  1. Thanks a bunch, guys. My only IOed character is a Claws/SR scrapper, so I'm not too experienced at making proper builds yet. These help a lot!
  2. So I'm working on a 50 build for my lowbie KM/WP. I'm kind of stuck, and I feel like I should have a lot more S/L defense. Who wants to give me a hand?

Set bonus priorities were HP, Typed Defenses, and Recharge/Damage, in that order.

  3. I have a DM/ElA brute, and opted not to take Dark Consumption. With just Stamina and Power Sink, I never have any end problems, and that's without Numina/Miracle uniques.

If you really want to take Dark Consumption, you might want to drop Stamina, or vice versa. Power Sink is great, and while it does come later, I wouldn't consider dropping it over DC or Stam.

And stacking Conserve Power on top of that is even more endurance management overkill (though you obviously just took it to get to Phys Perf). Maybe Focused Accuracy there instead, not for all the time, just when you're up against dodgy ******* targets like T9ed bosses or +4 rikti drones.

I only have a WP tanker, but I've read that WP isn't so great on scrappers, due to their lower than brute/tanker HP cap?
  5. When you slotted up FH with the unique, did Health still have the regular healing enhancements, Morbid?
  6. +4x8 is fun! I died on the first group of rikti I jumped into on a Borea mish, then thought "hmm, maybe it won't be a cakewalk" and cleared out that mish, minus the stupid drones. I had to pop yellows to kill them, and didn't have enough yellows to finish all of them. So then I went to PI, and pulled a council radio. It's awesome seeing like 25 council running at me.

And then they all get murdered! I mean, arrested. Good times. It'd be troublesome for me without Shockwave, I think.

    Non-purple/non-pvp IOed Claws/SR w/ aid self.

    Jelly Beans

Lay down your Dollar Store Easter jelly beans, my friends. I am here to liberate your sense of taste and show you the true path!

On the 8th day, the Lord created candy, and saw that it was delicious!

50 official flavors, each unique, succulent, and accurate to the taste of their namesake. Many other flavors not in the main mix, such as Sport Beans for the athlete, Sour for the sophisticated palate, and Sugar-Free for the diabetic.

They are pricier than standard quality beans, but the small amount of extra money gives you an infinite improvement in taste and enjoyment.

This post brought to you by a late night/early morning discussion in PinnBadges, in which I learned there are still people in the world unfamiliar with Jelly Belly Jelly Beans!

Also: I'm not advertising for them or anything, I was just showing the website to the people I was discussing them with. But if one is interested in acquiring some of these culinary masterpieces, many grocery stores sell them as well.

My work here is done. Away!
  10. I like where my little thread went.

Briar: No, never done a normal STF either. *gasp* I do hold back when it's appropriate, of course, but there's not too much my scrapper can't handle when he isn't exemped down.

We don't rush into battle because we're impulsive. We rush into battle because we're experienced.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's a very important distinction, and one that isn't made nearly often enough.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wore the Poor Impulse Control badge title as soon as I got it. Up until a level 40 tanker kicked me out of a Freak LT fa-slaughter mission because myself and the 2 other scrappers kept going in before he did. He kicked the other two scrappers first actually. This caused our team to not have enough damage (me, a defender, and 3 tanks), and somehow the tanks let the defender die, then the 40 tank and the granite tank died (lol) while myself and the invuln tank kept fighting.

He kicked me after I kept making fun of him for kicking the scrappers for not following his lead.

After that little episode, I started wearing the "Tank" badge title. Now when people say "Tank goes in first", they're talking about me!
  11. I like to pick 3-4 bonus types to go for. On my Claws/SR, here was my priority list:

    1. Defense (to get soft capped)
    2. Recharge (for a good attack chain with minimal attacks)
    3. Recovery (because even though claws is cheap, spamming attacks is not)
    4. Regeneration (so I don't have to kill my dps using Aid self all the time)

I also picked up +23% acc and +11% damage incidentally.

So pick a few different bonuses and go for them! IOs will *not* make you weaker unless you really want them to...and I think that'd be hard to do.

    Come Home!

"stuff is too expensive" people are silly.

