It might be interesting if you could apply various effects to your signature power, and then modify its Magnitude. So a play could have their signature power be a really powerful hold, or an attack with an extremely high chance for knockback.

This is an excellent idea for PvE, PvP no, nightmare is absolutely right. If the devs could put it together to keep it separate, then count me as a Yea vote.

Sorry, it has been a while since I read it, I recalled you mentioning "improving" the effects, but currently when you improve effects in game it only enhances the duration and not the effictiveness.

you know PvP would be an absolute mess so I think that it would be maybe a god idea to not be able to use those in PvP cause it would be a mess, AN ABSOLUTE MESS might be a bad idea but watever

Wouldn't effect PVP much unless a guy sat in his base and came out everytime his signature power was up. Like I said in my original post, they would function like accolades with long recharge timers. Accolades don't imbalance PVP to the extent it becomes a mess.

Actually I heard Ghost Widow (A developer playing Ghost Widow in game) mentioned it. Or was told to go look at it.

Seems like a huge amount of effort for an accolade like power you can't use very often. It isn't just a matter of whether it is a good idea but whether is it the best use of resources.

while it may not be an oft used power.. one justification would be the potential for bringing in new customers/players.

some people who are on the fence on whether they should buy into CoX might be that much more swayed towards joining us if they see they get the opportunity to make their own unique Signature Power.

more money coming in would help justify it..

so would the fact that it would be more content for the second half of levels, especially for all the 50s already out there.

which would also encourage people to play past the lower levels instead of just creating a character, hitting the 20s - 30s and then starting another.

and the best reason of all.. it would rock that hard!

I wouldn't give it accolade-level recharge times, but I don't think they should be usable in PvP zones and there should be an option to turn them off in the Arena. 5-10 minute recharge would be plenty.

Personally, I would want the recharge time to be just like any other attribute of the Signature Power. It should start with a really long recharge time, and the player should be able to spend exponentially increasing points to decrease the recharge time.

I just want to create a single, fast recharging punch that does little damage, but will always knock my enemies back a long way.....

Not because it is incredibly usefull, but because it is insanely cool.

The worst thing that could happen with this idea is someone walking around with Zeus Strike equivalent power.

But the idea is very sound and I would love to see it happen in game.

There is little heroic about pick your UBER powers from one of these 4 only after you pick one of these 2. I have been pigeonholed in my sets get to 41 and the holes just get smaller and less varied.

I have said since my 1st 50 epics need work. This could and should replace them. You could even save your allocation of points from 41 on to make an uber power at 49 or custom 4 other lesser powers using a point system seems simple enough. Yeah many buddies think inventions are to hard.
I thinks they must drinks but they have their reasons I guess.

No need to invent the wheel...you pick the animation from catagory1-4 you pick ability of animation 1-10 you name power...no different then setting up a macro button.
Now that could open everyone up to all powers at least animations. I see a man eating plant casting ring of fire or my ill kin getting the "power" to strap bombs to his clones.

I know pipe dreams oh well

espite the obvious TankMage-ing that would be going on, there are some concepts that just require a new power that this fancy doo-hickey could give them.
Gimme Gimme Gimme! The sticky means people noticed it! Let's bump that up to planning stage!
