Tonight I was booted off 4, count em, 4 BAF attempts.
This is ridiculous. -
Quote:And as I replied over on FB:im just postin what some guy on fb said, cuz i like his comment:
"Not all of the servers are dead, this is true. However, it's also true that this game is in fact dying...blah blah blah
Quote:Your "facts" aren't anything of the sort, just your assumptions based on incomplete info. As for releasing slower than other MMO's, I can't attest to that because I don't play a single other MMO. I've played COH for 5 years, ...and I beta tested Champions and found it to be dull, dull, dull. What I can tell you is that CoH is smaller than several of the big MMO's, and pretty much always has been. For a MMO of its size, it regularly releases great new content, and has greatly improved its release schedule and developer feedback since NCsoft took over. So, feel free to refrain from the cries of "DOOOOOM" anytime you like.
And White_Hot_Flash, I agree wholeheartedly. Superb post. -
You may get a better response if you paste your actual build so we can get a look at it.

Thanks for your reply. However, the thing that fixed it was the most basic PC "fix" of all.
A reboot *facepalm*
Thank you though! -
I was able to connect and play for a few hours last night with no issues at all, but today the updater just isn't getting the job done. It tries to connect, and I've let it get up to 10 attempts before closing it in frustration.
I've tried running the exe directly as many have suggested, and a popup says I cannot do so and must go through the updater.
Any ideas? -
I'm having the very same issue. I was able to connect and play last night, but today the updater just isn't getting the job done. It tries to connect, and I let it get up to 10 attempts before closing it.

Quote:Har! Glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read this. But everyone knows that slamming your fists against your chest gives you +regen.
Just the other day I was on the playground and this other kid and I got into a knife fight. After numerous stab wounds I slammed my fists against my chest and within seconds the wounds had healed.
I later won that knife fight and my street cred' has gone up accordingly.
Moral of the story: Co* bases its annimations on reality.
Stay tuned for when I tell the story of how doing a fancy backflip gave me super sharp senses for two minutes. -
/signed. Love the idea

Quote:You were good until this bit here.Personally, I'd like to see the Rikti win one, by destroying most of the AE buildings, markets and universities, and some of the trams/ferries/black helicopters. One AE building on each side and one in Pocket D, one market on each side, one university on each side and one in Pocket D, one Arena on each side and one in Pocket D, and sever any zone interconnections that aren't absolutely necessary
One market on each side is, frankly, a ludicrous idea. Why? For several reasons, but the best argument against it boils down to one simple word: LAG.
The presence of multiple Universities, and also the trams and helicopters is not an issue, so why even bring it into this discussion? -
Quote:Wholeheartedly agreed. I daresay that most dissenting opinions here are coming from people who 1) Have forgotten what it is to be new to this game, and/or 2) Just don't care.Discimur exemplo
Endurance remains the game's largest mechanical problem. The solutions are not obvious to new players, and are not available soon enough to save much of the content. The mechanic makes the game seem much duller than it turns out to be to a new player on a first character. It needs to be said, and repeated at every opportunity. -
Indeed. for those who wanna do it the hard way, they'd still be able to.
I too tire of endless stacking to accomplish things that should be simple, like extra floors and walls. Not to mention the lag and the fact that the prestige costs add up VERY quickly. -
That was my mental response several posts back.

I pretty much never take acrobatics. I have a tendency to take the Flight pool because I enjoy the absolute freedom of movement it offers, and Hover has in-build KB protection.

My first 50 was fire/fire/flame, and he's still a blast (no pun intended) to play. I can soften my enemies at range with my primary attacks, or leap into a mob with hot-feet running, hit them with FSC and Fire-Ball, and sometimes throw consume into the mix. Or I can mix it up and hit them with fire-breath before leaping in and doing the above.
It is extremely rewarding to just watch the mobs fall down burning. However as others have pointed out, its all about what playstyle fits you best. For me, I swing between both ranged and melee with my fire toon, and he's deadly either way. -
Ive noticed the same problem with mission, pocket d, and base tp powers.
-
Like others have said, it will take some getting used to, but I like the look just fine.
Good to be back -
Okay, played a bit on Champion, and there was indeed an easily perceptible improvement in overall performance. I didn't have the issues with dropped frames, power activation delays, and other annoying issues like I've had to deal with on Victory for the past week or so.
Odd. Odd and very annoying. -
Count me among those who are having an issue, mostly on Victory. I'll try one of the west coast servers and see if there's a performance difference.
-
Sorry to hear that. Great Posi run though!

Wow, you finished up Faathim in less than 3 hours? If I'd even suspected that, I'd have done it again for the merits alone *lol*
