Isolator badge PLZ!

no it isnt cause i did read the entire thread.

If any new content for low level heroes or villains is introduced in the game, you do not have to re roll another toon in order to do the content, that is what the exemplar system is for.
[/ QUOTE ]
if you found a way to exemplar your villain and get the jailbird badge let me know.
[ QUOTE ]
We are talking about a badge that pre-i2 players never had the chance to earn as everyone else did.
[/ QUOTE ]
you do have a change to earn it. roll another toon.
honestly if i was around since before i2 id consider it an honor not to have that badge cause it means im a true veteran.

[ QUOTE ]
Well maybe if you werent all lazy idiots no offense but thats what I normally see, u could of got the badge. Unless you simply didn't know, though I found it on my first time through CoH on my own. Usally though whenever I ask for help in Outbreak to get the badge halfthe people say they dont feel like it. I dont feel these mobs should be added. It makes those of us who worked our butts off for ten or so minutes, doing it feel better. I love seeing Im a fairly small/decent mob, holding this badge.
[/ QUOTE ]
Kids these days.
Honestly, I really do not see the issue with giving the people pre issue 2 a chance. Especially if they are still in game this long.
It is nothing like the Holiday or other Special event badges and well it does help people who pre date badges that were in fact eligible but as the poster above me said.....wouldn't have even concieved the idea of killing 100 of the buggers.
[/ QUOTE ]
I said for the most part up there. Never knew there were no badges before i2 Sorry bout that, but ya I still stick with my opinion. That or somehow just reward those with it that have been there before i2. Im sure theres records somewhere or something, that can tell who was all there and who wasnt.

See again you may read it but you do not understand what you are reading here.
I said if any new content is added to the game, you can go back I never said you can go back to the Tutorial. Reading comprehension is a pain huh?

See you didn't read this entire thread or you would know that the talk here is about pre-i2 heroes being able to get the badge, we are not talking about new heroes that you create to get the badge.
Sheessh, why do I even bother with some people...lol

yes you said when new content is added to the game you can go back. new content was added to the tutorial which last time i checked is part of the game. you cannot go back and get it. hence your statement isnt always true which is the point im trying to make.
i did indeed read the entire thread. you want to get the isolator badge on a toon that outleveled it before it was added. as i have said several times, you cant so roll another toon.
reading comprehension is a pain, huh?
Really? What new content was added to the Tutorial?
As far as I remmeber the jailbird has been there since day one. So I believe your statement is in fact incorrect.
As for isolator, it was introduced along with every other badge in the game and at the time the badge was introduced, no one knew of it and or no one knew that this badge would never be able to be obtained outside of outbreak.
So please tell me what new content has been added to Outbreak and or Breakout since the release?
I didn't think so.

that doesnt change the fact that it was new content. new content which you had outleveled. obviously someone found out about it. just not soon enough. so your beef is that since you didnt know about it when you were able to get it, you should be able to get it now. well i didnt know about jailbird when i first started hunting badges. i wonder why you dont hear me complaining?
Well thats your fault you didn't know about it, it was there since day one and since beta. Everyone of these badges in CoV were found before the game went live, so if you missed it, then thats your lack of knowing.
isolator was intriduced on a whim and we never had the heads up that this badge would be there therefore we didn't have the option of researching for this badge as the CoV players did before the game went live, so its a completely different scenario.
Why are you not complaining? I have no idea, maybe you found you missed it after you created your character and had the chance to reroll at a very low level and therefore not missing any event badges along the way. So you lose nothing, so you have no reason to complain, and or you are not a avid badge collector like the other 153 people on this thread that would like the chance to get this badge since they did not know or have a heads up to get this badge without having to delete a level 50 hero to get a badge.

no ones making you delete your 50. i was 20 or something when i discovered jailbird and that toon is still around doesnt have jailbird but plenty of my others do. just roll another, get the badge you missed, and include it in your total badge count.

Dude, that is the most ridiculous comment I have heard yet.
I have one badge collector I call my main, I want the badge on him, thats what is important to me and the many who still need it as they are in the same boat as I am, they want it on their main badge collector / main hero.
To reroll another toon and then get isolator and say "Hey, my main has Isolator now, but I had to get it on my alt but its still my account, so I have the complete collection"
LOL
Pathetic, if you ask me.

REALLY? So youre saying that my pre-i2 character will get Isolator as soon as I create an alt? Or is there something in addition that the alt needs to do in order for my pre-i2 character to get this badge?
Thank you, and goodnight.

