Not bad at all...

Did you let Pohsyb out of his box for this, or did you just slip a piece of paper with the questions on it through the food slot?

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been waiting for this feature for years.

This is a great addition. I will use it extensively, including such things as fiddling with my form slotting on my Kheldian.

My wife I am equally sure will completely ignore it, and go from the short texts.

A great way to implement it without drowning the non-numeric with an excess of numbers.

A reference to City of Data and Mids... that's kind of cool.

Looking forward to the 'more to come.'

Not concerning the "Real Numbers" but forgot something in the patch notes:

"Welcome to Vanguard" Mission is broke, doesn't give any Inf/XP

Bout time! Grats Devs, the interface is really nice.

I'm confused by some of the numbers. First off, i'm unclear on the difference between "Accuracy Bonus" and "ToHit". Under Base, my "ToHit" says 75.00%. Ok. Sounds reasonable. Then theres a Accuracy Bonus thing under that. it says 1.30x bonus. Then what confuses me is right under that, it says "Ultimate Accuracy Bonus" -.70x from self. so something on me is decreasing my accuracy by .7? Are my set bonuses working backwards? I have 2 full purple sets, and that should be upping my accuracy by 30% Should my accuracy bonus be 2.00x? Anyone have any insight into this? Also, popping a yellow increases my ToHit, not my accuracy. should that be? A basic yellow insps says +25% ACC. not +25% ToHit.

After last weekend, nope, it's been fixed. Yeah, it's kind of been fixed the way I fixed my cats, but it needed fixing as much as my cats needed fixing.

Where's Arcanaville when you need these calculations?

Accuracy and To-Hit are commonly confused terms ... so common, that even the game's "help text" is confused about it.

I can't answer that "-0.70x" accuracy bonus; I'd need more detail as to what your character is like.

But I can tell you that yellow inspirations have been giving to-hit bonuses for a long time now, and the "+ACC" in the description is a confusion. From what I remember, all the buffs in the game are to-hit-buffs (like yellow insps and tactics); and the only way to improve your accuracy bonus is via enhancements (and IO set bonuses).

If you need more detail, I'm sure someone will point you to Arcanaville's guide to defense. You'll find it in the Player Guides.

The cool part about this latest patch is that we'll be able to test-and-validate all the calculations made in guides like the ones that Arcanaville provided.

A: It helps level the playing field a bit for players that don’t go to out of game tools like City of Data or Mid’s Hero Designer. It makes it easy to see the cumulative effect of various set bonuses. It can help players make power and slotting choices because they can better understand just what those powers or enhancement slot choices are actually doing. Just the other day, I was playing a low level Warshade and used the Combat Attribute window to help me decide how to slot Dark Nova.

It needed fixing back in the closed beta when we told the devs about it. However that is neither here nor there.

I am enjoying this new feature. Now I just need to figure out how to actually use it.

This is all fantastic, but the one thing missing now is being able to see the change in these numbers _before_ you slot enhancement, in the popup alongside the %ages.

Then finally people might stop slotting hover and combat jumping for defence

I agree. Forget defense, it's much more fun to stash them full of unique global bonuses, especially for ATs that don't have many powers of their own that can slot them.

Ok. Now I know for sure it is my purple IO set bonuses that are affecting my -.70x accuracy issue.
I copied the toon to test and delted a whole purple set. The accuracy bonus went from 1.3 to 1.15. and the Ultimate accuracy bonus went from -.7 to -.85. Deleting another whole purple set removed the ultimate accracy bonus part, and now i just have an accuracy bonus of 1.0.
So it makes sense that the accuracy bonus would be 1.3 because i have two set bonuses that were giving me 30% more accuracy, (hence the 1.3). BUt it is confusing to read the ultimate accuracy bonus as a negative number. I'm thinking this needs to be bugged, and that it's just displaying backwards. It should say I have a +0.3 bonus, and not a -.7 bonus. I hope it's just displaying that way, and not acting that way.

Just noticed something else too. The status resistance from the IO Impervious Skin: Status Resistance says it provides 7.5% status resistance, and I have 2 of them, so it should be 14.1%. however, the attriibute window shows it only decreasing it by 13.04%. I shall /bug.

The point stands that it would be nice to see how enhancements will affect a power before being slotted (with actual numbers, not the ephemeral percentages you get in the enhancement screen). That's still a UI issue that's never been satisfactorily resolved post-ED (for me, anyway). And "copy to test first" isn't exactly a boffo solution, either.

Ideally you'd be able to "test drive" an enhancement without having to purchase it first (maybe right-click the enhancement in the store window and it shows you a breakdown of how it would add/affect any applicable powers on your character).

Regardless, kudos to pohsyb for getting the numbers into the hands of the players, a long-wanted and much appreciated feature.
