Numpad binds resetting/going random on zoning
Personally, I make a seperate bind file for each of my characters, and then have L bound to load their file, then give a visual cue that it loaded: L "bind_load_file C:\Binds\[CHAR_NAME].txt $$ emote thumbsup"
I do all of my bind editing in EditPlus, so that I KNOW the key I want has the bind I want. Have you tried that?

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:
Saving / loading to a file doesn't appear to be working. Not sure if that's related to the current problem.

Correction:
Options loaded from file d:/games/City of Heroes/options.txt
Options saved to d:/games/City of Heroes/options.txt
Getting that in system tab. It should be noted that I never use the save file; was expecting there to be a pop up or something.
EDIT:
Through it should also be noted that making changes, saving to a file, then reloading doesn't appear to do anything.

Well. Totally reset my binds. That appears to have worked.

I'm glad you managed to find a working solution!
And whoever gave me neg rep saying, "typical forum cartel, spamming unrelated stuff just to pad your post count" has no idea what they're talking about. And they know they don't, since they couldn't be bothered to leave their name. It made me LOL.

I got "not helpful typical forum cartel."
Still wondering how long till they remember why they removed the first rep system.

First off, I was NOT the one who gave you any feedback. Those (myself) in glass houses should throw no stones.
Anyhow, I do see the point whoever did that was trying to make. Your post did not address the OP's question. His problem was not that he did not have his binds correctly bound to a key, it was that they were reverting when he ZONED. This does not happen just because you didn't assign the right letter to a bind. There had to be some other issue or reason.
While I don't agree with the action taken, perhaps this is why whoever did that, did that. *shrug*
Personally, forum "rep" points is a waste of time and are always, on every single forum they are on, misused and abused. They are pointless and do nothing.
Post counts are also, to a lesser degree pointless since they are also consistently "padded" as well and serve little purpose. Does someone's opinion mean more just because they posted hundreds or even thousands of times on topics that are completely irrelevant to the topic at hand?
Satanic_Hamster- Are you saying someone gave you neg rep for post you made, in your own thread, that they deemed didn't help you?? Some people...sheesh.
As I said, the previous ranking system in the old forums was removed for a good reason; and THAT didn't even let you leave "anonymous" messages.
I went around and checked other characters that used to have numpad numbers bound to selectteammate+02boost or veng (all those had been changed to select only a long time ago) but they were all fine.
This character was the only one with a screwjob numpad going on. Annoyed that I had to reset all binds; fortunately, know how to type, so I could redo them all in a few minutes. Only thing was remembering the syntax for numpad - and +.

So I vehemently disagree with your assessment that it is the OP's fault, as I have personally seen this happen (to my own characters, and to my boyfriend's, who sits next to me when we play). It's not due to binding improperly.

In over five years, I've never had the game lose a bind. Once. Much less have only the numpad on one character randomize/reset every time I zone. And if you read his post again, he didn't seem to imply that it was my fault.

Whoops, I totally misread the line:

I was attempting to provide him with an optional way to try to get the binds to stick.
I dunno who decided to jerkrep, and I'll probably never know, since I don't expect them to ever read this thread again. Frankly, it amused me that they did that, and it amuses me even more that the ALSO did it to the OP.
So, SH, am I correct in the conclusion that you finally got it to remember your binds?

As I said, I had to hit the dreaded 'ole "Reset all binds" button. That worked and everything has run fine since then (played maybe six hours on that character post fix).
Whole thing is just weird; never seen or even heard of a similar bug.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. I use my numpad for movement, and I zoned in somewhere and suddenly couldn't move. Went into options and all of my designated key settings were gone. I've NEVER had this happen before, and I'm betting that it's not a coincidence that we just got a new issue.
Same problem as me?
IE, would it keep reset/randomizing every time you zone and ONLY the numpad?

Since a later patch in I15 binds have been swaping to old builds or other chartacters upon zoning for me. Not all characters, but some. And the odd thing is since I have multiple accounts, some of the binds have been jumping accounts. So I think it is pulling from things saved on my PC.
But reloading the binds right after zoning once or twice seems to fix it for that character.
Here's a question: For those of you having your binds reset/changed/etc, are you storing your bind files in your CoH Folder? All of my binds are located in C:\Binds\ and I can't recall ever having had any problems with them resetting...

..and Kheldarn: I use ..\City of Heroes\data\ (the default) for all my extra bind files and they work fine also.
Not quite the problem I had. One of my old level 40 characters which had the powersurge on demand bind (where if you push a direction key the special movement turns on and turns off on release), and I hadn't used in a while, had it's bind reset to the fourth character I made, where the move on demand turns on prestige power slide instead of prestige power surge. It also turned off Jump on demand, removed a taunt bind and added a chat bind.
Fortunately I had this guy's binds saved in a separate folder called /binds/ But not all my characters had them saved. I reloaded it and it worked fine until I boarded the train, then it had the binds of character 4. But I didn't realize this until I entered the mission. I reloaded its own bind. Upon exiting the mission it reverted yet again to character 4's binds. I reloaded again, used the train, got swapped to character 4's a fourth time, immediately reloaded his bind and it finally stuck.
Not quite a new character, which only half get character #4s binds and half get the default bind. By the way, Character 4 is the only one who has his binds named for him in both the COH folder and the Bind folder. It is not the default bind file. But sometimes other characters that had different binds, get character 4's binds
Four year old fire/therm corruptor, been sitting at level 39 for near three years.
Previously, I had numpad1-8 set to select teammate + powec Thaw.
I finally decided to respec and IO out this character and make a push to 50. Changed the numpad binds to select teammate only.
But every time I zone, they 2/3's of them switch back to select+thaw. But they're all random. 1 selects person 4, 2 selects 2, 3 selects nothing, etc. Only the numpad 1-8 is getting junked.
Any suggestions? Never had anything like this happen.
