Hey, I'm Big Nova. Some of you may have been around when I played. I was a member of the F.R.O.N.T. and the Riders of the Apocalypse respectively. I've returned to the game to find out that both of my Hero homes have slowly disappeared and I don't know if they are very active these days. I'm looking for a SG for my Blaster and Kheld and a VG for my Corr and my Fortunata. I've started to become very active again and honestly have gotten hooked to the game again. I was wondering if there are any older Supergroups out there or even any newer ones with some old school players...or even newer players who love the game and wouldn't mind this old geezer around (and by that I really mean just a 21 year old who started playing a long time ago, went to the darkside of WoW and has returned...) My Global is @Big Nova. I've been playing on my Fortunata a lot but I would love to knock the dust off of Big Nova, Crimson Nova, and Luminant Nova and play some other stuff with everyone. Just answer me here or shoot me a tell online when I'm on. Either way, I would love to get some PvE and PvP action in with everyone on Triumph again.

...the Paragon Dance Party was hidden, and only certain people knew where to find it? Not surprisingly, it was almost always empty....
[/ QUOTE ]
I remember when there WAS no Paragon Dance Party. Also I remember when the entrance was right next to the train in South Steel Canyon, and it was more popular as a shortcut to Talos Island...
[ QUOTE ]
...you could go into Peregrine Island and NOT see a ton of very short "texting" messages float across your screen from people that were doing the same thing over and over?
[/ QUOTE ]
I remember when there was no Peregrine Island. ^_^

....learning "window hopping" to get to the only places where CoT would spawn... at night on King's Row rooftops?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to mention all the "where are the lost?" questions.
[ QUOTE ]
...Outbreak had a final police officer instead of Coyote, and there was no Flower Knight?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't remember when they put Coyote in, but I don't remember who was there before him. Then again, not sure why I would. ^_^

...trading large amounts of influence was a pain in the butt, but it wasn't too bad, because it didn't happen often?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, it happened often enough, trust me
I remember when my first character had a costume glitch, and I couldn't do anything to fix it except delete the character and start over (which luckily I did not do).
I remember when you couldn't change your supergroup colors... ever. Ours were black and pink.
I remember when katana had the exact same animations as broadsword.
I remember when smoke grenade made you invincible, when regen made you invincible, when invincibility made you... well, REALLY and TRULY invincible...
I remember when there were no badges. I think. Right?
I remember when you needed a special key bind to make your chat balloon change colors. Everyone thought that was cool.
I remember when the Sewer Trial was the greatest thing in the world for people to run, and Sewer Trial farm spam dominated Founder's Falls.
I remember when high level ambushes in low level zones were quite common, and very scary.
I remember when "Kill Skuls", "I challenge you to a duel I won" and "Gone to the Americans" were brand new and actually funny. ^_^

I remember all this....man... -
I remember when Fusion Force put together the First SG Fair on Triumph...In fact, i've still got the screens on my photobucket.....
-
lol Thats good to hear....Good to see you around still Carl.
-
I don't know if anyone is still around on good Ole Triumph that would remember me at all so I'm going to introduce myself real quick and ask for some help.
I'm Big Nova, a Lvl 50 Energy/Energy Blapper (if that term is still used or Viable...My build will most definately be changing soon) My original Supergroup was The F.R.O.N.T. and then spent some time with Riders of the Apocalypse once the FRONT all but disappeared. Basically, I would like to know where to start once my client is installed and updated. I would still like to play my Blaster but there's a couple of other things I want to know. How is PvP on this server now? When I stopped playing and when to the Darkside (WoW....still there) Freedom was the only server that had really good PvP and I got called a Griefer for killing in PvP zones...Is this still the case? Should I start a PvP character up on Freedom or another server that is known for its PvP?
Also, are there still any old school Supergroups around on the server with some old school people? I'd like to hop right back in and start playing later tonight.
Thanks in advance guys and I look forward to seeing people in Paragon city and the Rogue Isles once again. -

Heck, Id just like the PvE base raid part first!
[/ QUOTE ]
No Offense Jack, but I would rather see PvP base raids working correctly before even hearing about a PvE option that was suppose to be for us PvPers -
[ QUOTE ]
I like Flight, simply because it is the lowest Maintenance. Click the toggle, press auto-run and go AFK for a few minutes or chat with my SG.
I like Super Jump because of its combination of speed and vertical movement. It's also handy in PvP. It's a maintenance power, though. It's difficult to chat when you constantly hold down the spacebar. (Yeah, I know...remap the key!)
I like Teleport due to it's speed and PvP benefits. It takes a lot of getting used to, though.
I like Superspeed mainly due to speed. I typically take it in combination with another travel power, though.

WHAT?! No "lol, PvP!" Post! Castle is sick! -

Don't count on it. There might be something from the veteran rewards tho.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are my new favorite forum poster.
[/ QUOTE ]
If we really are getting a respec as a veteran reward, I hope its a higher-end respec then normal (aka, allowing you to change power sets or name or something). A reward that duplicates something that we get from multiple quests, holidays, and issues just doesn't have that special unique feel that I would hope most of the vet rewards would supply.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless of course the Vet reward is a respec that can be redone every so many days/weeks. -
Cuppa, you should make an April Robot and send it over to TR...That would surely trick them...

What about making hero Preatorian Counterparts of your villains?

