I think that would be an easy yet very good idea to have the ability to change your power's colors at the tailor. I think players wouldn't get tired of everyone having the same power color. And like the heroes/Avs that have the same power yet different colors as players. Just because they are heroes doesn't mean they can choose their power's color. What? are we not heroes/villains?? C'mon at least let us feel like heroes/villains.

Ok, so this might have been posted but there was like 5 million posts( because this is a really cool idea ) but here goes.

What about a power set called shape shifter.
You could make yourself look like one of the baddies and you could walk through groups of mobs and not be bothered.

Also a power where you steal the powers of the targeted enemy and they are really weakend. You could use all of their attacks at a lower end cost.

A power that you could call clone where you clone some one on your own team where you have all their powers temporarily and the person cloned has a slight debuff.

Anyway, I don't have much more than that right now, but might think of some later. If some one already posted something similar sorry.

Yeah it was stickied but no developers have made a response. It was acknowledged in game by Ghost Widow (Played by a developer) though. The developers know about it and I am sure they want to implement.

If we never see it in COH, I can guarantee that this idea will be in Marvel Universe Online.

While I agree with you I think the reality is that Marvel Universe (Being developed by Cryptic) will be built on COH's mistakes. Not really "mistakes" but the way things were built. This engine was built with only X in mind. I am sure the developers will build MUO with X and Y where Y being things that they couldn't implement in COH due to engine limitations. (IE, Wall Climbing, coding for the powers there is some limitations, IE DMG RES and +DMG enhancers)

That's great and all, but it'd still be nice if they added Y to this game as well since there are some of us who don't want to be a part of the generic comic book universe that is Marvel.

EDIT: No hate to Marvel, I love their comies and movies, I just don't want to play in their world.

I still maintain that it should be a player's choice as to whether to make a single Nuke-type Power or a string of lesser Powers.

Base Damage can be the same as it is currently for existing Powers that are already balanced. Like if I want a Martial Arts attack that looks like or acts like Storm Kick. Okay so I get the Storm Kick animation to start with and 3.7 Smashing dmg with a Recharge time of 6 and an End cost of 7. This should cost like 1-2 Build Points until I add stuff to it.

Scale this versus Nova with something like 5 times the damage but a Recharge of 360 and an End cost of 20 which should burn up quite a few Build Points but then you could tweak it a bit.

I suggest this because I could see the Signature Power for a Martial Artist being a series of attacks from a specific Form or something.

Just a thought...

I really really like this idea.

Though, it might be nice if you could create a multibuffing power, like a character could create a signature power that makes him faster, enhances his recharge time, enhances his accuracy, and increases his defense for a short time.

I really hope this sort of thing comes about in an upcoming issue.

Good post Ultimus! I really like the detail of it! I would like to make "Deep Freeze" for my Ice Tank.

Basically, a giant freezer falls on top of Lord Recluse and then it padlocks shut; when we reopen it, he is a solid rectangular block of ice.

I'm not making fun of the idea. I think it's great. I'm just in that weird "can't go to sleep cuz I'm too tired" mode!

Awesome idea, may be a bit tough to code, but it certainly wouldn't be impossible, in my opinion. Here's the one I thought up.

Shokbox- Elec/Elec Brute
Power: Synapse Flash
AoE Damage, FoeSleep, -FoeResist, +Damage
Shokbox overcharges the electricity in his armor and releases it, messing with the nerve signals of enemies around him, while boosting his armor's discharge temporarily.

Here's an idea that could improve upon it though. (Not sure if it's been mentioned.) The ability to modify the power for "Negative Points." Such as -endurance. Have your power deal quite a bit more damage, but slow recharge rate after, or heal for a lot, then not regenerate for a bit?
