McDonald's SALADS are more fattening than their burgers.
You can see for yourself in their nutrition facts. A hamburger at McDonald's has 9 grams of fat. A cheeseburger has 12 grams of fat. The Premium Caesar salad with crispy chicken has 17 grams of fat. The Premium Southwest Salad with crispy chicken and the Premium Bacon Ranch Salad with crispy chicken both have 20 grams of fat.
On top of that, SALAD DRESSING adds EVEN MORE fat. If you want to add Creamy Southwest Dressing, it's 6 more grams of fat. The Ranch Dressing has 15 grams of fat. The Creamy Caesar Dressing has 18 grams of fat. So, if you get a salad with crispy chicken and salad dressing, you could be consuming 35 grams of fat - the fat equivalent of 4 hamburgers.

Thanks so much Bane, as of May 1st I was down to 67lbs lost only lost 1lb last month But I know that is partly cause workouts are not as often as they would/should of been due to getting projects/packing and other stuff done around the house (getting rdy to sell for a bigger house in a few weeks, fingers crossed!* ~ Plus when I did workout last month I was doing more strength training stuff which was leading to another 1.5" lost in my waist so a total of 18" lost in the last 13 months & the 67lbs so 38lbs left to my goal
*nod nod* I seen that one day when I was surfing online Beret, crazy eh? ~ I started running my own weight loss page on facebook and ran into someone that is addicted to pop & fast food and I started showing them some of the facts, average person consumes over 4000 cals a day if they eat out for every meal and over 200-300 carbs, nuts eh?
Also all soda pop some point (exp coke) can clean a toilet... can clean corrosion off a car battery... the list is endless!
I goal myself each month and if I meet those goals or 75% or more of them I treat myself to a small piece of chocolate which I will go burn off later then some.. or a half a serving of cheesecake (for a example) and ill go burn that off and then some .... or hubby & I have a diner we go to as a treat or Chinese buffet whichever but it would only be once a month & workout like crazy after to burn off and then some whatever I ate I shouldn't have, if I did or whatever but I been so picky anymore with my food, at the Chinese buffet ill pick around the bad stuff and grab a ton of veggies and lean meats, stick with stuff high in protein etc
I just got a new cookbook called "Now Eat This" By Rocco Disperdo (think I spelled his last name right) but hes taken a lot of food that we all enjoy for example on talk of Chinese.. General Tso's chicken went from 800+ cals down to 300 something, or philly cheese steak sandwiches from 1200+ cals a sandwich down to 300 something, it's amazing what you can do with food when adding the right ingredients etc
I am still working on my cookbook which is now going to be a weight loss/cookbook or I might 2 books I dunno yet
But this thread is still going, if anyone wants to join in and lose weight feel free! ~ Join my facebook page whichever don't matter it's all good though either way!
I'm not going to read through 12 pages of stuff to see if this has been posted yet or not. But here are a few tips.
- Instead of regular sugar, try using Turbinado sugar, Evaporated Cane Juice, or Agave Nectar. They are all natural and are great replacements for sugar without that weird aftertaste.
- A lot of the time when you think you're hungry, you are actually becoming dehydrated. If you think it is too early for you to be eating again, try drinking some water and see if that helps. (You can trick your body into thinking it's full by drinking water, but I don't suggest doing this on an ongoing basis).
- Eat your carbs in proper portions with your protean. Check out the differences between fast carbs and slow carbs.
- Exercise does not need to be intense, walking for 15 minutes is very effective.
- Try to eat something every 2 to 3 hours. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack, and if you stay up later, eat one to two hours before you go to bed, this will stop your body from entering a fat storing mode over night.
- Try to keep your snacks between 100 to 200 calories.
- Spend $10-$20 and get yourself an air-popper for your popcorn, that way you can control what's going on it.
- Eat whole grains (unless you have a dietary reason not to).
- I know it's a shame, but Alcohol is bad for weight loss. I'm not saying stop having a drink now and then, but save it for once a week or something. If you are one of those people who has a drink every night (like me, a glass of wine with dinner...well, did have), you may well notice a change in your ability to lose weight very quickly once you cut down.
That's all for now >.>

