No one even wants to comment on it? That's sad I r sad panda

I'll comment. More of a question rather. What's the mindset on taking Kick? I see you have a chance for recharge proc in it, but it won't do anything unless you plan on using it in your chain, and Kick doesn't stand out to me as a dps machine.

Yeah. Council maps, check this link if you're not sure what I'm talking about.

I haven't searched for them so I don't know if they're in MA, but what about the maps that have prisons in them? The one's where when you die you go to the prison and not the hospital? Council maps I believe. Don't know for sure that using "BACK" would be counted as the prison cells though.
  4. Yeah, who knows. I figure after testing it like that, I'm better off just using straight dmg io's if I want it to hurt more.
  5. Ok. It was against a mob of about 7-8 council lts. I was just standing there. Noone else in mish. I was just watching the numbers I knew my lightning field to do normally, and watching for any "extra" numbers to go flying off and didn't see any. Also, I didn't see any in the combat log. Like "Your lightning field does an extra xx points of lethal dmg" or such. I just figured it would have hit at least once in a 3 minute span. Just makes me wonder if it's worth it to toss the procs in, if most things would be dead before something would fire.
  6. Just so I'm clear, multiple "chance for" procs should work in an aoe dmg toggle like Lightning Field? Cause I tossed three in there the other day and stood near a baddie for minutes and didn't see anything in the combat log, or anything out of the norm dmg number fly off their heads.

Wow. My first quote from a redname. Granted its a simple answer but still. Now how bout my 2 Impervious skins 7.5%'s not giving 15% and only giving 13.04% resistance question?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I already answered that.
    [ QUOTE ]
That's because of how Mez resistance works. The effective mez duration becomes Base_Duration/(1+Mez_Resistance), so with 15% (2*7.5%) mez resistance, you get X/(1+.15) = .8696X, or a decrease of (1-.8696) = .1304, or 13.04%.

In other words, everything is working just fine, it's just that the IO descriptions show how much Mez Resistance they give, and the Combat Attributes window shows how much of a reduction that Resistance results in.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]
Sorry missed that part. I'll take your word for it. I get lost with all the math people come up with. Looking at it, x/(1+.15) to me would be essentially x/(1.15) which would then be 1.15x. And what are you using for X? Base_Duration? What is the base duration? wouldn't it be 1.0? Or 100% duration? And decreasing that by 15% would be 85%? And if we're supposed to be getting "real numbers", then why are we expected to know the theories behind the math in order to actually get these "real numbers"?
On second thought, nevermind. Don't answer. My brain hurts. All I know is it decreases it. Yay.

it says "Ultimate Accuracy Bonus" -.70x from self

Thats a bug. For now, just add one to any contributer under Accuracy.

  9. Just noticed something else too. The status resistance from the IO Impervious Skin: Status Resistance says it provides 7.5% status resistance, and I have 2 of them, so it should be 14.1%. however, the attriibute window shows it only decreasing it by 13.04%. I shall /bug.

I'm confused by some of the numbers. First off, i'm unclear on the difference between "Accuracy Bonus" and "ToHit". Under Base, my "ToHit" says 75.00%. Ok. Sounds reasonable. Then theres a Accuracy Bonus thing under that. it says 1.30x bonus. Then what confuses me is right under that, it says "Ultimate Accuracy Bonus" -.70x from self. so something on me is decreasing my accuracy by .7? Are my set bonuses working backwards? I have 2 full purple sets, and that should be upping my accuracy by 30% Should my accuracy bonus be 2.00x? Anyone have any insight into this? Also, popping a yellow increases my ToHit, not my accuracy. should that be? A basic yellow insps says +25% ACC. not +25% ToHit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Where's Arcanaville when you need these calculations?

Accuracy and To-Hit are commonly confused terms ... so common, that even the game's "help text" is confused about it.

I can't answer that "-0.70x" accuracy bonus; I'd need more detail as to what your character is like.

But I can tell you that yellow inspirations have been giving to-hit bonuses for a long time now, and the "+ACC" in the description is a confusion. From what I remember, all the buffs in the game are to-hit-buffs (like yellow insps and tactics); and the only way to improve your accuracy bonus is via enhancements (and IO set bonuses).

If you need more detail, I'm sure someone will point you to Arcanaville's guide to defense. You'll find it in the Player Guides.

The cool part about this latest patch is that we'll be able to test-and-validate all the calculations made in guides like the ones that Arcanaville provided.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok. Now I know for sure it is my purple IO set bonuses that are affecting my -.70x accuracy issue.
I copied the toon to test and delted a whole purple set. The accuracy bonus went from 1.3 to 1.15. and the Ultimate accuracy bonus went from -.7 to -.85. Deleting another whole purple set removed the ultimate accracy bonus part, and now i just have an accuracy bonus of 1.0.
So it makes sense that the accuracy bonus would be 1.3 because i have two set bonuses that were giving me 30% more accuracy, (hence the 1.3). BUt it is confusing to read the ultimate accuracy bonus as a negative number. I'm thinking this needs to be bugged, and that it's just displaying backwards. It should say I have a +0.3 bonus, and not a -.7 bonus. I hope it's just displaying that way, and not acting that way.

so devs im sorry if i over looked this but i cant find any where that tells us if the patch yall have been talking about on the test is going live before double xp weekend?

