That was the secodn thing that popped into her mind. Flame is pretty quick to draw a parallell to anything she sees in-game to an alternative media type.

She's also convinced that everything she sees outside of CoX is stollen from "the makers" because CoX can do no wrong.

Another quick update:

Ouroboros is a big hit with Sister Flame.

We hit level 25, so I took her to Ouroboros to get her portal. I asked her if she wanted to run some missions and she said "Sure". So, we ran the Pilgrim's mission arc and she thought it ranked right up there with Frostfire.

Things she liked about the arc:

(a) Most of the missions were fairly short and to the point. I think we did the whole arc in a leisurely 30 minutes.

(b) She liked rescuing Lazarus and having him fighting along side us. (Reminded me to introduce her to the Faultline arc)

(c) The idea of Time Travel made her feel like Doctor Who. (Yes, all of my daughters enjoy the new series and they are well versed on the Who Universe).

(d) She also liked the idea she could go back and do some missions she missed via Flashback.

(e) The level scaling took her by surpise, but she liked the idea as well as the challenge that went along with it.

I guess my next goal is to get her within Lusca level range and surprise her with that.

BTW, _Wyll_, with the MA now finally allowing Sister Flame to make her mission (and yes, I will also be playing it), I think it's time for Flame to make her video debut. Please ask her if she would like to appear in the trailer I'll be making for Issue 14, and if she does, send me a PM.

Yes, I saw a screenshot of her "swimming" near the tram one time.

To Wyll, definitely run her through the Faultline arcs; some of the best arcs in the game, IMHO, with several "rescue and fight with" missions, unique maps, several EBs/AVs and time travel to boot.

Oh and _WYLL_ I would bet this is one of the most bookmarked threads on the forums. Never feel as if you are taking away from the others. We can all find a thread to argue in whenever we want.

But we can't always find a thread to read and reread and smile at...show folks...this is one of those threads that people show off proudly. Like that one gentleman wrote, this is the type of thread you show to someone to highlight the better aspects of gaming and community.

My eight year old has been playing on his own for the past two years (his mains are the mighty Mistryus Stranger and the evil Doctor Mind Conchroul... his spelling reflects the fact that he's only in second grade, I'm afraid). He learned to read the Zone names before that by sitting on my lap and being "mouse captain". That is, it was his job to click on doors, glowies, and other clickables, while it was my job to move and fight.

My favorite moment from watching him play by himself was when he turned toward me one day and said "I don't like Freakshow, Mommy... they get up."

And he won't go to Dark Astoria. He actually had a nightmare after the first time, so I support him in this boycott.

She has an amazing knack of getting to independence port to find lusca aka the "monsie"

She loves riding the elevators and knows that the hosptial ones only go down so she has to find trouble to goto the doctor to ride the elevator again.

The scariest thing is she keeps asking to goto Pocket D.....

Thankfully, we stick to the more quiet times for Pocket D on freedom, but there was one time we were on Virtue (long story) and Sister Flame wanted to go to Pocket D...

All I can say is that Sister Flame has made up a story arc that would put George Lucas to shame.

Not to take anything away from Sister Flame's story, because what I've read so far sounds really cool, but you aren't setting the bar too high here.

You know how some folks say that if you give a thousand monkeys typewriters and an infinite amount of time, one would eventually come out with a work of Shakespeare.

The works of George Lucas? Ten gorillas, two months, tops. Add another week for Splinter of the Mind's Eye.

Comparable to Lawrence Kasdan (the screenwriter for Return of the Jedi), perhaps?

Barbara Hambly wrote Planet of Twilight (widely regarded as the worst book in the Expanded Universe).

Just looked it up, looks like I was wrong. Splinter of the Mind's Eye was written by Alan Dean Foster, who was the ghost writer of the novelization of Star Wars (Lucas received writing credit). Foster was contracted to write it as the basis for a low budget sequel to Star Wars just in case Star Wars flopped. By the time the book was published, Star Wars was a raging success, and Lucas decided that a grander story was warranted, and the plot of Splinter was never developed into a movie. As there are quite a few risque scenes between Luke and Leia, the book has been officlally denied as part of the canon.

If you ever get the urge, bring her by Justice so she can meet Mr. Awesome. I think a hero who get's his powers through positive thinking would mesh well with her need to see Bears in Caves...I don't know how I just know.

Plus I smile ALL the time so nothing is gonna hit me.
