Bored...any ideas?

I've been playing over 5 years now and can't seem to play more than 30 mins nowadays without getting completely bored to death.

In fact today was the first time in over a week that I've been online for 30 mins. Before this I would logoff after 10-15 mins.

I belong to a great VG on Virtue and it's filled with great people, but the game has lost its lustre now and it just isn't doing it for me.

Any ideas what I could do for fun? I've done everything in-game there is to do on both red and blue side and I'm seriously considering not re-subbing when my account runs out in October.

If you really can't think of anything you want to do in the game anymore, taking a break might actually be a good idea. Let it run out and don't resub just yet, spend the money on a movie or something, try some other games, maybe pop back to check out the next big expansion.

We can't force you to have fun, and you probably can't force yourself. Don't let yourself get burned out on the game. Maybe you find you'll miss it.

Like the Prof said, take a break. Come back when they release I15 so there will be something fresh.

I'll add another "take a break". I've taken a few in my time. No game is going to stay fun constantly forever.

Too much of anything, even a good thing is too much. Take a break, then see if I15 or Going Rouge spark your interest again.

I have to chime in with the 'break' crowd too. I've been playing just as long. I've never let my account lapse, but I have taken the occasional 2-3 week break to go outside and see the sun.

I actually play multiple games. I subscribe to one MMO at a time but have various other games to play also.

One of the games I always seem to fall back on every few months is Diablo II. I also currently have Sacred 2 that I play on occasion.

There is an item mall MMO I also play on occasion called Requiem: Bloodymare. If you don't mind the Korean style item upgrade system then its a decent game.

Some games I haven't tried yet that I have the boxes for are Star wars Empire at War and Sins of a Solar Empire, I also have yet to install and try Avencast.

I still have a copy of Impossible Creatures, not currently installed but its definitely one to play on a boredom streak. My fav RTS though has to be Battle Realms. Although there is no longer support for it, It will always be one of my fav games.

Another of my fav RPGs is Lionheart. Again, no support because the parent company went belly up but still an awesome game to play.

I was a long time Player of Rune also, I still have that but its not currently installed. If you like free for all online arena style combat, that is definitely a game to try.

Wild Tangent Games, had a decent diablo style RPG called fate. If you like Single Player RPG then that is definitely one I'd try.

Break time.

It's tough when you're part of a good SG/VG, but if they're cool, they'll understand taking a break.

Funnily enough, that's actually true. Overexposure causes burns and cancer. In fact, without our atmosphere's protection, it'd be even more deadly.

Play a different game for a bit. "Left for Dead" is fun and easy to spend a minimal amount of time but still get your gamer fix Very intense battles make for fast fixes timewise.
Another perk is there is no subfee.

Hmmm.... just dl Steam and play some of the demo's. That way you arent out cash for a new game or a subfee. If you do go the Steam route I have found that purchasing the games from Walmart or Gamestop is less expensive than purchasing online. L4D is priced at 39.99 on Steam but I picked up a copy at Walmart for 21.00.
You should get STEAM there are demo's and free play to occupy you if here is making a burnout. Take that break and get your fix too then come back when you are ready!

quick reply.

I got burned hardcore on Final Fantasy XI Online. It was HORRIBLE. I couldn't stop playing. Maybe I can sell my account for FFXI on Ebay or something. It isn't as fun as this game. Travel powers beef this [censored] up.
