This isn't really fair to people who don't obsessively level to the detriment of all other things.
Like food. And friends. And sex.

And I mean it being 45+, not that it would be fair to those already 40. If they want to see a race from 40 to 45, then fine. But what about the people who tried all the ATs in CoV, and never bothered to grind up to 40? My highest in CoV, for example, is 34.

I couldn't get to level 45 in the time allotted, so obviously there's no need for further debate on my part.
I wouldn't worry about it. More than likely they're trying to setup a couple runs for the Recluse SF. Friends and I plan on cracking that when it goes live - just like we did with Hami. For some reason I feel a lot of people are underestimating how hard it's going to be. Seeing as though it'll be granting Synths (that's what I'm calling them) as rewards I doubt it be the average CoX cakewalk that most of the TF/SFs have become.
Aren't they wiping the server this week? That could put a dent in the levelling plan for the villans.

Yup, they are. I think CuppaJo said they were going to back it up, and I imagine they could restore current characters after the Recluse's Victory event, but as mentioned that basically leaves no time to level characters for the race. Even if we had more time, I've still been having difficulties getting into missions; no level 45 for me.

Wow? And actual server wipe? That'll be the first one for as long as I've been playing this game (since just before I1)
It's a temporary server wipe for the RV event. It'll be restored back to normal after.
I hope they use 2-ply for the wipe lol.
Wish I could make it to the test server that day :-(
I wonder if the race will be the Grandville Summit I suggested a little while ago when it was announced about the drones spawning to kill players who advance passed their allowed level in the zone?
I haven't been on test yet to see Grandville, but I always thought it would be a cool race. See who can get to the top of Grandville the fastest despite the arbitor drones shooting at you.
I cannot confirm or deny these rumors.

Since there is really nothing gated to 45+ other than some soloable story arcs and the Recluse SF, I'd say this contest is just a "finish the Recluse SF" race.
I predict that we'll get 7 villains standing around broadcasting for an 8th.

I'm glad the players are grinding it out for our benefit, because it's obvious the Devs won't (no level bump, and the RV event is only to 40...). It's like they don't want the PPPs heavily tested at all. It doesn't make any sense.

w00t Radio's spies at Cryptic Studios have discovered a very disturbing thing! They're mocking you! Yes that's right, they don't think your good enough for what they have planned for you. We're so shocked by this that we're letting the cat out of the bag!
This Friday, May 26th we need EVERY level 45+ villain to meet us on the test server by 11:30 pm Central for a little race, a competition to find out who the best villains in the game are. The race however requires your villain to be at least level 45 and your going to need to work with others to complete it. This is the most complicated and diabolical race w00t Radio's ever been a part of and only the best of the best will able to even compete.
If you have a high level villain on the live servers now you need to get over to test right now and start getting to level 45.
IF YOU DO NOT you could very well loose out on a shot at a full free year of City of Heroes / City of Villains.
That's right.. I said a full year paid for by the devs, all because they think your not capable of completing this race!
Here's the snag.. the remainder of the race details won't be told to you until 11:30p.m Central.
What we do know now:
-You must be at least a level 45 villain.
To complicate things further... you don't have all week to do it get to 45 but the Recluse's Victory event will prevent you from leveling your regular characters from 10 a.m. on May 24 to 11a.m. or 12 noon on May 26th. This means you have LESS THAN 2 full days to get from 40 to 45 on your villain and get some friends there too b/c your going to need help.
-You must work with other villains to succeed.
I know you can do it, there's plenty of you l33t players out there who can level a character in a heartbeat!. Don't you want to play on the Dev's dime for a full year? Get Crackin! I'll have more info for you as soon as I can sneak it out of the NCSoft / Cryptic offices (they caught our last spy before he could get out alive!).
