I call it like I see it. And I see the tickets as being the frosting, NOT the cake.

Ok, what the heck is the chicken tug emote?

[/ QUOTE ]
It's a one-man version of the purse-snatching emote. Instead of trying to yank a purse away, you're holding a chicken that's desperately trying to fly away.

I think we're better off without it, exploit or not.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh THAT emote....HAHAHAHAHAHA, that's one of the funniest emotes I've ever seen. Too bad it got taken away.

I can respec that but what about risk vs reward? theres no salavge drops or io drops. so in place they gave us tickets to compensate. Which was awesome. it did alot of good to the villian side market. this will have a very bad effect on the market now. my take a min for ios to dry up but with merits the way they are now tickets. its looking grim again for villians ......i truely hope though i am wrong. nothing at the BM to buy sucks serious donkey.........

Being a mostly-redside player, I've enjoyed the boost in
availability as well. But I don't think this is going to change too
much, aside from what's already changed from the instability
created by the recent anti-farming stuff.

I'd like that cap to be higher, personally, but assuming you
came up with a mission that generates the ticket cap, and
weren't kicked in the crotch by Positron's Radiation Melee:Nut
Buster attack for farming, it'd only take three missions
to generate all but the highest-tier Gold roll.

The power players will still be able to generate a good amount
of tickets. Those of us lesser folk will take a little more work to
get the same, but it'll still be an improved situation over being
jerked all around the isles doing stale content for piddly merits.

Provided of course that the ticket cap is working correctly...

I have to ask you Gear, why do you play the MArc's at all? There have got to be more lucrative ventures out there for an 8-man team.

Or do you perhaps, play it for the challenge? That your team is at risk, they you once again feel as though your character's are struggling for their lives? That the outcome is not so clear?

If I had played through the games content countless times, had a team of friends that could basically plow through anything the game could throw at me, I would find coming across a challenge that I and my team could not survive the first time around, that we actually had to rework our tactics and approach to the situation differently from what we had grown accustomed to.

To me, that in and of itself would be the reward, not so much the trinkets and baubles.

Darn, didn't realize that was in the game. I have never seen that emote.

Sounds hilarious though.

I'm so tired of the nerfs. I've lost so many friends in this game that have left for many other reasons, but yet I stayed hoping it would get better someday. It seems like the devs spend so much time nerfing things other than fixing long standing bugs. MA was fun while it lasted, when they starting nerfing ticket rewards, that was it for me...I'm through.

/em *throws in the towel*

While you've been focused on what's been changed in a negative way, you've missed what's changed for the positive. It's still 90/10 in the positive for the majority of the players. It's why the game is still active after 5 years.

Devs are allowed to change things after it's gone live. To expect otherwise is folly. They don't always get it right out of the gate, and they've buffed a lot of things as well.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

ok, so like, halfway through story arcs we stop recieving tickets. Everyone on my team says "screw this lets find another mission" I'm all "but.. i wanted to see what happens" and they are all "um... we want tikits you smelly rabbit" and im all "fine we will get your stupid tikits" and they are all " this sucks" and I'm all " nuthin we can do about it" and they are all "why havent you found us another mission yet" and im all "because shutup"

so... im cool with the uh... changes i guess... I do hear alot of my freinds <all four of them> complain about not hasing the tikits to get stuffs. Ima start looking at the prices of stuff now, no more "putting things on the market for 1 inf"

so, I know that fixing the emote to be interruptable when gamers come in range would make too much sense so its more reasonable to remove it, the ticket uh..."reduction" kinda leave a bad taste in my teams mouth... but hey I can deal. just a game, no biggie... ive just seen the devs....incerase the rewards, fix the rewards so everyone on the team got more tickets, now everything is reduced again. Lissen devs lissen good. you newbs are stealing my gig and that aint cool. im supposed to the the absent minded paranoid scatterbrained one here NOT YOU.

Sometimes what you care about is what gets nerfed, though.

For instance, even if they got the PVP changes right(which it
seems from afar that they haven't yet,) I wouldn't care,
because that has little to nothing to do with what I play the
game for.

