What do you consider High Level? I got it from fighting 40+ and perhaps even 45+ as I was in a big group.

Sorry, no.
Basically the game only stores counts for what we tell it to count for. These Portal generated guys have never been counted for anything before, so everyone's count on these guys starts at 0.

It seems this part of the code, where enemies that should be part of the same group actually aren't, even though they are identified exactly the same, causes a lot of problems. Maybe it's due for a rewrite. Making it simpler, ie so a BP mask is always a real BP mask, sounds like it would help.

What's funny........is that we have been told by Rednames *and* support for a long time that they didn't count because they were in a "different dimension".

I don't know the exact mechanics of the code, but from what I do know there is no reason why it shouldn't be.

Because they are spawned from a Portal they need to give 0XP to prevent exploiting. Because of this, the Masks need to have the attribute of "Reward Scale x 0.0" in them. Now if we applied this to ALL Masks, then no Mask in the game would give XP. So a new entity was created, that was a cut and paste of the old Mask (same powers, names, costumes, levels, everything) but in-game name becomes "Mask_Portal", and the reward scale is changed from 1.0 to 0.0. We now have a new entity that, for all intents and purposes, looks and acts exactly like the original one, just giving 0XP upon defeat.
The person making this change may not know that there is a badge for defeating Masks. The person in charge of badges may not know that there is a Mask_Portal entity that should probably be counted along with Masks. When this happens, you get a situation where a player feels that he is defeating the "right thing" but is not getting credit. This can even go unnoticed for a long time until someone who is specifically working on a badge notices that it is not happening. Best I can do is fix these when they come up. This particular one was never in a bug from NC Soft or Cryptic Internal, the only mention of it was on this forum. Since NC Soft and Cryptic bugs take priority, I had to make sure I cleared all of those before I could begin work on issues from the forums. Which I have been this week.

What masks are spawned by a portal?
They are in a "portal mission", but there are no actual portals (ie, Behemoths, Rikt, etc) in this particular mission.

Yeah, I think there's some confusion here. They are in a misison that you enter at portal corp, not spawned from a portal...
And they give experience.
As far as the elite sappers/nrg turrets... "its not in game, yet" statement. Is this something that can be placed in game by a quick patch? Or is this some major update that will have to come out to add these? Seem's crazy that those are on test, "in game" and not on live, also "in game". I thought maybe you ment they unlocking aspect was not in game, if thats the case I can understand it, otherwise this should not take that long to get fixed.

Ah, well then in this case it was a new entity created to have Masks spawn outside their normal level range, or with powers they don't normally have.
In any case, a new entity was made, and not added to the badges. There very well may have been the arguments made that "they are not the same Masks, so they don't count", but the sheer amount of confusion and complaints this has caused has made us go back and add them in as Masks that count towards the badge.

Last thing, but can we get this same sentiment applied to the Marcone Boss, Family Boss, Strike breaker, Strike Buster, Cage Consortium, etc badges too?

I spent 50 hours nonstop in RV... my conclusion... no sg badge for the fusion generator.
I remained in sg mode the entire time, my sg exists only for pvp. As an sg we have spent much much much much much much ( you get it) more than 50 hours in pvp zones. Posi can we get a dev to look into this and make sure the badge is indeed being awarded or if it is still bugged. Thanks

Or you could just reduce the number of things that spawn from those portals...oh or maybe spawn them at higher levels or even really low levels so they barely give xp and are still a threat, or something...

as i posted in another thread, a friend of mine on his level 50 tank with all the +hp accolades ( 375 extra hp total) was resting in front of 2 +3 malta turrets.
hero stats tracked the dmg being done for about 24 hours or so. was at around 8 million. he is working on the 10 million dmg badge and the bar did not move at all.
the turrets do 7 tics of 46 damage each for a total of 322 dmg. this is under the extra hp amount that his tank has. only reason that makes sense as i believe it was authenticated by devs that + hp powers such as dull pain do not count.
he has a petition into support. but i haven't heard anything from him yet though.

When you kill a Portal (ie, Rikti or Behemoth) can it automatically nix any remaining enemies that came from it? It's very annoying to destroy the thing only to have 0 XP enemies still hanging around. This would potentially fix the odd risk/reward curve on these things.

As I understand it, the XP reward for Portals is intended to be roughly equivalent to the XP that would be gained from the average number of critters you'd expect the Portal to spawn in a normal fight. I'm not sure how many critters that is--judging by the XP values of Rikti Portals, the devs may have based it on a single spawn for a mid-size team, with the idea that it would average out in the long run. Essentially, they moved the XP from the critters to the Portal so that there would be no point in farming them. Autokilling the spawns on defeat of the Portal would reduce the "risk" (in the dev's eyes) of the encounter. You would be getting the XP for some percentage of those mobs for "free". As a result, I don't expect this change to happen (pleasant as it would be).

o.o I'd been wondering about that... it make me wonder if the monthly /bug I do about chat channel's no longer allowing sgs to be invited to them ever gets anywhere. I've been doing it since CoV beta where it showed up first, but it never even gets listed as a known issue so... its a simple problem too.. the two new ranks just made it so that leaders no longer have the rank to invite..