14 months & 6 days past nao!
72lbs gone of the weight I gained when I quit smoking & 18" too!
Down to 183lbs now
32 shy of my goal of 150, my weight loss page I started on facebook is now over 400 members in 4 months!
Starting my own "Bigest Loser" weight loss program today. Turning 40 this year and being extremely out of shape proved to be my mental turning point in physical fitness.
The stats, as bad as they are: Weight 260lbs. Waist is 48 inches, but that is at the waistline, above the waistline its really 54. Chest is 52 inches.
Borderline diabetic. Borderline hypertension. Pack a day smoker. Arthritis in both hands, spine and knees. Left knee has severe problems. 5 bulging discs in spinal column. Digestive tract problems that are too numerous to even type here.
So out of shape that it has been difficult to do much of anything anymore. Not one bit of physical activity outside of work. Haven't been in a gym since the age of 16.
Goals: Stop smoking. Lose 30lbs by Christmas. 60lbs by this time next year. Get muscle tone and more on critial areas(mainly spinal) to relieve back pain. Remove 12 inches from the waistline.
Training goal: I want to be able to run a 5k race next June (There is a large local 5k in my hometown every year in June for charity)
Size goal: I want to wear large shirts, not 4xl shirts.
Ultimate goal:I want to see my kids ages now almost 16 and 4 grow up to have a healtier life and lifestyle. Eating healthy and working out regularly so they don't end up like I have.
Step one was achieved today: Joined a local gym which has locations right beside my house and my work. Not only joined myself, but my wife and almost 16 year old daughter signed up as well. (Sadly my wife is in worse physical shape than I am) Hopefully between myself and my daughter we can get her to really commit to a regular exercise routine. And with the club having child care there isn't any excuse not to take the 4 year old.
This week's workouts and plan include: 10 minute warm ups on either treadmill or eliptical. 1-2 rounds on a 24 machine circuit training targeting specific muscles and muscle groups doing reps of 15 on comfortable weight amounts. Then a 30 minute cardio workout on either a treadmill or recumbent bike. Cutting food intake to 2000 calories a day(was closer to 4000 a day before today) Caffeine is already gone, only small amounts daily. Cutting smoking in half.
More info weekly. Decided to only weigh myself once a week, so updates may be on Tuesdays.
My words of advice for today: No one can change you. Only you can change yourself. Take that stand and change yourself.
Been battling the weight problem for a while now. I've actually found this crazy diet that works like no other... seriously, you could start losing one pound every day if you do this diet. Only problem is one you've probably guessed... it's pretty dang hard!
Rules of the diet... No Carbohydrates. No bread, no milk, no junk food! Which means... you're going to have to start reading nutrition labels. And following serving sizes. *audience groans*
So, basically, the main rule is you can't exceed more than 45 grams of carbs a day. That's it. It's pretty simple. But take it from somebody who's been trying this diet for months now... it's extremely hard to keep. But, I've found that the weeks where I have kept it, I've lost a tremendous amount of weight.
I know I probably sound like a paid testimonial or something, but I'm not lying. It's amazing. If you can keep this diet, working out won't be necessary (unless you want that dream body you've always wanted. =P).
Anyways, just thought I'd share that with you guys. As a fellow who also struggles with weight, I can totally understand how you everyone feels. I know how extremely difficult it is to stick to diets, or keep up with exercise routines. Perseverance is what is ultimately needed. I wish you all best of luck in your endeavors, and wish me luck too for my poor diet-keeping skills. =P

Week One update: Been tough but keeping to an under 2000 calorie a day diet, most days were near 1600. Spreading out 4 to 5 meals a day.
Exercising 3 times a week, cardio (treadmill) each of those and 3 more days. One day off.
Weight is now 252, down 8 lbs in the first week!
Super sore but still pushing it.
Started my stop smoking meds yesterday, quit day is Monday the 21st.
More energy, just so dang sore :P and I DO have muscle under all this!
Gratz and good luck. If ya like I'll add you to my prayers.
I have gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, Keep me here!
It's been a while since I posted in this thread, but today I felt like I just needed to share.
In May of 2009 I weighed in at a whopping 256 pounds, and I could not keep up with my daughter. I decided I was sick of being fat and set a goal of 170 lbs by May of 2010. It took 13 months instead of 12, but I finally made that goal today, weighing in at 169.5.
I've gained a new daughter too, so now I have to keep it off!

Kinrad, almost exactly the same beginning and ending goals for me. Thank you for that shot of encouragement I really needed today after 3 days of almost unmovable arms.
And huge congrats on the loss, I know it's not easy.
This weeks #'s:Weight 251, only one lb down this week, but fat % down 1.3% (around 4lbs)
All the hard workouts have added a lot of muscle, which in the long run will burn more fat.
Cardio now 6 days with workouts 3 to 4 days.
Quit smoking 5 days ago, still want to smoke soooooooo badly.
Have found out that fruits and vegetables exist! Who knew?
10 days since I ate bacon............
I just ate the most repulsively huge Italian sub I have eaten in my life. I feel like I might pop. But I figure after 13 months of diet and exercise I deserved a treat.
Right now I wish I just had some TUMS....