For other players, though, even though 90% of the game
might be improved, the 10% of PVP is what they cared about,
and being ruined for them, they're gone.

For me right now, it's the abysmal handling of the MA that
keeps pushing me down. It's just one thing after another
being taken out of it, with no sign until possibly I15, of any
changes for the better, or anything being placed back.

Sure, I'm interested in other things. The Going Rogue
expansion has me perked, and I like what I hear coming
for Dominators. But the MA is the biggest part of the game
I've been interested in since I first started playing, so all the
negative removals and changes make me feel worse and
worse about the game as a whole.

All these changes and no dresses for the fire imps? I want Clothes for my pets! But seriously, these changes seem good. Now the servers will be nice and empty which = Less lag! (Hopefully)

lvl 50 - Empath/Rad
lvl 50 - Empath/Elec
lvl 50 - Spine/Reflex
lvl 50 - Thug/Bubble
lvl 50 - Fire/Kin
lvl 50 - Gravity/Rad
(All are in Freedom server.)

Kinda have to agree. They put something out and then people find loop holes and exploits and then they tell you they're not only changing that (which is fine) but they are taking away what you obtained. I never farmed the MA and was more into checking out the missions and making them. I was sick of the COX content - old and tired and the new stuff was more of the same.

Anyway, I don't care about these changes but it is concerning when they take stuff away from you because the item was exploitable. Doesn't quite seem right to me.

The 1500 ticket limit is kind of silly. I understand it, but it just encourages ticket farmers to run really short missions, and people who have long story arcs using big maps might be the ones paying for it. Yes, I realize farmers aren't the ones playing story arcs, but some casual players might like to play story arcs AND get tickets while doing it, and because of this limit, they might opt for arcs with shorter missions.

bingo!

tip: you can level a character from 1-50 in MA

that tip needs to be removed as it encourages FARMING.

i was LOL to myself last night when that one popped up as i was zoning into a mission. Way to discourage MA abuses!

You guys DO realize that it's per MISSION and not per ARC, right?

So a "short" one mission arc that gives exactly 1500 would be just as "efficicent" to farmers as a 5 mission arc where EACH mission gave 1500 tickets....

The tip doesn't say FAST, now does it? It just says that you can level up 1-50 in the MA, because of the infinite content. It has nothing to do with farming.

I soooo co-sign that. I can't understand why the Devs want to encourage the use of MA, something that took a great deal of time to implement it but at the same time discourage its use by nerfing tickets?

I know there are those of you out there that like to play MA purely for content but I'd like to explore new, challenging content while still feeling like I'm getting something worth while out of it. And no, most content alone is not worth giving up the rewards for... hell 99.9% of the content isn't worth it. Of course, that's just my personal feelings on the matter.

Man I can't wait for I15 so I can run a new TF over and over again for a few months

I'm not asking for 1 billion tickets, hell I'm not asking for 9999 tickets, but if the mission is hard and takes a well tuned 8 man team to get thru, then it should reward accordingly.

hey if you are all about stories and RP and all that and for you the MA is the reward.....more power to ya. You play the game the way its fun for you and I'll play it my way.

let me rephrase it for you Player, at 1500(or less) there is little incentive other than inf (which I'm sure is on the next thing on the nerf bat list) for me to even take part in the MA. I'm not here to release my inner Bard. I got that out of the way 30 years ago playing PnP D&D in the version 1.0 days. I am here to have some enjoyment, interact with my gaming buddies, have some laughs, and do my part on whatever team I am on.

When I put in the work, I expect to get something in return

[/ QUOTE ]

It is possible, maybe, that there are actually other people who WANT to tell stories, and still others who WANT to experience those stories.

Shocking, I know, but there is a chance that 'you' are not the only person in the universe. Consequently, since there may be SOME people who want to experience these foolish 'Bardy' trivialities.

Now, On the other hand, I think 1500 is too low. But that does not mean I can't look at BOTH sides of the situation, and temper my responses with a little common sense and think of others as well as myself. Just sayin'.
