Looks good again! Some minor spelling errors, but the new columns are nifty!

Keep it up

Very nice. It's crazy how much stuff can get put into these so fast. Love the restaurant ad by the way.

Hey--my maps don't look like that!

Looks good (not just saying that because I got interviewed in the arts section :P )

Once again another awesome issue hot on the heels of the last! High on the chuckle-factor - some witty stuff in there! Even a few "cool, I didn't know that" moments too.

Minor beef, but the Chinese proverb that opens the issue is misquoted. It's "May you live in UNinteresting times" No biggie though.

Wasn't the answer for 18 across of the crossword used before?

Are we running out of rednames here?

Three different people made the crosswords, although the same person did the layout. It's bound to lead to a certain repetition. You've got to expect a certain amount of repetition. I'm sure it's bound to lead to an unavoidable amount of repetition.

Love the new columns. I’m not going to say a word about spelling, because my spelling is atrocious.

Overall a great edition.

I'm really starting to enjoy The Scoop. The first issue I was mildly confused as to what person and tone it was supposed to be taken as, but I really don't think that was supposed to matter... anyway... You guys are doing a great job and really starting to come together as a group. I await to see the next issue and hope for more sections, perhaps?

[/ QUOTE ] No worries on that score. We're following our original gameplan of starting slow and getting our feet under us. We're bringing in new voices all the time, just to keep people from feeling burned out, and to keep things fresh. With a little luck, this will be something that will be rolling for a long time to come.

Sounds like a winning plan to me.

There are actually three versions, one of which is "May Olive, in dress, stink dimes."

Very nice work indeed. Keep it up, and hope to see some interviewers running around Guardian sometime soon.

Wiki isn't the answer to everything Seems like there's two versions. This was just the one I was familiar with is all.

[/ QUOTE ]

For what it's worth, Wikipedia is correct on the part that there's no actual phrase in Chinese (that a Chinese like myself knows of, anyway) that goes like that.

So I suppose it doesn't really matter that much.

1) Close, and before anyone else asks: yes, several of the rednames were in the other crosswords. I chose most of the clues/solutions based on a "red name" theme. I accidentally kept 14 down in (the only clue/solution not tied to a red name).

2) Almost. There are a few more, but I thought those remaining unused would be nearly impossible for people to get.

A lot of crossword puzzles contain redundant clues and solutions to help fill areas of puzzles.

I'm glad that people are enjoying the crosswords.

Unusually large number of typos in the first paragraph of the first page: Overbrook doesn't have an "e" in the name, unpleasantness is spelled with "ant" not "ent," and there's a transposition in the word "capturing." Might want to clean that up.
