That's rather disappointing. Tankers and Scrappers are absolutely starving for new powersets. How about the in the meantime you guys port some powersets from other ATs over to them? Elec Armor would be a nice Tanker set, as would Dark Armor.
Elec Melee for Scrappers. Fire Melee, maybe Ice Melee too. And hell, Energy Melee for Scrappers too. Someone mentioned Energy Aura for defensive. Fire Armor would be cool too.
Brand new sets are great and all, but you guys got all these sets that could be easily ported over with minimal work. Seems like a waste.
Why don't we just get all these powers?
A powerset I'd like to see is nature/plant control. Vines, poisonous barb projectiles, giant plant creature summon, something along those lines.
No one has mentioned a Shovel offensive set? Shoveling is a gift!

There was probably a thread on this I missed because of weak search-fu, but whatever happened to distributing the 'new powerset for every AT' that was once advertised for the since-cancelled new box edition, among Issues 9-12?
If I9 and I10 come out with no powersets, and the devs are only considering new sets for at most 4 ATs in I11 or I12, what happened to the rest?
Not to bash this efforts, scrappers and tankers need the love first, but is there a long term plan for the rest?

We did plan out Power Sets for the retail box, but we've gone the route of free updates instead (woohoo!). Yep, we had some planned...and we thought about just putting those into updates as schedule permitted...
but then we thought it'd be cool if we polled the players what they wanted first. Not all of these power sets are of equal difficulty - some are tougher than others - but they are all possible. I can't promise exactly when it'll get in, but please know that we've heard loudly and clearly that players want new power sets.
BTW...Ball and Chain was my little addition last minute. It would be just be SO cool!

Absolutely, I kind of overthought my choices and went with Psionic Weapons and Shield Fighting, to match up with Shield Defense, and Growth. I figured you can have a psionic weapon to match energy weapon and we already have Martial Arts and Super Strength to match street fighting etc. etc.
It just seems that you could "psionic up" 2 handed weapons, hammers, anything...
Growth would be AWESOME though!!
Shields VERY comic booky and help a lot of "time travel" heroes etc.
Im sorry but im not shifting through all the posts to see if this was brought up so if it was I apologzie.
The ideas set forth are great for the most part (not sure what I would vote for yet) a few just seem like rehashes unintentionally (or maybe im just not seeing the whole vision behind them I dont know). So I thought I'd bring up some stuff that I have thought of, if anybody likes em cool if not then thats cool too. Just my thoughts:
One thing I have noticed that hasnt been touched on yet is a water power set (melee is possible for this). I know we have Ice this and that but that is not the same. I guess it would be more like ranged melee (the way I see it in my mind) and as such may be really hard to do technically (being that Im not a programmer for this I dont even know if it would be possible).
The idea behind it is based on the one villain in dark wing duck (i know that may be silly, but it had some great villains and Dark Wing is one of my favorite heroes from when i was a kid) He controlled the essence of water but was more melee about it then ranged. (Kind of in vain with Mr Fantasioc I guess with how he can stretch so technicall he's fighting melee but from farther away).
I dont know though, dont know if it could work, or if ranged melee is possible in this, or even if thats something you'd consider at all for these classes, as my idea is in no way fleshed out at all, and would require a lot of thought (needs to be balanced, the range on it couldnt be comparable to corruptor or blaster or whatever). I think it would be cool though to have water armor (either full body water effect or waves at yer feet as all turns to water where you stand, whatever) or be able to fight by punching with a small range. Just an Idea I thought of, water armor may even be more feasible, idk, then water melee. Just some stuff that hasnt been touched on at all I thought I'd bring to the plate here.
Anyway, thats all I got atm that I've thought of before you posted this and I thought I'd share the idea. If it's liked cool, if it isn't thats cool too. Just my thoughts

Agreed pay for the box. Put the others in recipes for those that don't want or can't afford upgrade.
Feed that altism. Could shorten them to 4 powers make new epic/patron sets. That needs alittle love also you know. All would make sweet mini sets also could combine shields a coulpe offense and few d. Energy exctra artist and fans would love you.
Still haven't finished all the current sets man can't you wait a couple more issues for some more : )

What you've never heard of The Wrecking Crew or one of their members, Thunderball ?
Sgt Liberty - 50 Martial Arts / Super Reflexes
Verdigris Eagle - 50 Archery / Energy Manipulation
Stormeye - 50 Storm Summoning / Electric Blast
Tanker primary and Scrapper secondary? Tanker primary being defensive and scrapper secondary being defensive. I 'think' you were looking for Tanker AND Scrapper secondaries, because those tanker primaries look very much offensive. Nevertheless, I choose Shield (Fighting?) because of abundance of natural offense and lack of natural defense for tanks. Willpower for scrappers for roughly the same reason.
Great to hear this. Most of these *could* be cool, but fear the "more of the same" potential. The hammer could be mace, swords we already have, street fighting could just be super strength moves. Staff however could cover new ground and be a fit for more concepts that aren't catered to.
By dual blades would we be talking about shorter/faster blades? Something in-between maybe claws and the sword sets with a few new moves? Energy blade? I do like that Carnie energy sword, wouldn't be for everyone though... and again we're at swords (please make this an invented temp though).
Psionic weaponry could be anything so... who knows? It does leave a lot of room for freshness if we're talking power-ring realm here.
I can picture cool ball-n-chain moves but... more concept limiting and typically more apt on brutes. Besides we've waited how long? Not gonna sign up for something with a built-in "expect this to take longer" mechanism unless it was one I'd been dying for.
Density control and FF sound like the best combinations of reasonable and appealing for defense sets. Techy tank with energy sword and FFs heisted off the Crey, or brought from the future, etc, etc? Not too shabby.

I'm guessing we won't be able to "customize" the look of these new powers? say for example having different shaped shields and being able to use different patterns from the costume creator to texture them either at character creation or when you go to Icon?

Bone Armor/Melee would also be cool.
The powers listed seem kind of... dull.
Most of them are just hand-held items; shield, weapons, etc., Only psychic weaponry and vibration actually seem like actual super-powers.

OK my first request is off the mark for Melee...but I am dying for a gunslinger powerset. Six shooter, Lever action rifle, etc. Man even a lasso, for a HOLD. OK that felt a little weird getting all bold over a lasso... Veterans rewards could be spurs for 39 months ...
Another idea I had for a defensive set would be LUCK. Varying degrees of luck towards various attacks etc.

Oh and another thing, couldn't we have a mix'n'match of different dual wield weapons, say like for example: Axe/Sword, Mace/Axe and Sword/Mace as well as the standard Axe/Axe, Sword/Sword and Mace/Mace types?
