It has to be, or I'm going to get over 90% of those in every single screenshot. 
Edit: What is a "Polarized" PPD? Also, is a GM a Giant Monster or an NCSoft Game Master? Or either one? Actually, I think it better be a Monster to avoid people doing /petitions to get screenshots.
Edit2: Things put in via modding probably shouldn't count, either, or I could just replace billboards with checkered flags, trees, a mezzed Blue Steel, and so on.
Knowing Kat, I'm pretty sure by "Polarized" she meant an Ascended Quantum PPD Kheldian Peacebringer Cop dude in Light Form. (The blue-ish white puff ball. You'll know it when you see it.) Also, I'm going to put my money on a GM as Giant Monster, even though you can just go out to PI and find an entire island full of 'em. Not really that difficult to scavenge. 
On topic, this looks insanely fun! Our SG had a scavenger hunt a couple months back, sometime in the winter and was loads of fun! I'd definitely be willing to take a stab at this.

Can we use photoshop to SIGN or watermark our pictures? I'd hate for people's pictures to get stolen and then have a huge fuss over who's picture it really is...

Oh, another thing, along the lines of signing/watermarking: can we LABEL our pictures (IE, "Stop sign" "AV" "Emote")? So we can make sure that the judges don't miss something, especially if it's obvious?
I mean, I'd hate to get docked a point for not showing "Something blue" when the SKY takes up half the picture, y'know?

I plan on having the originals and edits labeling all the things to go along with it just in case the judgers have bad eyes.
Hypothetical Question:
Say I have 5 pictures of the same boat, will i get a score of 1 or 5?
If I have 5 pictures of 5 different boats, will i get a score of 1 or 5?
If I have 5 pictures of 10 different boats, will I get a 1,2,5,or 10?
I'm fairly certain that you can't submit the same scene multiple times, if that was the case, I'm sitting on ~75ish points already (not using demorecord or anything)
I also fairly certain that 5 pics of the same type of stuff will net you less that 5 pics of different stuff. How is all of this supposed to work out, because if someone was to take all the trouble to do all these pictures and to later learn that all but 1 will count, they would most rightfully be upset.

You will be posting your pictures in this thread. If by labeling you mean doing so in the file name or the picture , then no.
You however would be encouraged to make a list of items for each picture in your post.
While we will be doing our absolute best to make sure we do not miss anything, we are only human. A list could do nothing but help. :-)

No watermarks or signatures on the actual pictures allowed. There is no need for them. Everyone will be posting their pictures here in this thread. Obviously if 2 people submit the exact same picture we would know the first person that posted it must be the owner.
If you absolutely feel you must have some proof in the pictures that it is yours then we suggest you include your character in the picture some how.
yeah was also wonderin...lets say i have two pics with wizards but otherwise different....would that mean i'm screwed?...also do we need to say what server we're from or is this a gamewide?
Good question Hamenopi. I was assuming you get one point for every item on the list that's on the screen for each of the five pictures. But then the best strategy would be to get as many as possible together then hit the screenshot key five times. That doesn't seem right.
Maybe it's just a matter of checking them off. Once you have a boat you have that one point and further boats won't help you at all. That means the max score is however many search items there are (42?).
We want to encourage you to use as many items as you can in a creative manner. Posting the same situation, scenario or location from a slightly different angle or perspective isn't very creative in our eyes. Throwing your friend, who happens to be something on our list, in the front of each picture is not very creative. We encourage you to use as many items as possible in each picture but please try to demonstrate your abilities to show new and exciting things in each picture.

Edit: So it's not so much how many items we get as our creativity in getting them? If I get 50 objects and somebody else gets 60, I can still win if mine are more interesting?

We are judging equally on both number of items and creativity. So yes, in theory if you were to just "wow" us with creativity and had a few less items than someone else you could win, and visa versa.

I still do not believe that my question I addressed this thread with 4 days ago has been answered. What I am getting from CriticalKat is a sense of "we really haven't thought of the context of the judging so I will blow smoke up your backside until then."
Rose, I've known you for sometime now, helped some of your personal events run smoothly etc if you remember. You have always been straight forward and bluntfully honest to me (even when the truth hurts). I do not understand Protectorite apparently. Could you... lemme know in Freedomite or something. I just need some concept of how you guys are planning on judging.
Yes, I am a competitive person, we exist. Just feeling disenfranchised with the apparent overlook of my serious post.
Our scoring system is not cut and dry. It is impossible to judge on creativity cut and dry. As far as the items part of the scoring, hopefully this will give a little more perspective.
Picture #1 -- has 3 mezzed people in it = Gets points for 1
Picture #2 -- has 10 mezzed in it = Gets points for 1
Picture #3 -- has 10 mezzed in it = Gets points for 1
Picture #4 -- has 5 mezzed in it = Gets points for 1
Picture #5 -- has 10 mezzed in it = Gets points for 1
The thing is that a picture with 10 mezzed people might only get 1 point for the item part, but we may think it is a "wow" factor on the creative part. Then again if you use a mezzed person in every single picture we might think you should have shown us something new and refreshing. It is up to each of us individually how we may perceive the entry. Half of each entries score is based on creativity. Creativity is also a factor in what items you choose to repeat/not repeat.
The P.E.R.C. Screen Shot Scavenger Hunt!
This one is for all of our "City of" gamers who enjoy taking screen shots; here's an opportunity to really let your creative juices flow.
We've created a list of items, located below, that can be found in-game on both the Hero and Villain side. Your job is to locate these items in-game, and then take screen shots of them in a creative way.
The real challenge is to include as many of the items from the list as you can in each of your shots.
The Rules:

[*]Do not use any photo-enhancing programs (such as Photoshop or PaintShopPro); we want unaltered screenshots. Any altered entries will be disqualified.

[*]Each entry must include 5 screenshots, no more, no less.
[*]Judging for this event will be based on creativity, and the contestant's ability to include as many items as they can from the list below in each screen shot.

Some final clarification on judging:
If one entrant's five (5) pictures are scored as equal to another entrant's five (5) pictures in creativity, the person with the most items (overall) in their five (5) pictures will score higher. So, the idea is to incorporate as many items in each of your pictures as you can.
