Sometimes they do not allow names, and i'm not sure why I have a pet named Luc but I think it was Jean or something simple that wouldn't work so I was able to do J e a n and have it work ok.

For my Mercs Mastermind I had to give my lieutenants titles to go with their names. The MM is named Never-Moore, and I wanted to go with an Edgar Allen Poe motif for the first lieutenant (Raven), and for the second one, go with an alternate ravenish motif...Crow. Since Crow was not usable, they both got designated as Agents. So now I have Agent Raven and Agent Crow.

I tried to name a pet thug Marco and it said invalid name....
Vanden, more than likely(like 99% chance) it's just NCSoft being too careful over some character with that name somewhere.

I know I've mentioned it before, but I couldn't name the Lich "Necromancer" for some strange reason.
I'm gonna go with "arbitrary naming rules" on this one.

Necromancer was a powerful bad guy referenced in the Hobbit. If I remember right, he turned out to be a fellow named Sauron. Perhaps that is why Necromancer is invalid.
Can you add The to the name to make it usable?
"Necromancer" wasn't a name even in the LotR/Hobbit. It was a job title.

We already had an SG that couldn't log in a while back, if they had opened up the SG window after the character "GOTO" was added to the roster.
Finally they had found someone with a)Kick permissions and b) knew how to kick via slash command yet had not tried to open the window