You guys.... shucks.
Yes - I am still going to PAX - someone organize a meetup Friday night after the con - somewhere near to the place they are holding it and I'll be there. Just tell me where and when.
Yes - we should have an in-game party! I am working on the details - stay tuned!
Thanks for all the love and kind words. I'll miss you all tons.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well Cuppa, if we play Tabula Rasa, you can't miss us because you'll still be with us!I'll even make sure that my name is "Big_Nova" on their forums so you know I am there to show you support!
-
It looks like Tabula Rasa is ready to have her....

Don't let the ppl spaking out against the way that the CoP and IoPs are *intended* to be discourage you guys devs....Without this IoP aspect, raiding will surely die. (A little exageration? I think not.) This is a PvP reward. They make it a PvE mission to try to *convert* the people who are not friendly to the Enviroment(PvEers...It sounded semi-funny in my head.
) and although the zones have proven that PvE content in PvP zones does not encourage the PvEers to PvP but just encourages them to outcry against it, don't give in. I mean, come on, you have to have a raid teleporter anyway. What is a PvE group going to do with a raid teleporter?

[ QUOTE ]
I think I died 3 times on the final mission, all to the Thorn Tree itself, and I had a full Domination bar at that point too. Once we got to the point where we were all attacking it (Brute, MM, Dom, Corr), it went down pretty easy, and no one died... unlike the first Respec trial, where we had multiple TPKs in the final room.
[/ QUOTE ]
hmm, I figured you all went to Comic Con and decided to throw us that can't go a bone. -
I'm glad one of the Red names listens to ppl...maybe I should start sending stuff to her...

I recently got back into the game, excited about the pvp zones that were introduced while I was away. (I was gone for a long time).
And while the zones themselves are great, Siren's Calls hot spot system is fantastic, etc....I found the pvp to be discouraging. My guy is only level 33 and while pvp is loads of fun I was quickly discouraged into not doing it until I hit max level. The amount of debt I gained from being TP'd into mobs and being alpha striked was ridiculous.
[/ QUOTE ]
and ppl say that disrupting AV/Hero Raids in RV is bad...at least they don't get debt for taht...I've never been tped into mobs on Triumph... -
I'm a /rad corruptor so most of the damage I get is burst damage and then nothing....I am lvl 33 now and I just now got Ironman...I'm not one to badge hunt and I'm certainly not going to farm for a badge unless I absolutely need it for an accolade, but I refuse to farm for the dmg badges....or the debt badges....or healing badges...So to me, making that a requirement for one accolade and the completion of the LRSF seems kinda retarded.

I agree with Cat, The PvE elements are definately a good thing
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll translate: I like getting more XP for less work thanks to pumped up XP in PvP.
You can still have PvE mobs just remove debt/xp. Make it about actually fighting for control or for a reason and not about avoiding debt or farming xp, which is especially easy since those wonderful heavys do all the work on those orange+ mobs/turrets and give us tons of XP in RV...
[/ QUOTE ]
No I like going hunting when I run out of Inspirations. Without the NPCs, I'm just a floating squishy waiting to be ASed. I only PvP with one toon and I play mostly in the PvE zones with my corruptor. I've not done many missions in Siren's and none in Warburg at all. Without Debt in the PvP zones, there is no xp(not a big deal for me) Nothing in them should count toward Badges(I know that a lot of badge hunters wait until there is no risk but there was risk to begin with. With no debt in the zones, there is no debt to begin with. Therefore, no one should be able to farm badges in the zones.), no Enhancement Drops, No Prestige Gain, no influence/Infamy gain, and no inspiration drops.
Since I am a PvPer, most of the prestige I net for my Hero group is playing in RV. So no debt in PvP zones would mean for me that I could not get my inspirations I need, my enhancement drops that I use, or the Prestige that I earn for my Hero group. -
[ QUOTE ]
the problem is some of us like the PvP and PvE elements combined.
I for one do not want them seperated no matter how much bold caps text you use.
Pure PvP ? go to the arena.
What YOU want != others want remember this.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with Cat, The PvE elements are definately a good thing -
Alright, so what I am gathering is that ppl are mad because if they are fighting npcs and a pc comes and finishes the job, they are mad because they get debt?!
Really ppl, The pc didn't do much so it makes sense to give you at least some debt. Definately a change for the good. -

Zone Giant Monsters are getting the buff. GM's that are mission-specified (like the ambush ones, or the Eden trial, etc) are not being touched. Those GMs are "arch-villain" level, i.e. made to be beaten by 1 team.
Zone Giant Monsters are the GM's that appear randomly (or triggered) in zones. This does not include the ambushes that are triggered from missions.
This change will be both CoH and CoV.
[/ QUOTE ]
Does Hamidon count as a Zone Giant Monster? Sounds like he does.
Man, I really don't want to face an even tougher Hamidon. These raids already last long enough post-ED.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hamidon is a... um... "Hamidon"-class entity. He's not a Giant Monster as defined by Giant Monsters. The Mitos are Arch-villain class, not GMs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are the mitos not Hamidon class also? They do not say AV or Monster, They also say Hamidon
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you mean under the name where it lists their "gang", or where it lists minion/LT/boss?
I do know that Mitos are AV class from the change to mission AVs to AVs/EBs thing - it doesn't affect SF/TF or worldmap AVs. Mitos were given as teh only worldmap av spawn.
[/ QUOTE ]
ahh, ok, I thought they were also under the Hamidon Class....Gotcha now...I guess If I really wanted to find out first hand I could go run a suicide mission to the Hive real quick. -
