I vote for 'alien' pets, needs to be more aliens, preferably the slimy tentacled kind..

Posi strongly suggested (Read: Came right out and admitted it) that a new MM powerset is in the works. Probably not for i15, but i16 is a likely suspect.

I don't remember this. Can I have a link to refresh my memory, please?

Mentioned in chat during an event. So far no one has denied it.

And the woman in the trailer for Going Rogue has been identified as Desdemona, a demon-summoning villain who has been redeemed. So it's looking like sometime this year.

I can't imagine the demons will be straight facsimiles of existing demons in the game. They're more likely to create something original. And there are a *lot* of demons in mythology for them to draw upon.

There are also a lot of combos they could use between melee/ranged - so it's anyone's guess what we'll see.

I think necromancy supports this viewpoint well since they don't match existing enemies.

Counter point:
This is a video game. Bewbage is directly related to, not exclusive to, pwnage. One could say bewbage dictates pwnage levels in many areas.

I'd like to see sacrificial powers. Hurt your pets, boost their damage type of thing. The damage on your pet could function like spectral damage for the duration of the buff. The buff would have to be rather large since you risk your pets dieing for it. Could be really well done and fun.

I wanna know how they are going to sell DEMONS DOING GOOD!!! Or even just "lawful" things. A creature that thrives on chaos, evil, and wickedness in general has no place on hero-side.

It would be more thematic, and certainly sell the "redemption" concept if the Demons became angel equivalents. I sure as hell am not going to play with a demon-summoning hero since my immersion will be shot.

On the same lines, it would be sweet if the Thugs became PPD or something like that. Same concept. Why are THUGS doing heroic stuff.

Just because they're in a street gang doesn't mean they're not into cleaning up the streets.

I don't have issues with the thugs directly, but it would still be cool to see them make that transition.

Most certainly the Demons though

You don't think demons can be good? You haven't seen Yu Yu Hakusho then. I assume your assumption is based on one of the abrahamic faiths?

From a thematic standpoint, I don't see "good" Demon/Necro Masterminds as being any more silly or implausible than all the heroes who "arrest" people by setting them on fire, bathing them in lethal radiation, or just hauling out an assault rifle and rocket launcher. Personally, I think it's a little early for everyone to be screaming Doom about the new expansion. There's pages of speculation, and we know slightly more than exactly nothing about it.

Earthdragon, as far as your immersion being ruined by a demon-summoning hero - I guess you've never encountered Infernal then?

Even excluding the anti-heroes (psychos with badges) era of comics, such as Spawn, there's a long history of characters in fiction that either come from an evil background or simply feel that the best way to fight evil is to turn it against itself. As far as demons turning into angels - read the source material again. Angels weren't always portrayed as chubby kids with fluffy wings - their original job description included laying waste to cities, scourging the populace, delivering plagues, bad news, and death, and generally bringing a short, unpleasant future to anyone who attracted the attention of their patron.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say then that you've never read a single DC-Vertigo title or anything containing Etrigan or Damian Hellstorm.

Mind you, Hellstorm is old school and probably before most of your times...

I stand corrected. I must say as well that if you have bewbage no other special abilities are necessary.

I named my Claws/SR "Rend Facestab" based on something like this. Seriously, arresting people by slicing them up with foot long claws? What the heck!

Positron already said Demon Summoning is the next one in the Q&A, along with Dual Pistols. Also, one of the new signature characters for Going Rogue is a demon summoning MM. The other uses Dual Pistols.

Going Rogue will also introduce two primary new fictional characters representative of this alignment shift in the game's lore: Maelstrom, a pistol-wielding hero gone rogue, and Desdemona, a demon-summoning villain who has been redeemed.

Son of Satan! I have some of those comics still.

Also, lets not forget our own CoH signature Hero Infernal who is a demon-summoner.

Also, as far as thugs becoming PPD if you switch sides - my immersion would be a lot more strained by this than most anything else. "Hey there, former criminal! Despite any crimes you may have commited, (including but not limited to: breaking and entering, assault, theft, grand theft, bank robbery, kidnapping, extortion, drug trafficking, and murder) we'd like to extend you the honor of joining the Paragon City Police department! Just promise not to take things from the evidence or armory lockers without permission, OK?"

Again, it all comes down to theme and backstory. And Thugs lend themselves pretty well to a group of "normal" people who get fed up with their friends and neighbors being kidnapped by pretty much every group on the planet to be be used as guinea pigs/possession hosts/sacrifices/fertilizer. The Mastermind is the one with the resources and planning skills, and the others are the ones that get things done. "Hank the Hammer may be the one that can lay the hurt down, but I'm the Man with the Plan!"

Personally I don't see any more problem with Demons being good guys than I see a problem with Heroes with Axes arresting criminals. It's a game...we HAVE to have some suspension of disbelief or it simply doesn't work.

As long as the Devs can point to some sort of movie or comic canon and say 'Here...we were thinking sorta like this' then I'm good with it.

As long as the movie wasn't Superman III and the comic wasn't something with the word 'Power' in it...

*Dashes off to see of his fave server has 'Man With The Plan' reserved for a MM*
