That's actually a disturbing idea. Yin is Mary-Sue enough already. She's already taken over Sister Psyche's role and wants to be the uber-bestest psychic around. The idea she's now "creating" dimensions is one the devs should run away from... and someone needs to check if the Scarlet Witch is dead or not. She might be next.

Hehe, yeah, they look wonderful. Which is, indeed, why I am bummed about my conversion into the new Rewards program meaning I'll be a year away.
If the set was added to the current Vet Rewards programme - you'd be about 5 years away.
Takes some of the sting out... I hope! -

EPIC.
Any quibbles with continuity/versions are forgiven when a show is this much fun.

- amazon.ca - Not in Stock
- bestbuy.ca - only offers AE edition
- futureshop.ca - only offers AE edition
Nothing in the brick and mortar stores either, WalMart, the Source, Zellers... nada as of 08/18/2010.
Enjoying my NCSoft pre-purchase goodness sure, but an actual physical box to buy? Guess I wanted to weigh in with my two cents: I have no sympathy for people who have no knowledge of what my theoretical alternatives are. -
Waltzed in there myself this morning with no more luck than my fellow Canuckleheads. At least there's some hope - I was given the same date of the 20th as the date they should have it instore.

Yet another option that went <poof> in CoV beta: Robot Masterminds originally had a totally different rifle that had a decidedly more "LazerTag" vibe to it. The model was changed close to the end of beta testing and I never could find out why. Wish I still had screenies.. but about 2 PCs and a few formatted hard drives later, no luck.
Pretty sure I brought this up at the beginning of weapons customization, but figured never hurts to ask again. -

<Wanders into a thread about which side arrows should be on>
Fantastic work Juggy! Can't even express how happy (and surprised!) I am over the piece! Outta-the-park as far as I'm concerned! Pfft .. arrows indeed! -

Even with those four options I'd be excited. There's enough maps, villain groups and backstory to craft some spectacular stories. Add mission entrance text, even limited NPC dialogue and I'll look for the button to pay for more-than-a-year-at-a-time option on the NCSoft site. -

My gut reaction: Why?

I'm devided
it seems like City is trying to play catch up with other games based on Fantasy content. I know there have been fantasy elements throughout and fantasy is no stranger to comics but it's never been a real FOCUS. In a sense, it seems like they are trying to cash in on the popularity of fantasy based games.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd say comics have been setting the precedents long before MMOs were more than vaporware. Otherwise Marvel's Savage Lands is just a Conan ripoff and DC's Thanagar is just Flash Gordon with a bunch of Hawk-man clones (some people may agree with both of these statements). Not to mention the boatloads of alternate magical realms and "Elseworld" timelines both companies have employed over the last couple decades. Comics have "borrowed" from other genres.. well.. since there's been comics!
[edited to add] I second the notion that the level 10-20 introduction sure-as-shootin' needs to be available to villains as well. I know a certain Dominator who specializes in Madness magics that'd stop at nothing to travel back in time 30-odd levels to sneak a peak in the Squad's musty libraries! -
This is an awesome explanation of how the Heavy Assaults work! In-character no less!!! I seriously hope this garners way more attention once the Issue 12 brouhaha settles down some. Them are some downright cunning and sneaky aliens! Thanks for the great post DW!

