Maybe I need glasses, but I did not see the word "sorry" appearing even once on this post, or any of the half dozen announcements pertaining to the screw up. To all the people who have lost stuff and are inconvenienced, isn't an apology the professional thing to include right next to your promise to fix the errors?

[/ QUOTE ]

You wanted an apology?

I grew up in Kings Row so I'm used to being poor. 75 cents and a quick chase after the ice cream truck and we are all good. . .and I hope the Hellions try to rob me because I end being able to buy ice cream for the whole block with THEIR loot.

Haha, they never learn.

Ah, I missed it after the thread got a little... angry-ish sounding?

Anyway, the latest announcement sounded more like a professional apology and it seemed wrong for it to be missed or something. No hard feelings either way.

Are there any ongoing problems with the CH? Because I could have sworn I had a St. Louis Slammer recipe vanish on me last night. Put it up for sale, went back later and it was gone. Checked through the Auction channel for any kind of notification of it being sold, found nothing.

Maybe I dreamt/hallucinated all that because I stayed up until 6:30 a.m. playing CoH, but I'm pretty sure it happened. :-)

Sooooo, Lighthouse......

Will the money I get from dupin rares be added to my total for Leader?

Cause, its about the only way I'm gonna get it otherwise...

Ok, serious now.

Seriously, thanks for all the work you guys/gals are doing for this. I know there's nothing more then looking at a batch of code, the only thing I know is that 'Fuction X' isn't working properly, so major props are due for finding, fixing, and correcting the problem(s). This games Community Support is one that keeps me coming back after my brief excursions into the land of EQ, WoW, and GW.

I'm still hoping I can get the 10M Inf I had in the CH when I bid on tech wings *sniff*

Here's the question on my mind lately. Yes we lost salvage, enhancements, inspirations and recipes. We lost inf on items we were bidding on. So far these are the only things that have been mentioned as far as fixing this issue or compensating. So, here it is. What about the fees we paid for posting anything we were trying to sell? Are we going to get that inf back? What about the fact that something we bought for 500K in order to try and sell for 1 Million is now only selling for 100K? The prices have dropped greatly, and continue to do so as we had been predicting they would as time went on. But each day that passes without fixing this issue leaves people with items that are worth less and less. By the time the fix goes in (If it ever does) something that was selling for 20 Million will be going for 1 million. Are we going to be compensated for that loss as well?

Something tells me that the Devs hadn't thought about it quite that way yet, and that same something makes me think the answer will be a resounding "no"

Saw this last night - looks like their testing of a way to return lost items & bids looks good enough to try. Sounds promising

Sampoerna, thanks for pointing that out. Now we have a date. They still haven't addressed whether or not they plan on compensating us for those other things I mentioned though. We'll get our items back and the inf we had on bids(We hope it works) but no word on the fees we paid that are now gone etc. Still I'll be glad to get the stuff back and the inf, although all of it is now worth less then I had paid for it.

I think that's a good point. It's interesting that Castle not long ago used CH as an example of "PvP" in the sense that people are competing with each other in getting the higest price for goods and getting goods for the lowest price.

I sincerely doubt that we'll get any additional compensation for lost opportunity costs or anything else so difficult to quantify. In theory they might be able to recoup the placement fee, which in some cases would probably be substantial (if you put up a costume item for 20 million thats 1 million of influence), but I'm not holding my breath for that.

Agreed HeckTender. I would be very suprised if they compensated us for the lost opportunity, but I thought I'd throw it out there. The repayment of the posting fees seems to be a fair request though and not out of the bounds of possibility. If they know how much we posted an item for, then they know the built in fee for that price. Here's hoping.

Not sure about the rest of you, but this fix sure didn't work for me. I logged out last night with 33,557,583 Inf logged into to find 59,759,903 Inf a difference of...26,202,320.

I had over 30 Million on Bids. I had paid fees toward items for sale. I didn't get the bid inf back in full, I didn't get the fees paid back. I got a nice winged boots recipe and a photonic weapon salvage though. Here's the problem. I had NEVER had winged boots until a few days ago, and I STILL have those. An item from after the incident got DUPED! And....the photonic weapon, I had already sold that and got the inf for it. WTH?? All the recipes I had are gone gone gone. The same issue on my wifes account. Some inf restored, no recipes. She got no dupes though. Waiting on a response from my petition, but given that my last 4 petitions were ignored, I'm not at all hopeful. Sadly this could be the end of the Buzz Killers patronage of City of Heroes.

I didn't get the recipes back that I'd had in the consignment house either. *sigh* Not even sure if it's worth petitioning.

Wanted to say thank you for restoring my lost influence. It was a little distressing to have 36 mil influence vanish into thin air.

I logged in this morning to find that not only had I received my 36 mil back, but because I'd upped my bid twice after 10pm, I actually got about 68 mil back. I guess I'm also now one of the biggest influence dupers in the game!

Anyway that's certainly good compensation for "loaning" out all of my influence for a week or so. That's nearly 100% interest on a two week 36 mil loan!

The good news for me is that I got the fairy wings that I coveted for my character Earthen Butterfly, and someone else now has a great deal of my influence to play with.

And I'm not even poor at the end of the day!

Can I have your... oh right. never mind. Sorry, someone had to do it. I'm still stuck at work, but at this point with the apology and complete admission of wrongdoing PLUS their best attempt at setting it right, I guess I'll be happy as long as I get something back.

I mean, sometimes stupid things happen. The whole thing sounds to me like an unfortunate bug compounded by some amount of incompetence. Well, what can I say. I've performed incompetently at work before, and I like to think I'm not the worst of the lot! The point of it to me is that they admitted wrong-doing in very uncompromising terms, and then they had an extended down-time where (I'm assuming) they did their darndest to set everything straight.

The only thing missing would be an explanation in the most transparent terms possible of what they were able to restore and what they weren't and why.

J, still out 10 million in bids.
