Current Badge Issues (updated 2-21-06)
Positron:
In regard to your "air of mystery" badges...
I feel that at least the Influence badges should have meters, for the simple reason that Bling is necessary to unlock a contact. We should be able to gauge how far we are along when a badge is specifically required for some particular goal.

I totally agree with this. Either give it a meter or change the requirement for Buzz Saw from Bling to something else.
Positron, while you're poking around changing badge texts please update Agent Provocateur. It still says 50 PvP Missions. thanks
I am also going to ask if we can get badge information updates put into the patch notes. We love the fixes and the help that is being given to the Badge Hunting community, but it seems like there is a dance that forms with every single patch. We have to run around and guess what is fixed and what is still in the process of being fixes. Is this on purpose for your "air of mystery," due to lack of foresight, or do you guys have a list of things that you deem "worthy" to be in the patch notes.
It may be something as simple as: If you put everything that was done to the game in the patch notes each patch description would be humongous. I doubt any of us on this side would mind though. We like to see what is going on with the world that we live in, and most of us don't like playing the guessing game about what happened in this patch and that patch. I know some thing should stay mysteries, and some things you guys have decided to leave a mystery for whatever reason, but the things that you talk openly with us about shouldn't be among that list. If we know it is explicitly happening, it's not exactly hidden. The only obfuscation comes in the time it appears.
Please let us know your feelings on the situation, because a lot of us have been curious about this for some time.
Hero side, Agent Provocater either has text that is wrong or is being awarded wrongly.

This is awarded for defeating Rularru Sentry Bosses. Is there a mission in CoV that has access to Rularru Sentry Bosses? I don't know off hand.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, there's at least 1 from Technician Naylor. It's "Rescue Rimsey" in the 35-40 contact chain.
Edit: Just to clarify further, it does indeed spawn the eyeball Overseer bosses.
[/ QUOTE ]
And to make you aware of the situation, I tried to get this badge yet again yesterday and killed over 20-25 bosses and the bar never appeared. I have defeated over 200 so far according to my count and have not yet received a badge for this.
So I would think it is not working.

For the Overseers badge (the eyeballs are the Rularuu Sentries, the boss Sentries are Overseers), have you tried killing Overseers that are at least level 40 or higher? In CoH, they don't naturally spawn under level 40, so that might be what's causing the problem of no badge showing up.
Just adding my thanks to those above for your very helpful post, Positron. It's appreciated by all us badgers
Just got my Warden and Mob Specialist badges tonight. I got the Mob Specialist maybe 50-75 before warden and I got it on a named Lt. kill. So the number is not as high as warden at the least...probably like 250 named.
Positron, have you taken a look at the Mu Striker Gladiator Badge for Heroes at all? I must have killed over 200 hundred Mu by doing Multiple Chistmas event missions, Pocket D missions, and Siren's call hunting around the villian base. However, I still have not picked this one up. Thanks.
So, based on not being listed on the "list of badge issues",
Having some form of progress list for the Dimensional Warder badge (Praetorian AVs) is not something the Devs are currently looking at implementing?
<must complain more loudly>
Wow, bars for everything? Hooray for Positron! This is a dazzling amount of QoL concessions you're making for us here. Thanks again for the BP masks in Sharkhead! And in Bloody Bay, for that matter; it's a pain hunting the things in Talos.
[ QUOTE ]
The real problem with Dimensional Warder is when you think you've killed all the Preatorians but can't tell which one is missing. I don't see how a sliding meter would help figure that out. Maybe we need a Personal Info tab with a listing of all AVs/Elites that we kill?
[/ QUOTE ]
Pardon me for asking, but why is this necessary? The Praetorians are all self-contained within two story arcs. Even if you blow past Tina Macintyre, the only one you'll miss is Anti-Matter. Everyone else you can get worry-free by going through Maria Jenkin's missions.

Actually Posi just said that it should have a count already, but that it was impossible to do a check list. (possibly the count is not on live yet?)
great news here. I think however the easiest way to track dimensional warder would be simply give a badge for each AV. Maybe do something along the lines of 10 times the victor where it changes each time you off her (or at least it did that I think, maybe i am just smoking crack)
I kept track of my praetorian kills by sending myself an ingame email with the name of the praetorian in the header.
Speeding Through New DA Repeatables || Spreadsheet o' Enhancements || Zombie Skins: better skins for these forums || Guide to Guides
I have every Praetorian checked off the list (some multiple times) and guess what, NO BADGE
The pre-requisites are all accounted for, but no badge. So, which one of the praetorians that I think I have credit for do I actually NOT have credit for?
"Impossible" is a bunch of crap. The server knows which I have done, or it can't track the badge. So, why can't the server TELL ME which it thinks I've done?
"impossible is dev speak for "I don't feel like doing it""
First Anti-matter from Tina doesn't count unless you can take him out before he defeats himself. I've not seen that happen before.
You only get one more shot at him in Tina's arc later on. He's usually the culprit for people that are sure they have everyone for Dim Warder.
I've already forgotten about most of you

Yes, Im aware of the difference, Im a badge nut I should
But to answer your question our mobs were spawning at level 42 so yes, they were the right overseers. They just weren't counting towards the badge.

Anti-matter 3 or 4 times.
Positron,
I really would hope the Dev Team would reconsider the proper counter on the Bling Badge. I understand that you want an air of mystery, and I'm cool with that, but the Bling Badge is tied to a hidden contact that won't talk to you if you're level 30+. I've had 2 character manage to get Bling in time, and one failed at it despite taking measures to avoid hitting 30.
If it wasn't tied to an unlockable contact, I'd agree with you on this.
Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!
Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

Second guess: Bobcat's MoG might negate the damage you do to her, nullifying her as a successful tick towards the badge.
Only other guesses involve you being wrong and just flat out sucking, but I won't mention those........yet.

There are a few on my list that I have only marked off "ONCE", and I've been putting my efforts towards them first.
Bobcat is marked off several times as well.
As for my general incompetence, well, I didn't realize that was up for negotiation

Because not everyone is doing their arc. Sometimes you end up getting a number of them thru pickup groups and just want to complete the badge.
What about a Trophy list like the Gladiator list. Gladiators are not technically badges, they don't count for Pathfinder, and they award based on kills. This is the same, right? 1 kill of Neuron gets you the Neuron Trophy. And so on for every AV in the game. Positron thinks there are too many tabs on the Badge window, put this as a third tab on Missions, since they're similar to Souveniers.
As for Anti-Matter not counting... I thought the second time you face him he didn't self-destruct. So he'd be a reliable kill, you just need the proper mission. Maybe I'm wrong about that and always got lucky. (I'll add this to the issue list next update. He should either count all the time, or should have the "turn tail and run" code instead of "Anti-Matter has defeated Anti-Matter" destruct.)

The Gladiator requires killing Mu Guardians specificaly, Strikers don't count.
This is also a Level 29 Bug. Try exemplaring for some Arachnos missions in Bloody Bay with a large team.
Outstanding! Any word on how many patches down the pipe we've got to wait on?