Look, can someone just call someone else a Nazi on this thread and let it die? You've all stated your arguments and have drawn the skirmish lines that neither side is going to cross. No-one is going to convince LiquidX that the principle of being able to get badges you missed is a good thing, just like no-one is going to convince Zubeen... Zubenelgenaki... Zebalski... that guy that he shouldn't be able to get Isolator because he missed it the first time.
Right now you are just adding to postcounts. Hopefully Positron is aware of what he's caused in this thread.

Outbreak receieved a tutorial on enhancements about 6 months or so ago.
Also Isolator badge (the topic of this thread) was a change, but I'm sure you knew and just didn't mention that one.

Hmm. I'm not quite sure why you chose to respond to my post with this, seeing as I basically agree with you; perhaps it was just a case of clicking on the most immediately available post.
The point is a valid one, and I have yet to see anyone offer a rational rebuttal of it: the majority of those saying "Pre I2" badgers should be given the opportunity to collect all the badges will NOT say that post-I2 badgers should have the same opportunity. They believe that Isolator--and presumably any other new low-level badges introduced to the game--should be made available to them, but when asked why newer players shouldn't be allowed a chance to get the Halloween badges, for instance, they evade the question with a vague, "The Holiday badges are different."
Why are they different? Well, the rationalizations are generall vague, but for the most part they boil down to: "Because we have them and the newer players don't, and we like it that way."
In short, the argument boils down to "Older players should get preferential treatment."
Me? I say that's bullpucky. I couldn't care less whether all the badges are available or not, but it should be all or nothing. Either everyone gets a chance at every badge, or we just accept that characters from different time periods in the game will have different badges.
This WHOLE thread is nothing but a bunch of whiners who have thier precious badge count posted in their Signature as some sort of "oh look how uber I am". Well I got news for you folks, this here is the truth on the matter...

Here's my biggest beef with the whole "I want isolator" thing...
We have a *small* percentage of people - *very* early badge hunters - who want the devs to code, test, and implement a system for them to go back and get... a badge. A badge that, as has been stated, does *nothing* but sit there and look - well, like it's there.
I have yet to hear any of them stick up and say "While we're at it, people should be able to get Celebrant, even though their toons weren't here at the 1 year mark, and get XYZ badge that are also now not obtainable."
Of course, if *any* of that were possible, it'd pretty much take any meaning out of the badges themselves, now, wouldn't it...
I'd be perfectly fine with them being datamined for character creation date and just auto-given, say, a "Mythic" badge for being around pre-badges... of course, I'm sure several would *still* complain they couldn't get isolator... and we'd have newer badgehunters complaining they couldn't get *that* badge.
Me, I'd rather see the time and effort put into new content, or fixing the preexisting bugs.
[/ QUOTE ]
So you missed out on ONE badge, big whoop... heaven forbid the devs dont humor you by allowing you to increase that badge count in your sig by +1. Sad, very very sad.

Well I for one, do not feel the new heroes should be denied the special event badges. As I said earlier in this post the special event badge has the chance to still return as no redname has ever said that they will not bring them back, we have already seen 1 return, so its a sign that the others may as well.
As for the annual badges, this may be a little hard. I have quite a few heroes I forgot to log in on this one but I feel this I will never get as this is my mistake I missed them, so I'm not going to ask for them, if the chance we do get it then great but I'm not expecting to. I feel this is a one a year badge and thats it. If you were not here or forgot to log in as I did then I guess we are out of luck on this particular badge

I disagree. There is a world of difference in missing an event that ran for a specified timeframe and a permanent badge that had the system been in place at the time would have been obtained.
For me personally, I do not mind not having isolator. But, it would be lying to say that I would love to have it. I would do whatever task they set before me to get it. At least, short of deleting and recreating my collector. Because losing the badges I have now is paramont cutting off my nose despite my face.

no difference at all. The time you chose to play the character in did not qualify for a particular badge. Whether it be a zone specific badge, or a kills badge, whatever it may be. The character does not have the badge, because during the time the character was created and played, there was no badge.

Oh, I get the point just fine.
You have nothing of substance to contribute to the thread, so instead you just make totally juvenile and very rude personal attacks. Not only that, but you aren't even any GOOD at it. I have yet to see anyone in this or any similar thread post their total badge counts in their sig files. Therefore, the entire basis of your half-baked ad hominem is completely lacking.

Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing. You really should try it sometime.
I'll make a deal with you, Liquid. You go back through this thread and find specific examples where I said you cannot state your opinions. I'll go back and find specific examples where I acknowledge your opinions as credible even though I disagree with them. If you find fewer examples than I do (without any obvious twisting of my words), then you concede the point and withdraw from this thread. If you find more examples than I do, I will leave the thread instead.
