Nice update there on your Avatar too Posi, ...looks TUFF, I certainly feel "grey" to him...

Now how about a nice little Influence/Prestiege boost so we can afford all this wonderful stuff we'll be able to do and wear in issue 7

ahhh great thatll help one badge that can actually be gotten on any day of the week..

i wonder why posi cant fix the bugged ones??. or at least share beter info then the "ignoring" hes been doing.

ahhh well..

A: I7
B: They might all have been fixed by now. It takes a while for patches to filter down through QA. The fix might be sitting right behind I7 in the queue, meaning we won't see it for some time.

For the most part, I have had decent customer service from the GMs. What upsets me is two things.

First, if you are going to have canned responses, then make sure those responses are accurate. Stating that a GM cannot award a badge, when you know that they can and have is misleading. If the particular GM doesn't have the authority to do so, then state that.

Second, but along the same lines, if you are sending a canned response admit it, don't deny it. The first response to the OP is, to my eye, an obvious canned response. Maybe he actually typed it and didn't cut and paste it. Fine. But the GM should not have defended that point in his follow up response. That's horrible from a customer relations standpoint, in my opinion.

I had a similar experience when I was petitioning the GMs to investigate Caleb. I got canned responses that he was not bugged. When I asked for a deeper look than a canned response, they denied that it was a canned response, affirmed the "non-buggy-ness" of Caleb, and intimated that I had no idea what I was talking about. A few days later a red name confirmed that Caleb was, in fact, bugged.

Considering the word is 'incomptence', not 'incompetents', yes, it is a swipe at you. Considering you were not attempting to say that more than one Gm is incomptent, hence incomptents would be correct.

Suckle the irony.

Got some more info on the Warburg rocket for you:

There was a period of time in November/early December where no count was being tracked or even stored for datamining.

Currently the count only incrementals if there is an actual rocket launched. i.e. the graphic of the rocket leaving the pad. It is possible to get the reward without the rocket launch animation happening (say it has recently happened for someone else). These are not currently being tracked or stored.

The fix is twofold:

1) The badge will have a meter on it. It will be retroactive for how many rockets you launched in the past (i.e. how many you have credit for). It will not count rocket launches that had no animation associated with it.

2) Receiving the reward will count towards the badge. You don't need to see the rocket "take off" to get credit.

Both these fixes are in an upcoming build.

Thanks Posi, it just seems like a lot of PvP zone related badges are/ were bugged:
<ul type="square">[*] Timers for time spent in PvP zones resetting when you zone (have to spend consecutive hours in the zone)[*] Gettting PvP mission badges before the prerequisite number of misison is achieved[*] Not getting PvP zone task badges when requirements are met (rocket launches, firebase takeovers, etc.)[/list]
I'm not sure if all of these are fixed yet either. Within the last two weeks, my wife had to spend 5 consecutive hours logged into BB and SC each to get the silly badges. Even most PvPers don't spend that many consecutive hours in PvP

Edit: Funny thing is, the GM was no help for her, said she needed to spend more time in the zone until the badge was rewarded. We thought it was accumulative time, and she never stayed in the zone for more than an hour or two at a time. We didn't find out you need consecutive time until a team mate told us. If there were a slider for these badges, this bug would have been known abot after I6 launch isntead of much later.

Yes, I was told twice by GM's no progress could be found under my toon's name. Needless to say, I was not happy, as I launched the rocket a full 6 times *right* when Warburg first appeared on live servers.

I am going to assume this does NOT apply to those missiles launched during the period mentioned in the first quote?

Ahah! I'll bet that's why everyone's count is inconsistent. Oh well, I know for certain my Blaster has at least one legit launch to his record; it was right before CoV was released, and everyone was oohing and aahing at the missile launch. I bet the others were in the non-counting period, though.

If there's no data to be mined, even the almighty couldn't give you credit for something that wasn't tracked.

Actually one might be able to look at temp powers. They can't be traded and can only be had by launching said missle. This would then at least give people something who had their timer reset.

True, providing those temp powers had not been spent. 5 missile temp powers could be mined per toon, depending on how labor-intensive such a task is.

It took me 11 launches on Guardian. One of my launches was done immediately after someone else had launched a rocket, so there was no rocket graphic/animation when I launched it. Just FYI.

Positron as the OP I'd like to personally thank you for your attention to this post and to the Warburg Rocket.

I never had any doubts about the Devs paying attention to us. Just the consistency of service from GM's!

Thank you once and again!

Could you clarify? Does that mean that recieving the reward *is* the trigger for badge credit? And, if so, does already having the reward (temp power) mean that you don't get credit, as you can't recieve another until you've used your first?

how about the damn GMs show up when you petition a bugged mission. Recently waited over an HOUr during a non peak time and no one ever showed

The way it works now:

You only get credit for launching the rocket if the animation of the rocket launching takes place.

The way it will work once patched:

You will get credit for launching the rocket as soon as you recieve the reward, thus even if no launch animation happens, you still get credit.

When you say reward - are you talking about the temp power?

If so, does that mean that the temp power has to be used before launching the rocket?

generally from experience the awards 'overwrite' so are awarded and bump the previous one.

eg.
Shivan shard partly used - run the BB mission - gets a fresh shard with 5 charges.

If it has to be used thats not really a big deal. Just use the power before you activate the launch computer.

Positron: Another suggestion to make. Maybe it would be nice to make the launch computer "inoperable" if there is no rocket in the launchpad.

Basically give the launch computer a delay or refresh timer that coinsides with the launch.

I've launched the rocket at least 8 times, and watched it leave the pad every time, and the badge hasn't been awarded to me.

I have left the zone in between launches....I would assume that has something to do with it as well.

Right now, the number's still 10, I think. And you need to have done all of 'em after one of the old patches.
