No, she has not. Strangely enough, she's not a beta person. She is quite content to wait for the content to be released to the live servers.

Time for a Sister Flame update. The biggest news would be that she turns eight this week. It is hard to believe that my little girl has been playing CoX for three years now. Best of all, she hasn't lost any interest in it. I am glad she hasn't become hooked on electronic games like her cousins (4 to 5 hours day glued to a screen *ugh*). It looks like two hours a week of CoX is enough to tie Flame over and with spring here, it means I'll be doing outside a lot more doing bike rides and the monkey bars with my little super heroes.

Flame and I have got the plot and missions laid out for her arc for the MA. It looks like I will be working the controls while she guides me to make her mission. We don't have a solid name for it yet, but we might go with either "Sibling Rivalry" or "Pains From The Past". We're still figuring out the 'feel' of the arc.

It looks like Flame has moved beyond swimming in the "pool" in Atlas Park. Since she hit 25, she has been hooked on Ouroboros. She loves the intro arc so much, she wanted me to find some toons I had that hadn't done it so we can do it again. Flame also really likes how the zone looks and gets a kick out of flying to the little islands. We tried a few Flashback missions and what she liked best was being able to choose the arcs that allowed you to rescue people/heroes. So, instead of hanging out in Pocket D and playing hide and seek, we do it in Ouroboros.

I noticed Flame has a tendency to wander back to Atlas Park when she is playing by herself ("herself" meaning Dad is sitting by and watching because he is tired). She tells me she likes beating up Hellions and having people thank her. When I ask mention the fact she isn't earning XP, she just shrugs. "I don't care" she says with a smile. "I like knowing they can't hurt me and they run away from me. That's cuz I am powerful!". Well, I decided she if she wanted to feel powerful, I'd take her to Perez Park.

The end result? When they say "Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls.", Sister Flame does it enough for dozens of heroes. The best is she adds her own, real-life battle cries. Some the best ones are...

"Feel the heat!"

"Fry Skulls fry!"

"Burrnnnnnnnnnnn!"

If only I could harness this energy for good....

If that wasn't enough, Flame is really picking up the pace on her leveling Red Side. Once she figured out you get more pets with your MM as you level, she has been making me run paper missions like a maniac. Sometimes she'll wait for us to get into a big team, but most of the time she is too impatient. Given that she has a 7:30 bedtime, I can see her wanting to get in as much CoX as she can. I don't think it'll be too much longer before Takes Care Of Pets hits level 20.

Sister Flame has some pretty simple thoughts towards the state of the game.

"It's fun." Flame says. "It's always been fun. You get to be a hero or a villain. That is the coolest. Plus, I'm kind of famous here."

An 8 year old with a bit of an ego who can hack into her old man's computer... Yep, I am in trouble.

Apart from CoX, Sister Flame is doing well in real life. She's excelling at school, beat her bully problem (the bully is now one of her friends, but Sister Flame tells me she's keeping a close eye on her.... just in case there is a relapse), minding her manners and enjoying life. She told me to tell you all thanks for playing CoX with her, she hopes you're having fun and that when she has her "Not looking for team" flag on, it means she's not looking for a team.

P.S. Oh yeah. Almost forgot. Sister Flame still thinks that out of all the "makers" of the game (re: rednames), War Witch is still the coolest and best of them because she talked to her and sent her a letter. Flame wants me to mention that every time I post and update so War Witch doesn't forget.

Well, that is a QFT if I ever saw one!

Judging by the commentary, there are battalions of heroes waiting for the hologram of Sister Flame to invite them to a dance contest in MA. From my own experience, however, these things cannot be rushed, so I hope we all can wait patiently and politely for the Muse to visit Sister Flame.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

I have been calling clockwork "click-clacks" in my own mind ever since I read "clicky-clacks" here.

And this left me in hysterics. Fortunately, unlike Dark Voltage, I hadn't yet taken the drink of water I was about to. But I did have to set the glass down real quick.

Happy Birthday to Sister Flame!

In her honor, I made a custom group on test for a mission, and named them Clicky-Clacks. Unfortunately you can't use their regular appearance, so they're a rogue clockwork faction that look like small bots.

Sure, you can do a mission using just clockwork. But I want to modify them so they work across all levels, which isn't doable at this time. Plus, I wanted to customize some of them, which you cannot do.

So I ended up just making the little bots and going with that.

I've been playing CoH pretty much since it was in Beta. I read this post and it has inspired me to allow my 4 and a half year old to play! She's been asking to play for some time now and I was unsure. Now, it sounds like a great idea! Thank you for posting this for us! Congrats to you and to your little one!

What a cool, and cute story. My son is 8 and he plays CoH/V with his cousin that is 11. There are plenty of funny moments and he gets a kick out of watching me do the STF because you get to fight Lord Recluse.

He has a blaster that is around lvl 30 but he spends more time creating characters than anything else.

All three of my daughters treat the costume creator like one great big dress up box. The only update they really worry about is what new costume pieces are available .

Many thanks for all the B-day wishes. Sister Flame sends her best and wants every to know she had a great birthday. She didn't get to play any CoX on her birthday, but she spent three hours at an amusement place for her birthday.