    [/ QUOTE ]

We've been trying to geta straight answer about this since the day it came out. sigh. I'm afraid that because of all the other changes in the patch that still have issues it wont make it. I don't believe they can roll out a part of a patch. I suppose it's possible, but we'll see. Here's Hopin!
  13. Tried quick way again and still didnt work. Don't know why. But the second way you described worked just fine.
  14. Heres something to mention. I tried logging in to the server to make sure I could, and I got a socket error 11004. Teamspeak forums led me to it not liking Knightsofneee.com as a servername, and suggested I use the ip address instead. I pinged knightsofneee.com and got the ip that way and it worked fine. figured I'd throw that in there incase anyone else has the same issue. If hando's cool with it I can post the ip here, or he can I guess. ALSO...it says a login name is optional, but if you put one, it says incorrect login, or at least it did for me.
  15. It's set then. I'll pop in teamspeak at 4. And I'm pretty sure my mic is cooperating. Should be. Dang thing cost me $170.
  16. Same. As a placate I promised to was the cars and balance the checkbook for her so the wife aggro should be at a minimum.

I kept picturing Back Alley Brawler making "jazz hands" and singing "Mammy" during that one TFII interview.

  19. @Knight Kat. fraps/demoediting/flash/quicktime/moviemaker. I do mainly tiny little clips for people who ask for laughs or amazement. Things like SG website splash screens, or forum avatars. I get at least 2 comments a week asking how I did my forum avatar.
  20. Ok. Here's what I would Really love to see. I want to see teams of two. Standing about 300 yds apart. Pick a baddie, launch it at the other team. That team then launches back. Go back and forth til the baddies dead. Your team scores a point if the other team kills the baddie. Pick a nice spot. Over a river or something. Baddie Volleyball. Let's get it going. New ladder's and all.

Run across a skiing bug and a couple other in my sg have as well.

If you enter a mission or zone out of Pocket D while your ski counter is still going you will be unable to ski again. It will not start your timer when you go through the first gate. This persists through a logoff and login.

The fix seems to be you go ahead and start the run like normal. And even though it doesn't start, it technically does start. You hit all the gates and get a "run complete" message. Then you can re-ski like normal.

Ya, this happened to me this morning. Once I figured out what to do though, I was very impressed with my 99:59 run time. I want like a falling apart rusted through copper medal for that or something.

Well, I think I know what happened...The horoscope writer obviously ticked off the Entities, and ya know how much paper people use around there? The shredding, and the buying of more paper, and the shredding...so wasteful, that the trees finally snapped, and broke new ground to go after the city scoop. Lemur Lad took a picture of a super hero, in a not so good position, and is now being hunted by a sg full of fire.rads. Tundara, acting so innocent in this entire scheme actually sent out a angry mob of otters in chase of the city scoop. The rikti, seeing a large amount of creatures in one area, sent out many many rikti down to destroy all life, as usual. Thus they had to evacuate the building, to protect the lives of all in the building. I wont expect to see them alive again, for as you all know, nothing is more powerful then an angry mob of trees, fire.rads, rikti, AND tundara's mercenaries. The reason no one but me knows of this (except me, I was wearing a tin foil hat at that time, so I wasnt effected) Was because the otters have been harvesting thousands of bombs filled with sleeping gas. Lighthouse being the first to awaken from this gas, found the note. May the City Scoop writers not only be remembered for their writing, but for the sacrifice they made on this day.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup. That seems to be the most logical explanation to me.
  23. None of this bodes well for the things in the game now that aren't working properly and need to be addressed. I don't really need to name them, most people have stated a few already, and I'm sure everyone has their list. So does this mean that going forward theres going to be a statue of limitations on game content being deemed fixable? Like after a year or so of having not addressed a major concern or bug that the devs are aware of, we might as well give up all hope that it'll ever be fixed?

On another note, I often wonder just how many times the devs post news and info that they're unhappy about, but either can't or are afraid to say their true feelings about, in fear of their bosses(a.k.a States and Posi) coming down on them for it. In other words, how often to they just take the corporate "be a team player" attitude when posting info to us about things they either don't plan on changing, or are supposedly, "working as intended".
  24. The contest rules say that you may only submit up to 4 attachments in the email submission. So if you choose to go the .jpg route, and you do an 8 page comic, are you supposed to put 2 pages per .jpg? Also, the software doesn't allow you to publish to .pdf files, or save as .jpg files. So you gotta do kind of do some photoshopping if ya want to go the .jpg route. The only option I have is the publish to Hypercomics thing. Have we figured out why this is?
  25. From the contest rules page:
All entries must be received via e-mail prior to 11:59pm (CDT), Monday, April 27, 2007 (the “Contest Conclusion”) and must be in English. No other methods of entry will be accepted. Limit: one entry per person.
