I am curious as to what people would like to see for the 50 content (aka "end game"). I hear a lot of people calling for it but few, if any, suggestions. I completely agree that there needs to be a lot more content at "end game" but the last thing I want to see is yet more lvl 45-50 TSs. Dont get me wrong, the TFs are fun and all but we have more then enough of those imo.

I do not play WoW and have not for years but the raid formula for end game content is still a solid and viable option. Especially of City of ... decided to have well thought out and scripted raid encounters. Hami is ok and the Mothership can be fun, but why not some sort of villain (or hero) base raid? For example, instead of a TF with a series of missions, why not a "mini zone" kind of like the outdoor mission maps? I think it would be a ton of fun to go into a free form base style map against a particular villain group (like Malta maybe) peppered with scripted AV encounters with some sort of creative final encounter.

I know that is not entirely different from a final TF mission but I think it could be just different enough to be interesting and fun.
  4. Just as the title says I have suffered from a no enhancement drops bug. Two different play sessions for between two and four hours each with not a single enhancement drop. It may be important to note I was in a team that was a level or two below me on both days. We ran at least 10 missions over those two days with a mix of contact and radio missions.

I did a /bug on it and even a /petition. The customer support folks asked me to post my issue here for the dev team to see so here I am.

And FYI I am not complaining I am reporting.

I second this wholeheartedly. Great work. If I am on I will be happy to donate to the cause.

EDIT: Or you can PM me here and I will get with you about it.
  6. Awesome concept you have there. I might be needing a home for my I16 hero (cause my normal SG is kind of empty right now ) and looking at your site I think I may have found it.

Should I contact you all on your site now or wait until I16 rolls out and I have the hero up and running?

There are some good ideas in the game. If the new bugs are ironed out quickly and the whole thing is managed properly, it could do well.

Will it replace City? Probably not. An analogy I've used elsewhere on the forums is "Coke and Pepsi" two fairly similar products which both have their fans (and detractors) yet have managed to survive in the marketplace. Despite what some folks are saying, there is room for both.

In playstyle, CO more resembles WoW that City in any case. WoW players will find the crafting, drops, UI and combat systems very familiar. It almost seems to me that Cryptic designed a competitor for the 800 lb. gorilla and not for City. If they manage to pull some players away from Warcraft, then good for them. WoW can take the loss.

I'd advocate wait and see. Those who feel like trying it out, go ahead. It cannot hurt anything. Just don't storm off of City with a cliche'd "I'm leaving" message. It makes you look a bit of a fool when you come back. Besides, we're not giving back your stuff.
This. I had some fun while playing CO but not enough to earn my money. I simply canceled my pre-order and moved on.

But I agree 100% that Co is more like a standard MMO then CoX. By a long shot.
  8. Im thinking this is a bad sign for I15. Having this much trouble getting the "beta" started points to some unexpected issues. A reasonable person could reasonably conclude that I15 is going to be a bit problematic.

Of course i hope that is not the case because I am really looking forward to new content. Even if it is only a couple of costume pieces and some TF/SF action.

can we please get the patch notes? Pretty please?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not suppose to say anything, buuuuuuut I was told if you repeat this sentence in at least 10 different languages, then the test server will be open.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Crap. I only know nine languages. I gues I am S.O.L.

Apologies for the delay, you can start patching now but access to the Training Rooms won't be enabled for a little while longer. We will keep you posted as soon as possible!

Since it looks like it will be a while before we actually get to log in, can we please get the patch notes? Pretty please?

Haha. I have to say this makes me laugh. This is a relatively small issue yet we are all freaking out waiting for it. AND it is delayed. Still.

    Must have patch notes. O_O

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yea, patch notes would be great. Although at this point I would almost rather they didnt tell us. Cause it is really hard to be patient when you know it is close. (or in this case late )
  13. [ QUOTE ]
    Aaaand done patching.

Yea. I patched like 5 mins ago but the server is not up yet.

I would much rather have more end game content than new power sets. That's one of the things that are killing the game; very little end-game content. I know the AE could partially remedy that. But it's not the same as dev provided content

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree with this for the most part. More/improved end game content would be fantastic. But I also want new power sets.

Growth would be so awesome. I wish we had gotten that instead of shields or DB.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So you want this: Check it!

