This sounds like a great idea, even though I'm not a big PvP fan myself.

However I guess the one part I'm a bit hazy on is when we start to build the alternate configuration if all our current IO's are available to install thus sharing the same IO's between configurations or if its a complete repurchasing of IO's from scratch for the alternate configuration.

Leveling Pact

A new innovation to MMOs, this system allows you and a friend to create new characters and have your XP be permanently in sync, whether both characters are online or not. You will always be the same level, even if your friend plays ten times more often than you do! It's sort of like " Extreme Power Leveling "

Yep, no one will be using that to power level as it's giving only half XP.

And I love the multi-build feature. I don't care that you have to buy more enhancements, I expected that. I may even just go with pure Common IOs for PvE.

Hmmmmm... Dual-build may indeed be interesting (Time for that terribly frivolous build that has Group Flight+Team Teleport).

Also, I see this being a huge benefit for Stalkers, who not only have vastly different PvP and PvE builds, but also how much the Stalker builds differ weather favoring group or solo play.

All that is planned fails. All that is born dies.
All that is built crumbles. This will always be true.

But memories remain, And that is beautiful.

You guys realize WHY that had to happen right?

You got yourself a purped out toon, and than you use the dual build option.

Ta-da, you now have 2x those purples. Now just respec and ROLL IN THE DOUGH!

So yeah, you guys should have been expecting that. And its really not that big of a deal. I'll prob have SO's and cheap sets for PvE, and save the good stuff for PvP.

Crafted enhancements give you no money when you respec.

I'm pretty sure his point is to use the separate build as a means of doubling up on things like purples, LotGs and Numina's Uniques, respecking out of them and selling them on the market for tens of millions of inf. Frankly, I'm not sure how the devs plan to deal with this possibility. *shrug*

Maybe having that separate PvP build would require a second set of enhancements entirely... but that might prove to be an even bigger can of worms. Iunno. I'm just glad I won't have to mess with it much since I don't plan to have PvP builds with most of my characters.

I gotta say, I'm not that pleased with finding out that we'll have to buy enhancers for each character build ... especially since most of my often-played characters are red-side, and the black market is insanely out of whack a lot of the time.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think that seems like a fair trade. Aren't the IO sets most helpful in PvP? I don't see why people wouldn't make the PvP build the one with the more expensive set pieces and use regular IOs or even SOs in the PvE build. That seems like an efficient and cost-effective way to do it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I could care less about the IOs. I think it rocks that we can make our toons far more diverse. Under the current system we are really pigeon holed into powers...its the same old same old. At least now we can expand our toon and add a whole pile of new combinations/powers.

IOs are ok and if I have time I'll add some to a toon. If not I usually manage fine without them. If the DEVS wanted to encourage less farming and more PvP they may want to think about putting a cap on the amount you can sell items for on either market. Just one option

According to the devs, your "second" build will be empty of enhancements, so you'll have to get new IO's/SO's for the second set of slots if you so choose to use said second build.

"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict

In comes the merit system, which should speed up completing your builds.

While I think the devs made the right decision in delaying the mission architect until its completely ready, and not delaying the rest of I13 features with it, it has the unfortunate side-effect of making what's been announced for I13 pretty blase to me. Normally I really look forward to a new issue and have a "I want it Now!!! When's it coming out? That's too long to wait!" feeling. Now with I13 it's more of a "hmmm...that's nice. When's it coming out? oh, sometime in the next few months. ok, well, whenever you get around to it is fine." feeling.

That's similar to what I'm planning to use dual-builds for. This gives players an opportunity to experiment and try things that fly in the face of conventional build wisdom.

For example, I think I might try a petless build for my Ninjas/Poison MM Orochi Dragon, and a Stamina-less build for Spectreblade, my main Broadsword/Dark Armor scrapper, to see if Stamina's really as necessary as some people think it is. If it turns out a BS/DA can survive without Stamina, it would send a message that a lot of other set combinations could do so as well. Normally, I wouldn't try that and risk gimping myself, but with multi-builds, I can just switch back if the gamble doesn't pay off.

So does this mean on VEAT I could have a Wolf Spider & Crab or what ever combo on the same character???

And if you dont want an extra build, it serves as a pseduo respec really.

Not seeing how you are any worse off but having another build even if it means more inf to outfit.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

You can have a Bane build and a Crab build on the same character. But you have to speak to a trainer to switch between them.

I don't understand the Multiple Builds...why call it that when you can't even pick whole different powersets?? What if I want my character to further mutate and have different powersets for my other build?? What you just did is a free respect that you can play the old one if you like....That is not a new feature....please rethink the "multiple builds" because that really isn't a change....not worth paying for at least....

See I have a character that started with Super Strength and I want it to mutate into Energy Melee...That would be depth, what you did is make it so that I can use Super Strength in a slightly different way which really didn't change anything. What if I wanted to have a fire power set in the day but ice power set at night, I couldn't do that because of the ridiculous limit of the "multiple builds". Please read this and think about it.
