No Debt in PvP zones EVER

the problem is some of us like the PvP and PvE elements combined.
I for one do not want them seperated no matter how much bold caps text you use.

Pure PvP ? go to the arena.

What YOU want != others want remember this.

I agree with Cat, The PvE elements are definately a good thing

well before this change I didn't have a lot of reason to go to a PVP zone with a non-level capped character, and now I have even less of one. The devs don't seem to understand that the debt in PVP zones is a factor that drives many people away.

This is especially an issue in Siren's Call and Recluses Victory where half the fun of the zone is fighting to gain control which brings you into contact with NPCs.

I've done hotspot fights in Sirens with both PC and NPC Villains fighting against my team and it was tons of fun, but when I now have to face the chance of debt no matter who killed me. Nevermind that, I guess I won't be PVPing for a long time.

And the fact that obvious greifing tactics are allowed in PVP zones is ridiculous. There isn't always a way to get away from a griefer, and now there's no way to get out of the debt. TP Foe especially has made greifing easy, and with this new system the Debt Givers will be able to grief easier because they can put down a hold or slow that does damage without worrying that they will get in the last shot and we won't get debt.

The PVP Culture in the game pretty much sucks. I'm not sure if there is a better/worse server for PVPing, but I've run across far too many people who decided the only way they can have fun is by being an <self-censored>

THIS IS PVP. PEOPLE COME TO THESE ZONES FOR PVP. THEY DO NOT COME TO THE ZONES FOR PVE. SEPERATE THE TWO AND STOP DICKING AROUND AS YOU TINKER TO AND FRO IN YOUR SEARCH FOR THE ULTIMATE ALOGRITYHM OF THEORETICAL BALANCE.

DO NOT PRESUME TO TELL ME WHY I GO TO PVP. WE ALL PAY FOR THIS GAME AND HAVE FULL RIGHTS TO HYPOTHESIZE WHAT WOULD MAKE PVP GOOD FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE PLAYERBASE, NOT SIMPLY THOSE PEOPLE WHO SEEM TO LIKE LIKE DOING NOTHING ELSE BUT DEFEATING OTHER PLAYERS FOR A REPUTATION SCORE THAT MEANS NOTHING IMO.

1) I like(d) PvP (before the debt thing)
2) I like fighting PvE mobs
3) I like(d) the tickle on the back of my neck I experienced when fighting mobs in Siren's Call that was an expectation of an Assassin Strike, Scourge, Domination, etc. at any moment.
4) I do not like getting debt for fighting a mob in SC when I could get that debt in a PvE zone, and might *not* have gotten that debt because there wasn't a villain waiting to zerg me as soon as I was weak enough for a one-shot.

Not really, and you didn't address a single point I made.

He did, however, make his original point in bolded all-caps, which as we all know makes it MORE TRUER!!

It is my place to stand.
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands."

While I am not an avid PvP player, I do enjoy PvP in other games, most notably Dark Age of Camelot.

This is because a skilled, wary player can *almost always* avoid PvE death (and XP/Con loss) in DAoC's PvP zones.

This is categorically untrue in CoX.

Unlike peanut butter and chocolate, CoX's PvE and PvP are *not* two great tastes that taste great together. They mix like Godzilla and Tokyo, which is great for everybody except Tokyo.

The griefing potential of the powersets and zone layouts is *extreme* in CoX. Until that griefing is tempered by mechanical limitations on the gain and loss in the zone, it will keep many players, myself among them, from enjoying what would otherwise be an exciting, tense, and challenging aspect of gameplay.

I'll translate: I like getting more XP for less work thanks to pumped up XP in PvP.

You can still have PvE mobs just remove debt/xp. Make it about actually fighting for control or for a reason and not about avoiding debt or farming xp, which is especially easy since those wonderful heavys do all the work on those orange+ mobs/turrets and give us tons of XP in RV...

Kills a Rogue Arachnos minion = 10 prestige
Kills an even CoT dude (or most nems etc) = 10 prestige.

This isn't about PHAT Expee.

I spend time say in Sirens workign the PvE elements to get say the Blue ink men, I should get some prestige/Xp in the same way i would for defeating them anywhere else.
(Toxic T's, Blue ink men and others do not spawn anywhere but the PvP zones)

I defeat an arachnos boss, and tip the tide at a hot-spot, I gain some (personal/SG) recognition for that fact.

I am soory but if you want mob-free fights use the durn Arena - THAT IS WHY IT IS THERE.

The zones are PvP/PvE combined.
the arenas are pure PvP

base raids have PVE elements (defences)

Zone PvP != arena PvP != base raid PvP

Sure they share some elements but they are not the same thing.

I'd be happy with NPCs not giving exp if they also didn't give debt. Seems like the most obvious balance possible.

It's not about XP but then you immediately say you should get XP...

You're hunting them for a badge. You'd hunt them if they were grey for the badge an not expect any compensation except the badge...and you're 50...not like there's a threat of debt even hunting them in PvP...

If you're sole purpose is for the badges then why worry about xp/prestige? Perhaps give Prestige awards for getting badges...kill 300 Skulls get the same XP as you do for explore badges...even though skulls might have been grey.

Also Arachnos mobs are also found inside PvP missions...

No one said to remove missions in PvP zones. Just the debt/XP from mobs outside in PvP.

Oh wow yeah, no hassle at all to wade through the 100 generic matches that are always listed and find the one you want...then just like in PvP zones, I can choose my surroundings for the match...oh...wait I CAN'T...maybe if we had a choice of our battlegrounds you'd see more Arena fights...maybe if they got those championship badges working you'd see more arena fights...Arena still sucks one year after it launched...Issue 4 aka the Wasted Issue.

Do base turrets give debt when they defeat you? If they do that needs to be changed too.

No I like going hunting when I run out of Inspirations. Without the NPCs, I'm just a floating squishy waiting to be ASed. I only PvP with one toon and I play mostly in the PvE zones with my corruptor. I've not done many missions in Siren's and none in Warburg at all. Without Debt in the PvP zones, there is no xp(not a big deal for me) Nothing in them should count toward Badges(I know that a lot of badge hunters wait until there is no risk but there was risk to begin with. With no debt in the zones, there is no debt to begin with. Therefore, no one should be able to farm badges in the zones.), no Enhancement Drops, No Prestige Gain, no influence/Infamy gain, and no inspiration drops.

Since I am a PvPer, most of the prestige I net for my Hero group is playing in RV. So no debt in PvP zones would mean for me that I could not get my inspirations I need, my enhancement drops that I use, or the Prestige that I earn for my Hero group.

I recently got back into the game, excited about the pvp zones that were introduced while I was away. (I was gone for a long time).

And while the zones themselves are great, Siren's Calls hot spot system is fantastic, etc....I found the pvp to be discouraging. My guy is only level 33 and while pvp is loads of fun I was quickly discouraged into not doing it until I hit max level. The amount of debt I gained from being TP'd into mobs and being alpha striked was ridiculous.