[u]Name[u]: Rogues Gallery
[u]Currently Recruiting[u]: Will be accepting new members with Issue 11's roster expansion. Until then, space is very limited, but not out of the question.
[u]RP Level[u]: Medium RP, actively enouraged IC SG-chat, but not fanatically enforced. We're fairly easy going there and don't expect everyone to be "on" 24/7
[u]Theme/Concept[u]: A Silver-Age inspired VG, we're costumed criminals and proud of it. The "sunglasses and trenchcoat" look is not for us. Colourful, charismatic yet deadly serious about crime.. and the heroes that get in our way. Very much along the lines of DC's Secret Society of Super Villains with very distinct and individualistic villains, banding together for the greater evil.
[u]Activity[u]: Roughly 40 different @globals, with no strict rules on alts. We straddle quite a few time zones, from PST to EST and a fair showing from GMT as well. Activity is usually heaviest evenings and weekends (by my EST clock anyways)
[u]Requirements for Membership[u]: No level requirements as Villains qualify on their concept, name, costume and backstory. No rules with regards to other VGs or activity/log-in (a head's-up on prolonged absences is always appreciated, however). We're looking for crafty and well-crafted villains yes.. but we're not out to monopolize your entire CoH/V experience. You're welcome to play your do-gooder types wherever you see fit, but there's no "heroic counterpart" SG (nor will there be!), so you're on your own... and fair game.
[u]Leadership[u]: Mindswipe, Mr. Mud
[u]In-Game Contact(s)[u]: @Mindswipe for in-game contact
[u]Out-of-Game Contact(s)[u]: CoV's Virtue Forum: Mindswipe and/or Mr. Mud
[u]URL[u]: <ul type="square">[*]Rogues Gallery[*] VirtueVerse [/list][u]Other Details[u]: [i] Warehouse 13 is our base of operations. Retro-fitted with all the mod-cons, we took over the abandoned warehouse during the first Arachnos Zig prisonbreak back in '05. SG-mode is appreciated up until the Infamy/Prestige penalties kick in; after that it's completely discretionary. SFs, RPvP zone events and the like come together as schedules and plots permit![i] -
Jiminy Jillikers! Can this deal get any better?
As a huge fan of the world story in this game, I officially claim the return of Manticore as the best of the "super sekrit surprises" so far! -

My only issue is - I'd like to see a better way to STORE recipes. An SG "recipe storage bin" would be very nice. Alternately, Recipe space in our personal Vaults.
[/ QUOTE ]
A short term solution can be to store it in one of your Blackmarket/Wentworths slots. It'll sit safe and sound without selling it if you don't put in a selling price, and recipes can be stacked up to a multiple of 10. Presto.. one slot holds ten respec recipes.
On a separate note, I'm sure Posi tried to watch his wording as carefully as possible on the "respec powers" part. Not as clear as possible perhaps, but every other mention in the article refers the recipe becoming a "freespec"; exactly what we have now. So I'd wager a 'No' to changing primary/secondary powersets. Just powers within the chosen sets.
Great new addition to an already fan-freakin-tastic Issue! -
One thing that's bothered me above and beyond the regular issues with defenses and other buggy attachments is the tech version of Inventions Crafting table. Now I remember bugging this in Issue10 beta, that the tech version, when placed turns into the Arcane wood-panelled version.
It's even "tech" in your placement window.. almost like it's taunting me with it's rotating goodness. It's the one thing that looks out of place amongst all the nice clean-white counters in my Inventions lab. -

Wiki isn't the answer to everything Seems like there's two versions. This was just the one I was familiar with is all. -
Once again another awesome issue hot on the heels of the last! High on the chuckle-factor - some witty stuff in there! Even a few "cool, I didn't know that" moments too.
Minor beef, but the Chinese proverb that opens the issue is misquoted. It's "May you live in UNinteresting times" No biggie though. -
Rogues Gallery
We're a growing VG that has a classic supervillain Silver/Golden age outlook. We try and avoid the demonic/goth/bonefreak look (unless pulled off spectacularly...of course). Think Legion of Doom from Challenge of the Superfriends era cartoons and you're on the right track. We run the gamut from global conquest to shameless personal gain. A heist or governmental coup? There's strength in numbers and the chance to do it in style!
Our villains are as colorful as their costumes and while not overly PvP at present, villains are just as defined by their nemeses/archenemies in our thinking. RP level is medium-or-more. Our villains continue to impress even each other with their creativity there.
Not overly tech-savvy in real-life - and no urge to get there - there's no website or teamspeak/ventrilo nonsense. Satisfaction comes ingame and in our exerience the most rewarding. Dedicated? yes! But we're not power-gamers or l33tists. The journey is always better than the destination (because there's little to do once you're there.. and yes..my parents dreaded taking me on roadtrips).
Our base is growing slowly (think abandoned factory) and is powered up/controlled. We're now at the point that we can build some functions to benefit all members. The hardest part is over!