I started my Claws/SR scrapper in February. As of last night, his build is completely finished except for Aid Self, which I'm thinking of dropping for CJ/Evis (which won't take too much longer to finish slotting). I have 4 LotGs, full Touch of Death, all 3 healing uniques, 1 Zephyr set, but no purples. And despite having acquired a lot of that in the past two weeks, I keep getting more and more money.

I tried flipping one day, and got bored with it and never did it again, I only made like 200k off it. I make all my money by selling what I earn by killing stuff. I'm at like 180 mil at the moment (current on hand inf, not total earned), which may not seem like much to the ebil brotherhood, but it sure seems like a lot to me.

Normal game play can IO out a character in fairly short order, if normal game play doesn't mean constantly playing alts instead of your main.
  13. Ok, time's up, let's do this! *charges in while the group stands around*

How many of you use the durability of your scrapper to help dictate the speed of the group? I usually play a tank in MMOs, and I get frustrated with slow-moving tanks very quickly. To alleviate this frustration, I charge right in to the next group. If people follow me, cool, if they don't, meh, it's only an 8 man spawn, what's it going to do (other than get shredded by my claws)?

Don't get me wrong, you shouldn't always bounce from group to group immediately. Sometimes things go bad and the group is all half dead when the spawn is finished, so a rest period is necessary. Sometimes there's a patrol or nearby group that needs to be taken into consideration, and pulling is better than galloping in. But usually, the tank just likes to stand around for a bit for absolutely no reason.

Not all tanks are too slow, of course. Some tanks are ahead of me 99% of the time. But many seem to want to just fart around for 10-20 seconds between easy groups. RAGE! Things should be getting stabbed, not standing there unstabbed! Travesty!

So, who else tends to dictate the group's speed on their scrapper?

p.s. I also do this on my blaster and defenders, with much less successful results. I just can't stand standing around doing nothing!
  14. Survivor
    Eye of the Tiger

    Rocky was a SS/WP scrapper.
  15. Someone told me that my bosses were too hard.

Actually, the custom mob that kills people the most in that mish (including an IOed WP/SS tanker and an IOed Fire/Kin) is a lieutenant. Elec Armor at Extreme on Lts has Power Sink.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Obviously, the Claws/Sr and Claws/Regen would be cheaper to soft cap correct? Is Dm/Sd realy that costly to soft cap to do what you were doing in the videos with October?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Whoa, whoa. SR will be cheaper to soft cap. Regen will be the most expensive. SD will be more expensive that SR, but cheaper than Regen...if Regen's even possible to soft cap?
  17. So, I'm getting close to finishing out the last few IOs in my build...and I'm thinking of dropping aid self. This'll let me pick up Combat Jumping (slap a LotG in it), and Eviscerate (giving me all 3 claws multitarget attacks). It will also move me from 45/46/46 m/r/aoe defense to 51/48/48 defense if I 6 slot evis with Obliteration.

So, an extra cone, extra defense to stay soft capped despite def debuffs, 12.5% global recharge, and a good amount of increased mobility in combat in exchange for Aid Self. Once I get the last 4 enhancements I need, I'll be at 323% regen. You guys think this is enough regen to survive without Aid Self?

  20. Best storm advice you will ever receive: Put Gale on auto, target the tanker, and follow him around.

(As to the powersets, I don't have too much input, I've played exactly two ranged characters, not counting my MM and Crab, past level 20)
  21. I blame you for monkey colons.

(also, the semi-colon is a lame punctuation mark)
  22. Decided to go with Rad/Sonic...he's level 14, whee. Thanks for the replies.
  23. I blame you for poor grasp of length. Dr. Q is only 3 characters, one punctuation mark, and one space, that's not much at all!
  24. Take Shockwave. It is a must.

I prefer Spin over Eviscerate when the build is tight though. Not having to dance around to line up a cone FTW.
  25. I hated leveling up my MA/SR through the teens so much that when I did claws/SR a year later, I had a friend PL me from 12 to 22.

Like other folks said, scrappers aren't weaker, /SR is just comes into it's power late. Once you hit 22 though, it gets pretty awesome.
