ummmm how's this going to work?
Oh, they say, we're gonna do a lvl 40 AE farm.
AE says WHAT?? How can this work? No stamina, no travel powers (aside from purchased jetpack and earned ones from Mayhem missions), and limited attacks. And we're supposed to fight a Boss Farm?
MA could not have been intended for this. Shouldn't teams be formed within lvl range with enemies around the same levels? I don't understand.
So here I am, playing an MMO solo. That kinda stinks because the whole point of MMO is teaming up. If I wanted to solo through levels I could just play something on PS.
I know there are going to be those who are going to tell me to do just that, but I just wanted to voice my confusion about AE.
Hopefully this is getting a serious review by the Devs. I know they're fixing some of the things with the new issue, but.......... time will tell.

You haven't really been paying attention for the last month or so have you?
Just find out what farm it is and report it as such. Then look in the various global channels to find a regular team.
You obviously missed Meow farms. With those, a bunch of newbies with terrible builds could get to 50 in a matter of hours.
It's darkly satisfying to watch a bunch of farmers run into the latest Meow-wannabe and get slaughtered.
If you want to get a real team, try asking in your server forum about getting on global channels, learn to use the Find Member function, and get the hell outta Atlas.
Two points -
1. As far as the levels, I don't know if you have been paying attention or not, but it will do some auto-SKing and such to at least the minimum level of the mission. Now, yeah, that spread... er... yeah... but it will do that.
2. You can solo, sure - but as you're doing so, and finding PUGs to play with, etc. start watching for other players who play like you do, don't want to deal with that much AE or whatever, and put them on your friends list. Get them together and form a SG, or join theirs. Go down to the server forums and say you're looking for a non-AE, mission group. Check the SG recruiting forum up above.
Had that kinda experience today, invited to a team that couldn't handle 4x Lord Recluse in a bank.
Don't let it put you off. There is some good work, humour, and serious mission-save-or-destroy-the-world stuff in the Mission Architect.
EDIT: That farm was also reported.
www.paragonwiki.com is a great source of information for this game.

Hey, I can think of some compelling plots that involve 4 Lord Recluses in a bank.
By 'compelling' I mean 'zany', but still.

No, the whole point of an MMO is to play in a game world where other people are playing as well. That doesn't require teaming with those people. However, their presence, whether you team with them or not, creates a gameplay dynamic that simply cannot be equaled in a single player game.
Oh, and the "no travel power"? Not relevant at all for AE missions.

... but the "10 to 30 levels below the level that the enemies were designed for" IS fairly relevant.
Good luck finding a better team.

Makes 'em tougher, sure, but you get auto-SKed up in AE. Not perfect, but not that critical an issue. But, that's beside the point. I didn't bring it up because it wasn't one of the irrelevant parts.

You can go up against hand-selected late game mob sets with the powers you've assembled by level 12, but more often than not you're looking to stay out of the way and let the 30s do most of the grinding. That's kind of boring. It's also annoying when you're one of the 30s. Then you figure there's at least one tool on the team who only joined this AE team looking for their daily farm, and is now complaining about being the same level as the mobs, with no higher level toon to lift the mob level up about 5 levels over the auto-SK, do the work for the rest of the team and multiply everyone else's rewards.
You probably know this, boardthug, but to mention it out loud:
Critters "Scale up" in HP and damage from level 1 to 35, to match the [originally planned] scaling of enhancements. Level 12 critters are designed to be fought by people with very few slots, and those slots filled with DO's. Level 35 critters are designed to be hit by people with 6-slotted powers full of SO's. And to hit people with defensive powers full of SO's.
So if you're autoexemped from 12 to 35, you're going to have to hit a level 35 even-con about twice as much as you would a level 12 even-con. And it will hit you really hard with a ton of mez and pain.
( I got on a team like the OP's once. It was slow and miserable.)

So you think you're a hero, huh.

And those higher-level enemies have more and more annoying powers- powerful attacks, AoEs, mezzes, debuffs, even basic knockback can be insane when they don't have any protection.
I'm with you Miss_Blue.. im playing a Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game solo.. lets call it a YGPOYOG "Your Gonna Play On Your Own Game"

How is it in three years you have developed no friends network to grind through another round of PvE play? So when you rolled your other toons you depended on PUG play? Why haven't you gotten on the MA channel online where people are actively teaming and sharing their stories? You instead come here and complain about AE? Brilliant.
These kinds of passive aggressive slight of hand attack AE threads are getting old.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Not everyone knows what those channels are, or how to get on them. Some of us don't have the time to make a network in-game.
But you have time for 21,211 posts. Pfft.
Why not let the person the post was meant for or a person that would actually fit that senario bring that up if it applies. We don't need a bunch of strawmen running around like chicken little.

And for the record, my school had unlimited free internet and a liberal filter, and I never think before I post.

Not every second people spend on the forums is time when they could have been on the game itself - some of us have to leave the house on occasion.
I've also been here 3 years and made maybe three friends, one of whom just dropped his sub. Playing at night (like say 3 AM) and suffering from altoholism spread across three servers I rarely get a chance to see the same faces day after day. I don't mind as I like to solo sometimes.
And your last sentence really doesn't seem to make sense.

Heh, I made an arc that at first glance looks like a farm. With the exception that the custom critters will slaughter you unless you have either high defense or fire resistance.
....and then you get to the end and fight an Illusion/FF AV set to Extreme. I changed the last AV because *I* couldn't even beat him. I'm thinking about changing it back and unleashing it on the unsuspecting farmers
"Hey, great farm arc here, it's number (left blank because it's not done yet), have fun with it!"
Yes, I'm mean.
I had another idea. An arc entitled "In Soviet Russia AE Farms YOU."
All LTs with Mind Control or Illusion. Didja know that LTs get Confuse and Decieve on Standard difficulty with those two sets? I have all kinds of nasty tricks up my sleeve to make MA missions literally impossible. I just generally don't use them because I like running my own arcs, and don't want to kill myself over and over.

It's also darkly satisfying to GET them slaughtered. My running crew HATES blind invites!
Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.
This is lost on several of the people that have been playing for under two weeks yet have a Kheldian. The fact that a large portion of the player base seems to consider differences in level to be meaningless may be one of the more destructive aspects of AE.
The other day I'm on with my 50 fire/kin i get a blind invite. I've got my flag set to lft, so, even though it's not how I prefer to make contact, fair enough. I join up and start checking my teammates out. Sure enough, they're between level 6 and 10, lots of AE badges, no veteran badges.
Me: Uh guys, I'm more than 40 levels above most of you, whats the upside to me joining this team?
King n00b: Doesn't matter
Me: huh? How exactly is a level 8 gonna help me at all?
King n00b: It's auto-sk, we're all the same.
Me: Dude, you've got like 3 powers.
King n00b: I've got 6 powers
Me: Facepalm <quits team>

Oh, it's not difficult. I just like putting short missions together with insane power combos, and then telling the farmers in the Atlas AE building about it. They always get one starred, but it amuses me to read the feedback I get.

I got one of these too, on my main scrapper, a level 50 claws/regen. I accepted and told them I would only join the team if they let me set the mission. They passed me the star and I set a MA mission full of Malta, with my difficulty set on Invincible. They all quit and reformed their team less than halfway through the mission. The guy who blind invited me sent me a tell saying: "You suck, that's too HARD"
