Well said.
I may go launch a Warburg missle one last time. I kind of enjoyed the danger of having to sneak past the PVPers in that zone! -
I WILL be there on the last day, painful or not. And I've already started to think about where the five or six characters I've invested so much time in will log out for the last time. God, I'm a grown man and typing that almost made me cry. The last time.
Plant dom? Probably the Hive. Thug MM? Right next to Recluse in Grandville, his rightful place at last. My precious Empathy defender, and my first character...has to be Talos. Had some great times there back in the day.
And my main...my beloved Ultra Woman...fighting one last battle somewhere with the fine heroes of Protector. -
Taking down Adamastor solo in the old DA cemetery. Inv/SS tanker. He couldn't kill me but my hits were doing mega low damage. Put on hover and follow and auto attacked him for an hour while I cleaned up the house.
Hami raids. The lag and the fun.
And flying. I'll never forget flying for the first time. -
Lots. But most of all my Ultra Woman. Lvl 50 inv/ss tank.
Rest in peace girl. Job well done. -
I vote you make one last video...for yourself.
You've made so many great vids for the rest of us. Make the last one for you.
Do what your heart tells you. -
God. I didn't know which one of the many threads to post in, so I guess this one will do. I've been a frequent player and here since the beginning. Not much of a poster though. So much I never got to do. Hope I can fit it all in before the end.
What a sucker punch.
Thanks to everyone. The devs. The other players. All the great folks on Protector.
And my base was almost what I wanted. And my main was almost where I wanted. And...
Crap. -
I get what Shatterghost is trying to say though, and was thinking the same thing.
With power customization and side switching both about to become realities, the last of the "big ones" are going to be checked off the wish list.
I know it's been expressed before. But hopefully this will clear the way for a lot more new CONTENT. -

Considering the word is 'incomptence', not 'incompetents', yes, it is a swipe at you. Considering you were not attempting to say that more than one Gm is incomptent, hence incomptents would be correct.
Suckle the irony.

If anyone else has anymore flawed logic, please share it with me.

Out of curiosity, could you point out exactly what the flawed logic is? I've read and reread the post you reference. And, for the life of me, I don't see it. -

And there's honesty vs. raw honesty. I'm not asking for PR spin. I'm asking for professionalism. I'm asking for some thought as to how to say things before a random clicking of the submit button. I'm shocked that I even have to point out that there is a middle ground between "whatever comes to mind right here, right now" and "smooth marketing/pr blah blah."

From someone who has been in customer service for a long time, and is currently running a pretty big customer contact operation, I can tell you that this is a commonly held, and completely misguided conception.
What there is a difference between are professionalism and butt kissing. Professionalism doesn't mean I have to prostrate myself before every customer and give them all exactly what they want. "The customer is always right" is a complete fallacy and one that gives people the idea that they can have whatever they want. They aren't and they can't.
Professionalism means I give you the straight truth, that I do it without name calling, yelling or using profanity. It doesn't mean that I sugar coat, give in to every demand or speak to my customers like they're five year olds who can't handle reality and need it tempered for them.
I haven't posted much, but read the boards pretty religiously. And I have seen no instance of Statesman being unprofessional, rude or inappropriate. People need to stop feeling as if they're entitled to be treated like royalty simply because they are a consumer of a product. Unless a company has only one customer, which seems unlikely, that is never going to happen.
And Statesman, I'll add your brother to the growing list of fine men and women who are in my thoughts. Best wishes to your family.
