I think Sister Psyche is like Selene from the Hellfire Club. She's nearly 80 years old and no one in the CoX gameworld seems to wonder how or why she's still young. They fall all over themselves explaining Statesman's and Recluse's longevity. Why not her? She did stop Nemesis in the early part of the 20th century. She isn't a private sort of person, it's not a secret. Why isn't it even included in puff news about her?

She makes the journos and fans forget!

She's evil I tells ya! Evil ancient telepathic redhead and she's going to marry Manticore and mind jump into him and continue to live forever!

EDIT: Or make him into a evil immortal telepathic vampire like her!!!!!!!

Thanks for the answers Ex and Obsidious! I think I'll try to get in.

I'm most curious about this comment:

[/ QUOTE ]I won't speak for Ex, but during the Dress Rehearsal, each rehearsal lasted about 30 minutes. There's a bit of gathering before the event, and some fun afterwards.

[/ QUOTE ]
Unless it breaks a non-disclosure agreement, when/what/how did this Dress Rehearsal happen? Sounds fun!

Also thanks in advance for recording the event for those of us who can't or won't be lucky enough to get in! That takes the sting (of the Manticore) out of the exclusivity of the wedding.

Brief closed beta. Apparently, my invitation got eaten in the wilds of the Internet. 8(

Once a person has attended the wedding they will get a token, not a physical token but event token which will not allow them entrance a second time. Hopefully this helps to quell some concerns.

Person = Character?
or
Person = Account/Global?

Actually, I'll be hanging out in Pocket D with at least another one of my DJs. Because we're silly like that. And we are -totally- claiming the bar tomorrow night.

That suspiciously labeled bottle of clear liquid? Sooo mine!

We'll be throwing a continuing party, and likely start it all early, keeping up with any announcements on-air. I'll be moving from Atlas Park to Mercy Island, and back to the Pocket D.

I DO need someone that can fit inside this cake though for the bachelor party. Aaaaanyone?

[/ QUOTE ]

wait wait wait.......that clear liquid's yours? im sorry, i think i may have drank it already

Um, it has been explained. She's naturally long-lived (only ages at at least 1/2 human normal speed) and her body didn't age at all when she's mind-riding someone.

Sorry, conspiracy theory debunked! BOOM!

Still here, even after all this time!

RE: the live event

Casual players ain't on test, yo.

In a more verbose fashion: I realize that CoH is a very friendly game to us casual folks, and I don't mind the occasional hardcore fanservice. Y'all go have a good time with your $10 wedding packs.

BUT... it's never fun to be so obviously disinvited to party with the cool kids.

I look forward to the resumption of normalcy, ie. events which are advertised more than 2 days in advance, last longer than 3 hours, and don't require some new installation of software.

Let us not even bother with the fact that only a fraction of a percent of the hardcore CoH folks will actually get in- these other hurdles block me and players like me far more effectively than some usher ever could.

So, in the future, Ex, Lighthouse- could we have more community building please, and less community exclusion? I believe that is your job, yes?

Statesmonkey Sez: Lighten up! It's a game, for Lincoln's sake!
Also: Six years of casual play begins to look an awful lot like one year of hardcore play.

Well, in this case Casual_Player, I think that its an effort to include everyone in the community. Its -very- difficult to attempt this on each server - and causing for far fewer chances for a person to see the actual Live Event.

Besides! It isn't hard to get onto Test at all. If I can do it, a monkey can do it, and-- Heeeey, waitasec.

Read the instructions on how to create a new loader which leads to test (make a separate folder in your coh program files locale to keep them separated) and follow the other instructions to get your characters transferred. They don't "leave" live, they're merely copies which then can't be moved back.

It's not that hard to get on. It's more difficult, I would say, to get on at 3PM pacific for a lot of folks, than to get on test.

I think you need to look into your emailers. I haven't changed email addresses since starting CoH nearly 45 months ago, and I didn't get a double xp mailer or wedding package/Valentines day mailer, either. I am not alone on this. Surprisingly, I did buy 1 Wedding package and got 2 emails, 1 verify the purchase and 1 saying my account was upgraded. Oh and if I thought it was really worth buying, I would have bought 2 one for my second account that's nearly 36 months old.

I am not a hardcore player. I'm casual. And I've got a character in AP on Test right now, waiting for ... well, for fifteen hours from now.

Just to be clear, the Bachelor/ette parties are on the test server too, or can anyone who pops over to Pocket D from any of the servers participate in those?

I don't mind missing the wedding, but I wouldn't mind participating in the party goodness.

casual players are on test. anyone can get on test. I consider myself a casual player and I find myself on test now and again to try out new powers, see some changes, and play around.

Having this event on test the way it is is trying to get everyone involved. They cant make the rounds to all of the servers so the only way to give everyone a shot at being a part of the event is to have it on test.

You need to correct your email with NC then, or *sign up for the emails* because it IS an option you can decline. You may have simply checked the "don't send me any info" at the outset. Go back and check for it, I'm not quite sure exactly where to look since I've always got those things coming in

Of course all you otherwise need to do is sign up for updates from places like MMORPG.com or wherever else that spams the same news 15 minutes later

I'm signed up for emails but I haven't gotten this one yet. No, they don't usually go to my spam folder and I'm still getting responses from support when I /bug something.

I'm thinking of letting a little bit more time pass, till right around the 24 hour mark then letting Ex and the support guys know.

I have a specific folder in my inbox for COH related things, so I know I never miss em. Hope you get it, though it's just exactly the same as the Announcement page thing

Yeah, I'm just hoping it's not a glitch in their system. That'd suck for those that don't visit the forums or click the links in the updater.

I wonder if they don't send them out to you, if you spend blanketie blank blank amount of time in the game. I know of others that haven't gotten them as well.

I'm pretty sure e-mail correspondence you get from support, either for petitions or bugs, can be a different email address than the one in your account profile.

They are completely separate log-ins (support and account maintenance), and can have different e-mail addresses.

Can't hurt to check both to make sure they are correct, and that you are set to receive the newsletters.

I have two accounts, both with the same email address, and I only ever get one email announcement. Now this just may be their system seeing the same email address twice and sending it out only once. I'd have to change one and wait for the next mailing to know for sure.

Please keep in mind that our e-mails come from a bulk mailing source and depending on your spam filtering settings you may or may not see the e-mail. I personally have had our e-mails come through fine on one of my web based e-mail accounts but another one that I have tied to a different account always gets nuked.

So, be sure to double check your junk mail box.

I double checked both my login to the forums and NCSoft. They have the correct email address. I double checked both my PC and My laptop, no sign of the emails. The last emails I received where the thanks for purchasing wedding pack, and the upgrade email. I didn't receive a notice about double xp or the wedding/spring fling. I had a conversation with a long time vet, wednesday morning about the wedding edition. They new nothing about didn't get an email either. So its not just me.