Now before you get all hoping mad and demand to know why you weren't told about, lemme tell you: That is a little trick I figured out with demo edit. You can't actually do it in game. One thing I came to realise from making that video is how poor the current game engine would be to handle a growth based power system. Sorry to burst any hopes but until we get a revamped game engine, growth based powers just aren't going to work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol Something like that yea. Maybe a little too big but I liked it.

Now, I realize it would not be easy to make growth but I have faith that the dev team had a solid solution in mind or they wouldnt have suggested it. The core group of devs seem to have an excellent grasp of what they can accomplish with the current game engine. That leads me to believe that there was more to the idea then just a whim.

No, it will be more like- Issue 15: The Quarter after Anniversary.

Cause it will be like two more months before it is live.

They would load I15 on the test server so we can test it for the long weekend.

Nope, not yet. Today's maintenance was just some prep.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah ok. LoL. Sad as this may seem I am VERY excited about the new Faces feature.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not sad at all IMO. New faces are great idea. I think they are just as valuable as new costume pieces.

Ack! No fair! We lost our Cuppa and our Lighthouse, now we lose our Ex too?

Seriously, best of luck in your new adventure. Be sure to pack lots of Lucks and Break Frees and Catch a Breaths.

I'll see you around Pinnacle, if you ever stop by.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. Minus the Pinnacle part. I pretty much stick to Virtue and let my kids play the other servers.

    Take care and good luck!

    Arc Reviews

"Arc Name: Astoria in D Minor
    Arc ID: 41565
Arc Length: Medium/Long (5 missions, but they can be very quick and are stealthable for the most part)
Arc Difficulty: Easy. Support ATs might have some trouble but I didn't test on any so they might be fine.
Description: A horror arc about the search for a lost daughter in Dark Astoria. Meet an alien, a disturbed hero, and find out what it really means to survive."

This is one of the best I ave played. By a long shot. There is a very solid story backed by an underused and poorly represented group (Banished Pantheon). It is not too hard to solo (i played with a BS/WP scrapper) even on rugged. The story is great and the mission maps used fit perfectly. Number 2 and number 4 are the best maps ever.

I would detail the arc but it would take a lot away from the story. Kind of like telling people Bruce Willis is dead before taking them to see Sixth Sense. Not quite as dramatic but similar concept.
  21. Thanks for the reply Quint. I guess thats what was causing me so much confusion. The OP says the x86 is for 64 bit. I read the reply that stated it needed to be swapped but with the post being so dated I was not sure if it had been or not.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
x86 is for the vista 32 bit version. i have vista 32bit and this is what it tells me the version is when i look at it in my computer. i havent applied the hot fixes yet but am looking into them as i am having issues other then just the video card one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Where do I find where it tells me that I have x86? I look in "system" all I see is it says I have the 32 bit system.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Psycho, the link leads to BOTH versions of the hotfix. However if you failed to fully read the thread you may not realize that you MUST use IE to brows that page and you MUST expand out the "show more" options so you see everything. Its all there. Heck I even included a image in some post or another of what your looking for. You can NOT link directly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not sure if you meant to be rude or if it just came off that way to me. BUT, I am using IE, I DID click "show additional information" and yet that did not change the fact that all I see are two hotfixes both stating for platform x86. Which I believe was stated to be for vista 64.

I appreciate the assistance, I really do. I am sorry if my inability to find the hotfix is frustrating you.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
While I'm really excited about this issue and would love to have MA live ASAP, I have to agree with those saying 'please no' on a near-future release. There are still a great number of bugs to fix, many of them very serious and game-crashing.

Please guys - the concept is great, the execution is done very well, but things just aren't ready for live yet. The crashing needs to be fixed, as do several text code bugs, objectives that won't spawn, defendable objects, the ninjitsu NPC bug, the level range invalid bug, and many, many more, including whatever keeps breaking the search browser. In addition, the interface still needs serious improvement, such as a level range search filter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am a supporter of the idea that testing should be used to improve expansions before implementing them and if it is not ready then it is not ready.

But I have yet to see any compelling evidence that this should not go live. Not all the people experience all the bugs. The "fixes" and "changes" people want to see really are not things that should limit the release. In fact, IMO there would be a benefit to going live when it comes to the fixes/changes. They would have a larger data pool to view. And more data equals better opportunities for informed decisions.

Hotfix applied and everything is fine so far.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would love to apply the hotfix but the link provided leads to the 64bit vista and I am running the 32.

I know I am a bit special edd but I cant find the 32 bit hotfix. If someone could link it I would love them forever.
