Editor introduction thread
The only videos I've done are the three CoH/V ones available in my signature. To make my videos I use Zloth's demo edit/launcher programs, virtualdub, and windows movie maker 2.
I may make more videos in the future, but lately I hardly even have much time to play .
@Knight Kat. fraps/demoediting/flash/quicktime/moviemaker. I do mainly tiny little clips for people who ask for laughs or amazement. Things like SG website splash screens, or forum avatars. I get at least 2 comments a week asking how I did my forum avatar.

"Curse you Perry the Plata...wait, is that Love Handel?" - Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, Phineas and Ferb
@NetMinder
Been working on this for way too long. Im up to about 2:40 of 4:20, but the lack of ragdoll entries makes the combat scenes alot harder to do. I just need to bunker down and finish the silly thing.

Hey, everyone!
I've never finished a film -- closest I got was storyboarding out a humorous take on a stalker's love life (set to an a capella rip-off of "Happy Together").
I did, however, write a demo editor a long time ago to help out in that project, so maybe this new forum will re-interest me in the project. If any of you would like to use the editor, feel free to barrage me with questions or requests. I haven't messed around with it in over a year, though, so no promises on whether I remember how it works.
Hey, I'm Neutra and I use Zloth's Demo Launcher, FRAPS, Sony Vegas 7.0, Virtual Dub and DivX. I've been making trailer type videos lately, but I have some side projects in the works that are more story oriented.
I love the demo editing potential that our game has and plan to make a software program later on (in Windows Programming I or something) that will let a user enter in the coordinates for both CAM and NPC movement as well as have some drop down menus for Models, Maps, FX and MOVs. You'll still have to plan out exactly what you want and divide it up into chunks/scenes and just enter the chunks/scenes into the software and it will spit out the code for it. Easy to say, not too hard to code, but it will take time, which I don't have a terrible lot of right now
I'm def going to be coming into this section of the forums a lot later on to see what everyone is working on. We have a lot of awesome video makers. Take care all!
Greetings,
I'm Jester, from Sept 2005 - Sept 2007 I ran w00t Radio. I organized player events, official events and just generally did the whole DJ thing.
This last September we converted over to w00t Studios, a place for player created content and some of our own original content.
We have a Video Depot for hosting user created videos, this depot will display videos that are hosted on around 30 different video hosting sites including YouTube and Stage6.
We also allow you to uplaod your videos directly to our site with a 25mb max file size and nearly any format video accepted, and the best part, we don't convert to some other format like YouTube does.
Also just like YouTube the system provides embeding links for you to place your videos wherever.
We have an Image Depot for hosting screenshots, character art, etc, that stores your images as they were uploaded and doesn't watermark anything, so anyone can download them if they wish as they were originally uploaded.
We have a Fan Fiction section for all the writers out there (no Freedom Phalanx pr0n please, midget ghost widow pr0n might be ok).
Finally we also have a File Depot for folks to stuff files to share with others, this file depot will take CoH Demorecord files without the need to zip them.
We currently have 5 regularly produced podcasts, constantly updated news on numerous MMO's with automated e-mailing by game, show, and general categories for those who sign up, a full commenting system for folks to leave their comments about Images, Videos, Shows, and News, and an instant messenger program that allows you to connect to Yahoo, AIM, MSN, ICQ, Coldfront's IRC Servers, or user created chatrooms within the system all while chatting in an MMO themed chat window (its not a perfect system but it works till we find a new programmer to work on it).
I myself run w00t, do most of the news stories and am working regularly on 3 audio podcasts all about MMO's in between my hours playing on Justice or Guardian.
If your interested any of our free services (without annoying ads) check out www.w00tstudios.net

I started on demos ... well, way back on the pre-beta, pre-NCSoft boards in the old Game Videos topic I guess. And I dove into that topic hard because I had so much fun with the "gun camera" feature back in the early 90's with Air Warrior.
When Pohsyb (or was it Poz?) posted in the CoH beta boards how to make and play back demos, I was all over them. It didn't take long to get really tired of making shortcuts so I popped together a quick demo launcher.
I figured out that fiddling with the demos could make some pretty funny things happen, so I started trying to figure out what really did what and writing them down. That eventually became the Demo Edit guide.
But in fiddling with demos, I found a lot of edits that got pretty tedious. We didn't know about the -Disable2D option that turns text bubbles and whatnot off so removing them meant manually going in and changing the text to empty strings. Getting rid of 'zombies' popping up after they had been deleted was a pain, too. So the demo editor was born. Not really to replace editing with Notepad, but to take care of all that really tedious stuff.
Hmmm, so I guess the Demo Launcher and the Demo Editor are pretty much products of my own laziness.
Hail sloth!

Hello,
I imagine many folks here already know me as the keeper of the CoH Codex for all your demo model, fxs, movs, and maps needs. I've been quietly working on adding some new features to it (for example, the visual list of models) and have some more ideas for it in the pipe that will hopefully get off the ground.
Haven't ever actually finished any movies (that I made public anyway). Lots of ideas, but my eyes are bigger than my stomach. Apart from the Codex, I've tossed out an occasional edited screenshot, but that's about it.
With the new activity generated by this board and the reappearance of some classic demo folks (Hi Balshor!), I'll also get an updated demo guides & tools list put together sometime soon.

I'd say what company I work for in the Media/Entertainment world (although a couple have already guessed it)--- but then someone would call it up and get me in trouble (it is my first year out of school now and I interned with them) for hanging out on these Boards throughout the day.
So, how's everyone? I'm about to start work on a video :P

Godhood via laziness! Now see, there's a statement every theologian can get behind. (Get behind with a poison, back-stabbing dagger, that is.)
Thanks folks!
P.S. And Shego, we can figure out the company easily enough. It's the one with the best video cards in their PCs. You wouldn't settle for less.
That reminds me... aren't the 8900s arriving next month? Time to place in another Purchase Order...
Welp. since the devs gave us this wonderful forum for us video editors. I think we should all introduce ourselves
I'm lucius schwarzhelm/@sokarus. I use adobe primere, and do alot of hellsing AMVs. but I have done some city of heroes video, and I plan more in the future.
