Y'know what I don't want to see? The Babbage buffed to the point where a Synapse team can't be expected to beat him, leaving him to rampage through Skyway at will.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's sort of what happens with the Kronos Titan. I'm not sure a group of 8 could take it out. We couldn't even dent it's health with 5-6, and with 14 it still took several minutes to kill him. If there weren't people around willing to help, I likely would've been forced to just let him go window shopping along the Red River.
But Kronos is soloable... if you have an issue 2 invul/em tank with perma-unstoppable fighting an issue 2 Kronos without the giant monster code

You don't need to defeat Babbage to complete the Synapse TF.

The smart thing to do would be to change ambush-Babbage, ambush-Kronos, and the two Quarries in the Eden trial into regular AV-style non-giant Monsters (like portal Adamastor or Numina's Jurrasik--unless they've changed since the last time I fought them; it's been a while). Then the single teams they're intended for could still beat them, but the zone event monsters could get the buffing most of them (not Lusca) sorely need. Seriously, I've beaten Adamastor in DA with four random strangers, with no deaths or even serious injuries. That's just sad. Two full teams literally vaporize the poor shlub.
Team of 6-7 can take Kronos down fairly easily depending on the team's debuffing capability. But if your team doesn't have those debuffs, forget it.
The named zone-spawn monsters(with the exception of Lusca) are generally killable with a team of 3-4, so I could see a buff to them being beneficial. Babbage in particular is a real wimp. Took 4 of us around 30 seconds to tear him down.

You might need to buff Giant Monsters then. There's not one in the game that requires more than one team to defeat.

Um, assuming this wasn't a smart-alecky reply... what about KRONOS? I mean, he's a Giant Monster in that outside encounter. But he's also an ambush.. and a fast approaching one, at that. If the hero's group can take him on, cause it now requires more than one group, then hoo-boy... is Founders Falls gonna have a some free-roaming KRONOS about...
... then again, there would be those happy with such a thing. >_>

Basically: if it was meant to be taken down by more than 1 team, it gives the badge. Mission versions are scaled down versions that are more like AV's, thus able to be defeated by a single team, and thus do not give the badge.

Seriously, let a team of a Sonic Defender, a Rad defender, a Blapper, and an Ice Tank slaughter Babbage... don't make it hard for them...

woooo dude!
This is not true of even con lvl teams vs monsters! Unless the point of monsters is to be farmed by lvl 40-50 characters no team of even lvl players can take on a monster and win.

I dunno. Took it out with a Scrapper and a Blaster with a SK'd Kinetics Defender. I'm not saying he's easy, and that took a long time (10 minutes, probably).
But he's single team content. One team should be able to take him out.
And I agree that the wandering DE do not need to be harder to kill or to hit any harder. As it is they can two shot Scrappers (let alone the Controllers mentioned above). It's kinda hard to fight in melee when you can't afford to be in melee range of what you're fighting.
The big, wandering solo ones, sure. But how many teams do you really think you're going to get in Crey's Folly to kill Jurasic?
The more I think about it the more preposterous I think this is.
The correct change should be that every team that contributed something reasonable should get the badge. The threshold should be lower. 10% or even 5%.
What's the harm?

As for Accolades and Exemplaring, it might seem unfair that you lose Accolade powers when you Exemplar, but to others it seems unfair that you HAVE Accolade powers when you Exemplar. Since Exemplar is you "playing yourself at a lower level" it makes sense to take away your Accolades. I don't see this changing.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you want to keep some level of restriction yet open up the accolades a bit... make it such that when you exemplar, you can't have the accolade effect at a level lower than the lowest level req badge. Some of the accolades requires badges that are in SL 40+ zones. So those accolades would be restricted to level 40+ characters. exemplar down to 39 and poof, it goes away.
But at the same time, a level 50 who got his accolade at 50 wouldn't lose it if he exemplared down to level 42. It evens the playing field for characters of that accolade range.
I can't see someone wanting to have all their accolades working at level 1. That's just plain wrong. But making them be available (during exemplar) all the way down to their minimum possible level obtainable, that's not so bad.
Would this be a difficult thing?

Thanks Positron. I have one question.
Since CoH and CoV badges are the same, why doesn't CoV have a version of the Transmogrified badge from CoH? You get that badge after completing the respec trial once (no matter which of the three incarnations you do), and it doesn't change no matter if you've used a respec or not. Why can't that badge be awarded to Villains and then have Arbiter Leery key off of Transmogrified?
It makes sense to me, but there must be a reason this isn't the way it's set up.
If I have to waste a respec just so I can do a couple missions to help pad out the empty 35-40 range, I'm going to be a sad brute
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, on CoH you do have two badges. The title and graphic is the same, but the text changes--before respec it says "your powers are changing", after respec it says "your powers have changed"
But I agree that you should not have to waste a respec just to unlock a contact. I'd say don't bother, just do newspaper missions. If I'd known that clearing the mission would require wasting the respec, I'd never have taken his missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm glad I completed Leery before this change went in. I certainly won't touch him now unless I have a character that NEEDS a respec.

Positron, please, for the love of all that is sweet and munchy reorder the badges! The helter-skelter ordering of the badges, particularly the Achievement badges, makes it rather difficult to find particular badges.
Also, I heard players report that it's apparently not possible to get Villain on a Hero by being confused in a PvP zone and defeating the Longbow there. Is this true?
Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Not true. Baphomet appears in one of the later Shard TFs (I'm pretty sure it's the 4th one, from Faathim the Kind; you face two psi-using AVs (Mother Mayhem and Malaise?), Baphomet, and Nemesis?, before the end.
I think someone in my team earned the badge off of that version of Baphomet, too, so it counts.
Task Forces shouldn't need 8 people to start ... it's not fun.

Whoa whoa whoa. First off, Lusca does. Secondly, it can be REALLY hard to get ONE full team to take any monster down aside from Kraken. There are MULTIPLE instances of Lusca up at almost any time in IP because everyone who wants the badge has it and no one wants to put up with the difficulty of taking him down AGAIN.
Villianside, Scrapyard is seen CONSTANTLY. It took me 3 sightings on my brute to finally get THREE teammates to help take him down. It is VERY hard to put together a Monster team, let alone multiple teams.
Yeah, I think that you just might want to hold off on buffing Giant Monsters, just based off of a small handful of peoples' suggestions.
