AE is ruined now for good!!!!
Tickets kind of sound like merits now. Meh, doesnt bother me. I was kind of appalled that people were getting like 5k+ tickets in a mission.
Then again, I never saw anyone do that...so it could have been exaggerations on their part.

And, frankly, I was amused by the over the top vitriol by the OP, not by the ticket nerf. The nerf is just "eh" to me.
Dec out.
As long as the limit is higher than what I could typically get on a mission of that size facing ordinary mobs, I don't care. I'm not expecting AE to earn me rewards any faster (OR any slower) than any other content in the game. Provided it's still equivalent, nothing is ruined for good. It's just normalized.

I dont think most people even have any clue on how tickets are awarded. Some just give out more because of the odjectives some missions have. I am sure ticket framing is happening but I dont think most people are conciously doing this.
The problem here is that most people wouldnt notice this happened. But word will spread that its been "nerfed" and will be another nail in the MA coffin since that will be all most people even know about tickets.
Something the devs dont seem to get for all the carebear whining is that "farms" take skill and time to complete. The have a really clouded view or risk/reward. Most of their maps are way easier to mow thru for these same teams. I have to make sure I have lots of room from enhs, recipes, and salvage when running normal cakewalk missions.
The bottom line is that people care about XP more. once that is nerfed MA is dead to all but the crowd who hung out in Atlas before AE gave anyone any reason to be there.

1500 tickets possible per mission is still a lot, and as a time investment if you're 'not-farming' you can still rake in a lot of recipes and salvage (which you get to choose) purchases, more than you would be able to get through normal missions. The only thing you won't be getting are purple recipes.
If it's a challenge map, make the map any size but large, IE: not a farm.
As far as I can tell, the only ones screaming are the farmers. Anyone who is whining about this change and says "I'm not a farmer" is lying as far as I'm concerned.
Edit/PS: I'm not anti-farming, but the Devs have made their stance on this clear. Take the farming back to Taskforces, PI and Grandville.

I was going to edit the post with some witty (alright, not particularly witty) content or even claim Godwin's law -- but I figure (read: hope) just having you read what you said again might make you realize how silly and close-minded it was.
1500 is a good number in my book. A strong build can get 4000 tickets in the same time a strong build can get 20 merits.
I question your defintion of "hard" because the majority of ticket missions that genereated lots of tickets were far from "hard".

Yeah, anyone "whining about this change" is a farmer according to your mind-reading abilities...and if they say they aren't a farmer then they're lying. lol...it's okay to admit that you're anti-farm. Really, it is.
Anyways, the cap is irrevelant and a nice instance of "Dev-spin".
The question is what ticket amount or range is likely...or normalized.
I suspect they've dropped the control limits across the board in conjunction with a cap.

But here's my point. Some people make great toons. They invest time into research and acquiring their recipes to make io's. Now just because those people need and want tougher mish's doesn't make them liars either. That is just stupid to think that all good toons are farmers. And to say that you didn't ever farm for something yourself is most likely a lie. Now since people with good toons do harder mish's we are used to greater rewards. I have allot of toons and I need good recipes. I did tough mish's on AE to get tickets for reward rolls for my toons. But I didn't do AE mish's all day or even do the same mish twice. It was great to finally feel like you actually got a reward by getting a nice amount of tickets. Now that is gone and I don't see the need for doing AE anymore. If you aren't getting as much tickets for something that doesn't drop salvage or recipes anyway when reg mish's do then why bother? what little tickets you get won't make up for the salvage drops and recipes you get doing reg mish's. You know xp will be the next thing they nerf.

