To sum up:
No prompt: annoying light show and sounds with the possibility of decreasing a challenge that someone wanted.
Prompt: people DIE. -
Yup, just happened to me. Definitely still a problem.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. I use my numpad for movement, and I zoned in somewhere and suddenly couldn't move. Went into options and all of my designated key settings were gone. I've NEVER had this happen before, and I'm betting that it's not a coincidence that we just got a new issue.

I soloed the TF with my MA/SR scrapper and the SF with my Energy/Regen stalker. I think I might have popped a shivan or two, but that was a while back and I don't remember all the details.

incidentally, does anyone happen to know if the pumpkin still exists as a possibility?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, it does. The second thing into which I changed after the randomization debuted was a pumpkin. -
I open the pet window on all of my toons. Regardless of the AT, I always get a pet at some point (shivans, snow beast, loa bone, etc.).

Yes, it was a very bad decision where there aren't enough strike forces to go around anyway. Not only are there levels with no real strike forces, but the one for 20-25 is unnecessarily difficult to access. I just played Silver Mantis for the first time this week. And although I had fun on the team I was on, it really isn't worth the extra hoops you have to jump through. With the dearth of strike forces villainside, it really doesn't help to have one for an entire level range that you have to access in such a lame fashion and have unnecessary hoops that you have to jump through to do it.

I think if arcs can fall out of Hall of Fame status, then they need to come up with a new name. Seriously, what kind of Hall of Fame kicks people out? One of the ideas behind a Hall of Fame is that people stay in it for perpetuity. Imagine if they told The Rolling Stones, "Hey, we're going to let you into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but you have to keep your record sales up to stay there!"
-
PLEASE tell me that the latest patch isn't what is going to live. After it hit, I haven't been able to access my missions or characters at all. I was hoping to have my arc done or almost done by the time that it hit live. Now, I might not even get to create it when MA goes live if it's like it is now on Test.

I dinged 50 back on the last Double XP Weekend, but didn't post.
Magic Act, Illusion/Storm Controller.

A Controller Villain?
That is impressive.
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL. I didn't even notice that. Truthfully, I switch between heroes and villains so much, that I sometimes have trouble making the distinction in-game. The other day I was on a scrapper broadcasting to see if anyone wanted a stalker on their team. -

What if the level limit goes higher the more time the account has been inactive?
3 months: level 5 and under
6 months: level 20 and under
9 months: level 30 and under
12 months: level 40 and under
[/ QUOTE ]
I like that. GREAT idea! Much better than the one they're using. I personally think if someone is gone for a year, they should have all their names up for grabs. I mean, they're going to pick someone who hasn't paid them a cent in over a year over a paying customer? And I'm saying this as someone who was gone over a year. I was very surprised to find all my characters and names still there. I would have been disappointed if they had been taken, but I wouldn't have blamed them one bit for doing it. -

Rikti drop tech stuff right?
Please consider changing this to magical..
[/ QUOTE ]Something needs to be done, the last thing we need at this point is more worthless tech salvage, we can get this on any freak farm or tv farm. From here on out devs you need to make at least 1 magic faction for every tech you add in a level range or it is going to be some severe imbalances on the market.
[/ QUOTE ]
A good start would be to make all the magical foes actually drop arcane salvage. Getting tech salvage from a Legacy Chain is just plain wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
A better start is for people to stop farming and just PTFG.
[/ QUOTE ]
And where anywhere in that person's post did it say that they were farming for salvage, instead of just, as you so wonderfully put it, playing the game?
[/ QUOTE ]
Where indeed? I mean, if I'm fighting Legacy Chain then I'm OBVIOUSLY not farming. I sincerely hope that it was a reference to the quote before mine that mentioned farming. -
I10 doesn't sound too shabby. I'm looking forward to the co-op zone. The task force sounds good, although I'll probably have to do it on test before live to ever get to do it (that seems to be the only way I get to do TFs). And the invasion groups could be fun. Now there are just two things that I would really like to hear:
1) That we are getting lots of new non-invention costume pieces. Actually seeing something from the pages and pages of suggestions on the forum would be nice.
2) That this is just the beginning with the co-op zones, and we'll eventually be getting some for other level ranges, much like the PvP zones. My lowbies want to team up, too! -

The best part of I9 was the addition of the things that made my heroes' lives a little easier: new trams, stores in KR, and trainer in PI.
I actually laughed when I saw new costumes as a choice under new shiney. We have new costumes? Really? First of all those things some are considering costumes, I don't. They're new inventions. New costumes would be available when I go into the character creation screen. Second, if I wanted those things, I have two chances of getting them: slim and no. Furthermore, if I get them on a character, chances are that I won't be able to use them on that character. And if I make a character that would use them, chances are that I won't get them. This was a totally screwed up way of implementing what are supposed to be costume items. I know there are players out there who don't care about their characters and will slap wings on anything, but I'm not one of those.
I9 has even hurt the shiney that I voted for, badges. Now there are so many with such ridiculous requirements that my interest in badges has dropped significantly.
The only good thing that I can say about the invention/economy addition is that my lowbies don't have to struggle with inf so much since they can sell all the worthless crap that they get now. But even that selling takes time away from, you know, actually playing the game.
I am REALLY hoping there are some worthwhile things in I10, because the idea of quitting again has been crossing my mind more and more recently. And this poll is going to be totally skewed, since a lot of the people who weren't thrilled with I9 may have quit already. -

I'm not of the doomsaying crowd...
but, the state of the game address felt like usual political fluff than substance.

"And what better way to give these new wing sets to our players than through our new Invention system!"
Well... off the cuff I'd say, "as part of the regular Vet reward package," but I've promised to refrain from grousing (too much) about Costume Inventions until I get to play with the system. So I'll let this serve as a microgrouse.

I was thinking....maybe.....um.....THE CHARACTER CREATION SCREEN?!?! -
Ran it for the second time tonight and had my first success. In the first one we had a blaster drop out in the first mission and did great until Mako, which we just couldn't take down. Tonight was awesome. I didn't even die once! The team was composed of the following:
3 Def: 2 Dark/Dark, 1 Emp/Dark
2 Con: Ill/Kin, Fire/Rad
2 Scr: Claw/Inv, MA/SR (me)
1 Tan: Stone/NRG
We blew through it for the most part. When we got to the AV's, we tried to pull Mako, but they all came. And we fought them like that. Taking out Mako first (the one that fouled up my first team), then Scorpion, then Scirocco, and finally Widow. She was the only one that we had a problem with because at first there were pets around her that she was using to draw heals from. We got rid of them and then took her down. We proceeded to Recluse, took down the towers, then him. Finally, we took out the flier. That's right, we had the flier going the whole time. Our tank held Recluse's attention while we took down the towers. Loved my dragon's tail here as I used it to hit repairmen while still pounding on the tower. (Also loved it against the Aeons :P) We had a couple of tactics, with a vengeance and a fallout available. It took about 3 hours, and was surprisingly straightforward without any real bumps in the road. Sure, some of the squishies died here and there, but nothing near a wipe. Overall, it was a blast! -

Personally I think blatantly copying Wolverine's claws is pretty cheap. I would much rather have actuall claws that extend from my fingers than wolverine's as I have no wish to make a wolverine-like character.
[/ QUOTE ]
I totally agree. I ended up deleting my first claws scrapper from way back when. I was expecting, you know, CLAWS! Then those Wolverine things popped out, totally ruining my character. If Marvel sued them for anything, it should have been that.
