Looking forward to seeing a few more of the glitches in the beta fixed, and then let the chaos of I-14 begin.

Everybody make sure to move your characters out of Atlas Park and Mercy Island. If beta is any indication, those zones will be packed and extremely laggy

There's an AE building in nearly every city zone, plus RWZ. Use one of them if you don't like playing City of Slideshows!

Except the intro mission has you going to AP/Mercy anyway, right?

Oh, and Crimson demands you play this arc-> Twisted Knives (MA Arc #397769)

If we allow that hit to take place over a few weeks it is better for all involved at launch.

Weeks? Really? I would think it's pretty much done, no?

It takes weeks for everyone to download it.

PLEASE tell me that the latest patch isn't what is going to live. After it hit, I haven't been able to access my missions or characters at all. I was hoping to have my arc done or almost done by the time that it hit live. Now, I might not even get to create it when MA goes live if it's like it is now on Test.

There seems to be a problem with the patching kicking in while a player is still in game. It's been happening to me all night. I'd get hit by a mapserver disconnect and when I'd go to get back into game it would start to download the patch. I wasn't expecting anything so I thought it was some kind of anomaly. I'd hit quit and go back into game, there would be no indication of a patch so I'd play a little, and would be disconnected again. It took me a several retries (on two different characters) to establish, (to my own satisfaction) that it wasn't disconnects due to server load or whatever else. I decided to log for good, after re-logging to let team and coalition mates know that I wouldn't be coming back and then I decided to let the patch (?) sit. Then I came here ... it took me a bit to nail down what was happening. In the meantime, I'd been watching the patch and realized that it was indeed patching something. I never received any notification of what was happening.

I will be putting in a report in the Bugs forum, as well.

god, i hope it will be live in like a month, this thing has more bugs than I13, i cant tell you how many problems i have had with the MA!! Lets just hope they dont rush this thing and try to get it out like they did I13, It has the potential to be an awesome issue if they take their time and work out the kinks.

[/ QUOTE ]Exactly why AP/Mercy will be packed. The intro mission just has you talking to the contacts in the building, and you can get all the same info talking to them yourself.

If you have a burning need to get the AE guy out of your active contacts list, wait a week or two

I'v never been on Test but was so very tempted this time around just because of MA. I'm still tempted but I just don't wanna "spoil" the newness of it all. The only thing I regret is that I'll have a lot of work to do on my own MA arc's, knowing so many of you will have them up and going as soon as live rolls around. I look forward to enjoying those... you've had time to tweak, spin and work out the little stuff. Thanks tester's

If its broke, don't fix it... I like the chaos!

I went on to test for the first time because I was excited by the MA. I have to say, at this point, I am not too impressed with it. We basically re-skin the NPCs and write our own dialogue. Being able to control which NPCs we encounter and where would have been a huge bonus. I am sure the MA will be upgraded in the future but right now....well...it's ok.

It's too bad MA is the only feature in i14. It has great potential but that has yet to be realized.

I don't really understand what you wanted the MA to do... I see these complaints a lot and I just don't get it. We have the majority of the Dev tools for missions in our hands now. If you haven't noticed, all missions in the game are basically the same thing with different skins on what we kill and different text. The only thing missing really is the ability to make our own maps and create cut scenes.

Well we also can't really 'script' the encounters exactly, such as a boss with a hostage, or locked doors, or ... well you get the idea.

I AM glad this got pushed back to its own issue. For lo, it is awesome.

But I'd also reiterate, squish the bugs!! please!! before this goes Live.

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

...let's all be glad we're getting something no other MMORPG has to offer - so be grateful for what you're getting. It will get better in time.

No.

NO NO NO NO!

Not until you've fixed the Mem leaks, html bloat bugs, and nerf AI ninjas. As it stands, it takes 2 gigs of ram to make a 50Kb file (which becomes a 100 kb file due to html bugs) just to make a minion that can take down an AV.*

Please please PLEASE do not ship it like this. I beg you! I'd hate to sound demanding, but there are still some serious bugs with this system that directly hamper ones ability to use and enjoy it, thus negating the entire reason for having it in the first place. Take another week at least to do something about these bugs.

Please.

*: disclaimer, I'm exaggerating, but the problems are pretty serious.

And why would this release be any different than the rest? After all .. schedules must be kept.

While I'm really excited about this issue and would love to have MA live ASAP, I have to agree with those saying 'please no' on a near-future release. There are still a great number of bugs to fix, many of them very serious and game-crashing.

Please guys - the concept is great, the execution is done very well, but things just aren't ready for live yet. The crashing needs to be fixed, as do several text code bugs, objectives that won't spawn, defendable objects, the ninjitsu NPC bug, the level range invalid bug, and many, many more, including whatever keeps breaking the search browser. In addition, the interface still needs serious improvement, such as a level range search filter.

I am a supporter of the idea that testing should be used to improve expansions before implementing them and if it is not ready then it is not ready.

But I have yet to see any compelling evidence that this should not go live. Not all the people experience all the bugs. The "fixes" and "changes" people want to see really are not things that should limit the release. In fact, IMO there would be a benefit to going live when it comes to the fixes/changes. They would have a larger data pool to view. And more data equals better opportunities for informed decisions.

I think he's talking about being able to place the npcs and mobs wherever on the map you would want them, which would be nice.