FYI...it's not 1500 per mission, it's 1500 per arc.
And THAT IS low.
It doesn't actually matter to me. MA was never supposed to replace all the other content, which is mostly what it's been doing.
MA is meant to be a stroy-telling tool in the true vision of it.
And frankly, after unlocking all the content, the tickets mean nothing to me. The recipes are random and not worth the number of tickets they cost anyway. It's easier to get mission merits or get random drops on TFs.
Another FYI...supposedly people have been "farming tickets" in order to get recipes...and this is wrong why? Some claim it messes with the economy...wrong. I certainly haven't felt it.
I hadn't worked Wentworths in a while, but am pretty skilled at it. This past week I took 2 days to work it to see how MA was effecting it. In those 2 days, I made close to 800 million influence.
The market is still there, and still going strong.
And just to drive the point home...I'm not one of these MA farmers...in fact, I've only cashed in tickets for a recipe once, and it ended up being junk, so I figure to save them in case unlockable content is added again.
Well, what did people expect?
The moment an award was made available, a significant portion of the subscriber population was - of course - determined to abuse the system and accumulate as much as possible of that award.
No doubt Gold Miners were part iof the problem; you can;t sell tickets, but you can sell the recipes and salvage they can buy.
So as abusive practices began to undermine the system, the rules were altered to try and protect it.
We subscribe to a community with all kinds of players, and like any community, abusive personalities will have an impact on subscribers who just want to enjoy what the neighborhood has to offer.
How would I solve the problem of farmers and other exploiters?
Believe me, you wouldn't care to know.

Well, just because you haven't "felt it" doesn't mean that it's not happening. And your implication that it has zero effect on the economy betrays a rather weak understanding of economics and possibly a great lapse in common sense.

Actually while the "abuse" was happening I was getting only 1 RMT email per day. Once the Developers put a stop to it then they jumped back up to 20-50 per day on each character.
With the tickets obtained at the old rate the RMT peoples business was hurt quite a bit.
Makes you wonder doesn't it?
I am too easily bored to do any repetitious activity that comes even halfway close to generating 1500 tickets in a single mission. Not going to alter my interest even slightly.
Loss of the chicken tug animation, though, is a blow that strikes straight to the heart.

The problem, which has been discussed to death already, is that the community's amalgamated definition of "abuse" contradicts itself repeatedly.
But to answer your question: I expected the developers to maintain a modicum of common sense when publishing something like this. If they had been conservative with the rewards that AE gave from the beginning then a great deal of drama would have been avoided.

Well they've gone and done it now. Today's patch put a limit on the number of tickets you can get as per which map your are playing. That's right, we now have a ticket limit per mish. A small [censored] ticket limit. So all your challenging mish's are worthless and rewards dismal!! NO SALVAGE DROPS, NO RECIPE DROPS, NO KILLS COUNTING FOR BADGES and now TINY TICKET Rewards. Why even do AE mish's now??? Back to being poor [censored] bastards not being able to aford io's unles you buy inf from outside sources. Without tickets it's even harder to get good recipes and we are AGAIN forced to pay [censored] prices for good recipe's on the black market. I have a tough arc and damnit I want my damn ticket rewards back!!! Always punishing people for making good toons cause it "might" be exploited. Tired of the [censored] farmers killing the game. Why the hell make exceptional toons now if you can't benifit... Not everyone farms damnit!!!!!!
You devs are butt wipes man~!!!!!! You have put such a small ticket limit on mish's now I hate you all of you.

If you hadn't tried to break the system for your own selfish purposes, people would still be getting normal rewards for my stories, instead of the deflated rewards that they get now. Luckily, the stories are so entertaining, that nobody else seems to notice the difference.

It doesn't changing farming, it just changes the map size you use for the farm and you spend and extra 10-20 seconds zoning in and out for resets.
Is a nuisance at best. Yes it was previously possible to earn near 18 K tickets from a mission, but you had to defeat *a lot* of stuff. Now? You just adjust your map size or even just cherry pick your mobs with the biggest spawns, wipe them out quick for the 750 - 1000 tickets you need, then cash in the completion bonus.
I'll repeat, this doesn't hurt farming, it hurts people who put in defeat all maps into their stories with decent sized maps, as well as most anything that is considered a challenge map. Because now the risk does not match the reward.

So, just to clarify, not playing the game for the same reasons you do or in the same way that you do is playing it for my "own selfish reasons"?
Sure, I'll accept that.
I play this game to have fun; that's one of the more selfish reasons to do anything.
