Jay's Costume Bug Fix Thread
Not sure if this has been addressed yet or not, I tried searching but could'nt find anything on it. Anywho, when I try to make a Hero character, the costumes are the exact same as the Villain choices. I am not able to use any Hero-side costumes, only CoV.

I have the exact same issue. It is also present at Icon. You might want to check your help feature as mine defaults to villian whille playing hero.
I have a ticket in with support, and they say it is a known bug with some accounts. They are still trying to figure it out.
Dear sexy Jay -
I'm not sure if this is an actual bug or not, but it bugs me, so...
With the new Good vs. Evil goodies (which are awesome, by the way), the "Sinister" pattern is available with things other than just the matching Sinister armor.
The "Justice" pattern isn't available with anything -but- the matching Justice armor.
While the Sinister pattern is, by far, the cooler of the two, it just doesn't seem right to not be able to use the Justice pattern on things other than the clunky Justice armor (not every hero wears clunky armor, after all).
PS. Also, the detail on the Justice boots and gloves (without pads) seems to be missing the extra oomph that the chest has....on the gloves and boots the little "wing" details aren't contrasting colors like they are on the chest (shoulder area, specifically), and tend to blend in to the boots and gloves and just look a little "blah" compared to the chest piece.
The coloring for the Sinister pattern on the Sinister top differs between male model and female/huge model.
Example
The male version looks the best with the neck and the straps on the sleeves changing with the secondary color that is also the spider pattern color.
The Justice pants with the Justice pattern differ between the female model and the male/huge model.
Example 2
The lines on the pants stop mid-thigh on the female version but both male versions continue all the way down the leg. I'm not sure which I prefer, but shouldn't they be the same?
Please bring back buzzcut hair for male and huge characters? It means a lot to me.
Currently it can only be accessed through the "masks with hair" option.
Someone suggested I should post this here instead of the CoH General:
...will I ever be able to buy a new outfit at Icon without them stealing my pants?
I know they're not 'in vogue' anymore, since they have a fiery top & bottom pattern on them, but I love my old pants.
They're warm, cozy and worn-in just right!
I really wanted to see what they'd look like with my new GvE costume options, but sadly Serge wanted my pants as payment...and I don't swing that way.
Please tell me that someday I'll be able to visit Icon without the fear of losing my pants.

Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
Well, actually, no, I don't- just something weird I noticed
The detail on the sinister top and sinister bottoms are of different resolution- THe top is signifigantlly lower rez. This may or may not be just on my computer:

I think it's just something on your computer, as when I tried the sinister outfit, I didn't see this.
The below quoted information is incorrect.
There are TWO sinister patterns available for all "sinister" textures.
One is in alphabetical order and is JUST the spider - it is also available on NON sinister textures.
The other is at the bottom, only available on sinister textures, and includes the buckled straps AND the spider.
Examples in this picture:
Straps different color and this one Spider is colored, straps not
These both are available on males, females AND huge.
I would say that the only issue is that they have the same name, which is confusing -- maybe Sinister for the strap one since that kind is ALWAYS the same name as the texture, and Spider for the other one?

That crazy guy Serge ...
He does the same thing to my defender, just because she has the original suit jacket .
Every time poor Mina-ko walks into Icon, Serge tries to steal her jacket -- he's keeping a girl from shopping! That's not right!
Sure, he offers her a new jacket, but it makes her look like she's four months pregnant. And Mina-ko's not even dating anyone -- she's only sixteen!
I'm gonna keep bugging the suit jackets until Mina-ko can wear one without planning a baby shower.
Long cape, no pattern, male, Justice from Tights top. Cape "floats" off my back. Looks like it might be in the right place for the Armor version of Justice, but on tights it's hovering disconnected from the shoulder/mantle part of the cape.

ACTIVE INCARNATES: Polly's Revenge (V) | Stygian Kitten (V) | Archon Abrasax (V) | Alpha Antares (V)
Felines | Wolves | Avians | Bovines | Griffons | Centaurs | Insects | Robots
What, you really think HUMANS are going to save the world? LOL!
Comparison side-by-side
Notice how there's two color-patterns called Sinister - this is confusing. Having both is GREAT but having them with the same name, that's what's confusing. My suggestion was to call the one that colors the spider but not the straps, "Spider" and leave "Sinister" as the name of the straps+spider one.
Noticed that the plaid miniskirt 'clips' badly when character is in 'rest' pose (down on one knee). The side with the leg forward shows skin/tights texture thru the side/back of the skirt.

this one is with the chest slider going towards the busty side and any Chest Detail set to Over. They are consumed by the expanding bust, thus being unable to be seen, They need to follow the bust as it expands, just as belts follow the hips as the slider is moved in and out.
[/ QUOTE ]
This problem looks to have been fixed, but the solution is still off. When the chest slider is at default size, lapel emblems look normal. Now when you adjust the chest size up and down, the chest emblem over-tracks the slider, hanging off the chest at maximum size, and clipping into the jacket when the chest size is reduced. Jay is sexy.
This has probably already been posted, but its hard to tell with 52 pages of posts. Spiky hair has a bald spot on the left side of the head thats been there since I7 and still hasn't been fixed. Like 3 of my characters have spiky hair and its kind of annoying. Can we please get a fix for that soon? Thanks!

Oh thank goodness you had the chutzpah to post that! I didn't want to go through 50+ plus pages to find out if someone had...this triangle baldspot makes me nuts!
I want to breed with Jay, and make sexy l'il costume designers.

Yeah, I really like the new Justice costume set, but the two color option doesn't work, it goes strictly with the primary color. When I try editing it at Icon however, it shows both colors. Shrug.

I have the same problem, but it wouldn't even change for me in Icon.

You need to set the pattern. In the pattern field (where you'll find the usual Fade Line, Circles, Stripes, etc.) there is, at the very end, an entry for Justice on the Justice costume. This will allow you to set both colors.
I don't know if this was mentioned yet and I don't have a picture of this but on a huge body with the lizard head the back part of the head is raised off the body and it leaves a pretty good sized gape when you look at it from the right angle. This could be on other monster heads with a huge body too.
Jay,
I was going to change one of my character costumes the other day and the wrapped stilletto boots are missing in the costume creator (for the female model obviously).
The real problem is that it is replacing my boots and pants with something else so I cannot change my costume without having to pay infamy to change multiple costume parts.
Were the wrapped stillettos removed for a reason? The texture must still be in the game since I have them on my villain.
If this is a bug, could it please get fixed prior to Issue 8? I am going to revamp my character outfit then.
"That's when me an Elaine started having problems, and when I started my drinking problem ."
Not sure if this would go in this section, but shouldn't I be drinking from the mouth?
I liked the wrapped stilettos wish they would come back...
As I have 2 asian themed ninja samurai chicks that need em...
Trying to drag the subject line back to where it should be and all that ...
This has been a costume bug for I don't know how long, and should be a relatively minor bugfix. Jackets are being drawn one sided, so from certain angles where you see the "inside" of a jacket, it's invisible. This leads to some fairly odd looks.
To Jay (and more to the devs in charge of the 3d engine), All you need to do is use
glDisable(GL_CULL_FACE);
when rendering jackets, and it'll fix the problem. If you were able to subdivide the jacket into front and back portions, you really only need this for the front, the back can (and should) be left with CULL_FACE enabled. Yes, this does mean a slight performance hit, but I somehow don't think it's going to break the bank.
Scrappers are just like chainsaws. Somewhat hard to handle, EXTREMELY dangerous, and by far the most fun when wielded by the slightly insane.

"Jacket" is missing. I took a screen shot of it's location in the costume selection. I miss it.
