    Interesting news

Maybe with a bit of luck GamesCampus will pick up CoH (if no other company does).
Plenty of companies out there to do it.
  2. I really hope you can continue doing this!

This. The blaster changes. The pool customization. The bodysuit costume pack and the cybertech dreadlocks. When I think about these things I get both sad and angry about the decision to axe the game and the hardworking folks at the studio. i24 was going to be glorious IMO.
Yep... it makes me incredibly sad, I knew people who's reason for quitting was largely their annoyance at Hasten messing up their costumes, and similar issues that since then have been resolved, or were about to be addressed with i24...

As a genre, Science Fiction is as if not more popular than Fantasy, but the sci-fi genre in games tends to be over shadowed in favour of fanstasy (with the possible exception of EvE). I did look at GW2 after recommendation of some of my old SG mates, but I've also tried (and am absolutely loving) SW:TOR. Most will probably tell me why GW2 is the better game, but my digestive system will simply not allow me to endure yet another RPG based on a tired and much over used formula for the setting.
Yep, SW:TOR is also great, I played it for many months myself until the inevitable burnout kicked in shortly before 1.3 went live.
Of course it also isn't doing all that well... here's hoping that the F2P coming later this year will save that game, since just like CoH it deserves to stick around =/

In my case it came down to buying the serial number... no CDs or anything, so I'm fairly sure that once I redeemed it (months ago) that was it, no refunds.

    This is the win-win-win

NCSoft keeps all the IP, doesn't contribute any funding, and just collects checks. Paragon Studios continues to develop the game and just has to keep it profitable. In case of a COH2, NCSoft could still do that. And the players get to keep their game.
That would be a great solution!
Now if only THEY would realize it... >.<
  7. Like many others I had already pre-purchased GW2 before NCSoft dropped the hammer on CoH, and despite the utter jackass move NC pulled... yes, GW2 is a good game, and in many ways the next Gen MMO...
That doesn't mean I want to give up CoH, as GW2 is a completely different game with its own strengths and limitations.

The game didn't get ditched just because it wasn't profitable enough, it was because NCSoft made some dumb business decisions and decided to recoup the costs by cutting their least profitable (but actually still profitable) game.
I'm not sure if this hasn't happened already but... if it didn't, why not just cut off the Asian branch of CoH? From what I've heard the game was a huge failure over there, and it would definitely reduce infrastructure and what-not costs.
  9. I haven't quite given up on CoH yet, though I certainly might give CO another shot if the sun does set on Paragon...
  10. Out of all the players named "Paladin" that I've run into in the many MMO's that I've played, you've been the only one to really live up to the name.
Best of luck wherever you go after this! (Should CoH's lights go out indeed that is!)

That's pretty much the impression I got from it!
Thanks for sharing, I hope they'll manage to work something out!
  12. Heya folks, recently someone showed me the demon girl that asks you to trick people into eating the candy, but we failed to complete her task despite talking to all the people outside.
Does anyone know how to complete this event?
  13. Aha, very good to know - thank you!
  14. Anyone know if there is a way to get Claim all to work if you have level 50 Incarnate rewards in there?
I find it incredibly aggravating that now after years they've finally added a claim all function and then the moment you unlock any Incarnate costume parts it all goes out the window. =/

A good story all in all though. I hope one of the (non-player) heroes rescues him.
    /signed

    Fellow deserves it!
Maybe we'll even see him in a mission at some point?

Could have sworn there were Rikti "Mages", so I fail to see why the
Lost would be opposed to the use of magic.

    3. I like the new maps. Cool use of lava.

    4. I do not like timed missions. Period. I was not able to complete anything
    before the timer ran out.

    5. Too many ambushes. The use of unending triggered ambushes needs to stop.
    2) Rikti Magi (Magus), the ones that show up on the Rikti Mothership Raid. *nods*
Not sure if they are actually mages though, they might be strong psychics.

    4) The timer's alright once you know what to do, I failed it the first several times as well.
The outcome's pretty much the same though (small clue on the redside and a small glimpse of someone on the blueside).

    5) I mostly just raced to the objectives to make the ambushes stop, but yes, if you stay to fight them off they can be obnoxious.

All in all I've very much enjoyed the new arcs though, cool maps and a nice intro to start the arc off with.
  17. Ouch, good thing I'm mostly busy tomorrow... x.x
And for those few hours that I DO need to cover... *eyes Fable 3 while muttering about not having a Diablo 3 beta invite*
Hopefully things will get better soon, since yes, there has been a LOT of unscheduled downtime lately.

DXP week or free PP's or -something-.... those costume codes are just a slap in the face to be honest.. a handful of people get something for what everyone is suffering for.. be better if you just laughed at us and be done with it..

Pretty much, and the actual one time I get lucky enough to get picked and actually win at the paper, rock, scissors system one of the mods was using last time, I get completely shafted and told to reroll because she wasn't paying attention - despite the fact that several people confirmed the roll was simultaneous (which led to getting jacked around for a good half hour, waiting while she came up with a different system several times until finally going home empty-handed).
So yeah, as far as I'm concerned they can keep their downtime "events".
  18. As already pointed out, the Volcanic aura was forgotten in the actual post. >.>
Except for the signature arc that aura is the only thing of interest to me (and one of the only two "new" things, since the others are promotions unless I'm mistaken).
I am glad to see the store being updated frequently though!
  19. While traveling the new Atlas Park I saw these and had an "Awww, I remember these!" moment.
It would be nice to see them get a revamp to go with our new age of Freedom, like maybe using them to list upcoming goodies to the store (with an in character twist of course), like having them talking about Longbow's latest hoverboards, the awesome new beam rifles Kord Industries is selling, ect!
Of course the Rogue Isles could have their own version of it, just make Recluse's big tv's clickable!
  20. Just curious, all the other ATs benefit much more from those bonuses than a Mastermind ever will since their damage modifier is so low (as are their actual attack powers with a few exceptions) and their primary damage source is their pets.
    Thanks though!
  21. I seem to recall that damage bonuses from sets (such as the fourth set bonus for Mako's Bite; +3% dmg) only affected the MM and not the pets.
Does anyone have any idea whether this was ever changed?
  22. Heya folks, anyone know whether the dmg proc of this Incarnate ability is influenced by Granite Armor's -dmg debuff effect? (and the Judgement abilities for that matter? x.x)
  23. Welcome to Virtue! Looks like I was on the Moonfire TF with you during the weekend (as Hellbound Phoenix).

Do you happen to know what happens if you're on a S/TF and it changes before you complete it?
Is the extra reward still granted since you started it on time or does it go back to default?
  25. Heya folks, I was wondering whether anyone knows what time the WST changes.
Just so I don't wind up doing a Tarikoss SF after it's already changed to the LGTF for example. x.x
