Hooray! I love winter, and this event was so much fun when I tried it on the test server! Jingle Jet ftw!

Any word on when the presents are going to appear?

Seriously been looking since this went live and nothing at least on Pinnacle.

Yup, I've been flying around since it went live too, also on Pinnacle - nothing Heroside that i can see.

It takes a while. This exact same thing happened last year.
Cool, winter fun! One thing I'm curious about, the article mentions: With every present that Heroes and Villains open successfully, a Candy Cane will appear.
What meaneth this "successfully"? Only when the 'You got a present!' thing comes up, or...? Personally, I think the salvage should come from fighting the snowbeasties--give more reason for people to stay and fight 'em!
This is the best time to get your Red Cap Daggers for DBs on both Blue and Red side (Mostly red though)
I can't wait to get my snowballs again!

Thanks for the feedback folks. We reset the event on Pinnacle and verified that presents are now showing up in zones. And man, my ski run was only 37 seconds 
I'll have to work on that some more tonight!

What zones have presents? I didn't see any specific mention in the announcement
Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)
I started a thread before I saw this. I really like the ski chalet, I really like the Father Time mission.
But I really hate the presents. They're antisocial, they discourage teaming, they encourage working in zones where you'll earn no XP, and they encourage leaving any spawned snowmen behind.
My arcs are constantly shifting, just search for GadgetDon for the latest.

Winter goodies are lots of fun! I'll have to work on my ski time too dang...
But one thing I disliked from last year's was the mission for Father Time now. The enemies have some new effects(quicksand ugh) and the kidnap bug likes to kick in with baby time =(
Other than that, good times!
(oh and Santa didnt seem to visit RV on Freedom)
Getting all the badges on the ski run are just turning out to be a practice in frustration. The apparent need for running and/or jump boosts is a pain.

Yeah? And what did you have on you?
My Brute with Superspeed, Swift, and Sprint all slotted with at least one run enhancement got 22 seconds with no problem once he had speedboost. Keep getting around 25 without it.
My Defender with sprint with one run enhancement in it, accelerated metabolism, and hurdle can get in at around 25 with speedboost and runs at around 27~28 without.
My poor PB with an unslotted sprint, swift slotted for fly, and the safeguard movement boost temp power can't seem to get lower then 29 with speedboost, and can't break 30 without it.
Sadly, the latter is my badge hunter. Its very frustrating.
A nice undocumented bug fix, one I'd missed on test: Snaptooth's lair no longer has minimap errors. Oddly, part of the fix seems to have involved rotating that whole sub-map 45 degrees clockwise. But thanks!
Somehow it never feels like time to get my Christmas shopping done until I've ice-skated out to a malevolent snowman, sighted in my red and green targeting lasers on it, and watched an arsonist blow it away after it returns fire.
One request, for next year: even if it means turning Father Time and the Candy Keeper off, and turning off Mysterious Gift spawns, please unlock the Ski Chalet right after (American) Thanksgiving. It's a gorgeous set, it's part of the holiday tradition for me now, and I've been missing it.

Yep, was going to say the same thing. Very surprised they still haven't changed the way the presents are done.
All they'd need to do is if you are in a team and someone clicks a present, all get credit for it toward the badge, and all get the reward if it is "nice". I see more even more bickering in this event than on the Halloween one. People fighting over presents isn't very Christmasy.
The ski chalet part though is great.
I have yet to even SEE a present! Where are they?
I was present hunting in Nerva on my MM. There are some, a very few in St. Martial. I think maybe it would be good to up the number of presents that spawn. Get a few teams rolling through the zones and it will be very difficult to get that danged badge...
