So it was announced in May 2009.

It is now January, 2010.

In what world is it reasonable to expect a game to be announced, tested, finished and released in 8 months?

Thank you, Champion.

Sarah Palin had to ruin it for me by releasing a book titled Going Rouge.

But it would be nice to get updated information as to the status of GR (not the book ). Drop a few breadcrumbs to keep us trailing along.

People keep talking about the pouplation being down but I never seem to have a problem finding a team whenever I log on. If you cant find a team MAKE a team.

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

Is there a sort of timeframe in wich there will be more info about GR? Got 4 other games pounding on the door to be played, so i'm trying to plan this year wich game to play when

My playtime is often that late in the evening that i hardly can make or find a team, hopefully GR going to boost that somewhat.

I'm pretty sure if this doesn't add something extremely exciting and new, like after 50 content (or an increased leveling cap) this may be the last hurrah for us. I love the game but it just doesn't pull me in like it use to. I can't wait for this though. I really wanna see what they have up their sleeve.

Well, they definitely aren't raising the level cap (nor should they). BUT, there is definitely going to be a system to "power-up" level 50 characters who don't switch sides, which they haven't given any information about other than the fact that it exists. Those who switch sides can still partake in the new system, but it'll take them longer to earn the rewards.

So far, the only rumors which hold any weight on this system (if the old marketting survey is to be believed) is that they're adding "global enhancement slots," which boost the stats of your character across the board instead of per power.

Plus there's also the logical view, that it's extremely unlikely that an expansion pack would only offer content for levels 1 through 20

If not for the development costs, they could get away with an evclusively 1-20 expansion at a greatly reduced price. We're talking 10-20 bucks max because so little time is spent at those levels. It would have to be someting really neat to be a draw though, like an entrely new leveling path (2 really, since you need one per faction, three if you allow neutrality, 4-6+ if you want it to have a heavy replay value) from 1-20 possibly in different cities before moving to Paragon (City of Heroes: Atlanta, City of Heroes: Moscow, City of Heroes: Los Angeles) with a full leveling path from 1-20 for both sides taking place in the same city. However, the development cost of at least 2 entirely new zones (1-10 and 10-20), plus the contacts plus the story arcs would make it very difficult to get back the investment since most would scoff at it at 20 bucks and some would even at 10. Add to that it would be a brain and resource drain from regular issues and it becomes obvious that such a thing, while a really cool idea, would be difficult to pull off. It would be awesome if they did though, especially if they put out one or two new starter cities a year.

Wich are entitled to hit major nerfs once they go live? Imho they should stop 'boosting' with enhancements slots, the difference between a 'full slotted' and a 'casual whoo i got a recipe!' slotted is already insane, dont push it even futher.

When do you all play? Been playing in the early hours of these midwestern USA mornings and have been running with full teams of Brits and Aussies on Freedom

What could possibly be holding you back?

There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"

What if you got to pick in Praetoria to be a member of the loyalist party or the resistance movement but instead had a character creation screen like the one for the custom foes in AE?

You log on to the game but instead of selecting the hero icon or the villain icon you get the choice resistance and loyalist also. you then select the powers you want based on a selection of archetypical skeletons ( Blaster, Corr, Defender...Etc.) but got free access to those powers like an Illusion/Dark Blast Resistance Dominator or a Ice Melee/WP Loyalist Brute?

This might be completely wrong but I noticed that if you take certain powers in the power selection screen and look at detailed info, you could see how the values would change when they are on a different power, to the point that there are values for a Ice Melee Brute even though the game does not allow this. This would solve the solution of a Brute not working well with Ice Melee because of Fury; the Brute will not have fury as a copy of the purebred Brute but a hybrid of a Loyalist Brute.

Just how some powers are not fully customizable inside AE they can be used as a skeleton of the AT based on two factors, Praetoria membership and Primal Earth Membership

I must admit that some of these features are already in the game, in AE you can select whether to stay true to the ATs or Mix the powers to create a third option.

Just an observation and hopeful wish...it would be ultimate Powerset proliferation and it is something the devs have insisted to some degree.

The choice to join the Resistance or Tyrant's thugs starts in the tutorial, accordig to Positron - at the starting screen, there's just the option for creating a Hero, Villain or a Praetorian.

It's early 2010 and no news at all. I thought this was the period where closed beta invites were to be looked at? Has there been a set back?

Technically anything up through June could be phrased as "early 2010."

I think most of us assume that it means that closed beta will begin at some point during Q1, since they're aiming for a Q2 release... but I agree that the phrasing was--probably intentionally--vague.
