Base Items We'd Like To See, Mk. 2
I think they may have recently squared the Arcane Telepad footprint.
I put in my fourth Telepad after the last patch, and unlike all the others I can rotate it freely next to its neighbor. The proportions look off compared to its neighbor as well.
Will someone who has "old" (pre-patch) telepads and space for new ones check me? It hasn't affected my previously-crafted ones - it's just the newly-placed one that looks... different.

Is it worth posting here? Are the devs reading this thread?

Post a single criticism of policy and you will be AMAZED at how quickly the Devs respond.
I have seen six threads locked down in the last week, only one of which I was the OP for.
Not a good sign...

*grits teeth*
Dash, I realize you mean well, but if you get this thread locked by posting inflammatory rhetoric on it I'll be very cross.
We've been doing pretty well on this thread, and it's been sent to the Devs at least once by CuppaJo - who is NOT a Dev, but a Moderator. Let's not get the two confused.
Whatever difficulties you've been having on the boards, Dash, I doubt that the DEVS are behind it. You keep running afoul of the Moderators, and that's a separate issue that *probably* has more to do with the style of your writing than its content. But this is not relevant to the topic at hand. I really DON'T want this thread hijacked - PM me or start another thread if you wish to continue this particular discussion, bitte schon.
I'll be collating the entries again and starting a Mk. 3 thread soon - we need one now that the i7 features are in place. But it's a bit of work, so I hope folks will be patient with me. Unlike some, I don't spend my workdays at a computer desk - I have to work on this stuff after hours or early in the morn.

Supergroup Name Plaque
Originally suggested by: Don't know; might have been me but seems reasonable others have thought of it before or since
Category: Decoration
Customizable? Yes
Type: Purchased
Description: A large bas relief or engraved name plaque in various textures - marble, bronze, polished steel, semi-transparent glass - that would fit on a wall in the entry and/or conference rooms.
Limitations: It's just a wall decoration; you could have one in every room if you wanted to, but it's really just a vanity item.

I just built two arcane telepads on the test server, and they're the same non-square blocks that they've always been. They're SO close to being small enough to fit in one "square" of a room, but there's juuuuuuuuust a little hangover.

^^ note, I said "arcane made salvage items", raid porters don't fall under that..
o.o I went to test too and made a porter... seems the same... maybe they tested it recently and you got it then Ruin? and they reverted it back or something?

Mission Trajectory Tracker/Leyline Focus
Originally suggested by: Vishalicious
Category: Teleporter Auxilary
Customizable? N
Type: Unlocked/Crafted
Description: This auxiliary item is unlockable via an SG badge of some sort. The item attaches to a teleporter which does not have any teleport beacons connected to it. Using trace energy signatures, it allows that teleporter to establish a link to a specific area in space, resulting in the character using it to be able to teleport directly to the entrance of a mission.
Limitations: Because overland travel seems to be a desired aspect of gameplay by the development team, the character can teleport only to missions s/he has already entered. By doing so, characters are also restricted from entering missions in zones which they are not yet high enough level to enter.

o.o you can.. you DO NOT have to do raid (and can't, still, probably not till i8 at earliest) as long as you don't do the Item of Power (ie, Cathedral of Pain) trial.

How about doing something interesting and fun with the super computer? Like making it have access to sg only one off missions. Or making it a full on content that doesn't lead to forced activities. Or how about we could use it to contact our contacts?
My sg is jam packed full. Of the 75 toons in it we have two or three players who occasionally play in a pvp zone, not regularly-just occasionally.
I'm excited for the CoP tf just for the sake of seeing new content. However we won't be participating in anything that leads to a hero sg attacking another hero sg...that's just a ludicrous idea.
I would hope that the devs look at how many players regularly utilize pvp zones as opposed to those that don't and plan new content accordingly.

Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.
How about an SG-specific load screen when u or a visitor zones into your base. I know this would be rather limited but you could possibly customize the font your SG name is written in and feature your SG logo as well.
This idea came to me because the Base Entry Portal in our Entrance Room could only be framed on one side by a Small Arch based on our current configuration. I wanted to place an arch on either side, but found that I'm unable to do so due to what I believe is the placement of items in the three rooms connecting to the Entrance Room.
On Test, if I remove some of the rooms, I can place two Small Arches very close together, so that from above they are angled like the letter L. With the entry portal in a corner, this frames the entryway nicely, but adding items in the connecting rooms causes the arches to become invalid. They end up needing to be placed with a space between them, which I don't like, since it breaks the look of continuity between them.
Small Dual Arch
Originally suggested by: Vishalicious

Description: This item looks like the current Arcane decoration, Small Arch, except that it covers two adjoining sides, where the arch only covers one. The top of the arches may need to be angled inward slightly, to make it look nicer.
Limitations: Purely decorative.
Here are some images to help illustrate what I'm talking about:
Small Arches with a space between them (this is what I don't like... its the closest I can bring them together)

Wandering off duty Heroes/Villains

Limitations: It can be just eye candy but might be fun as a base raid tool.

Make floor tiles such as the white linoleum stackable so you can use them for actual flooring.
Fix the EZ Flooring so it's usable as a floor tile. Make its hit box smaller (16 feet square) so it will tile a floor, adjust its position so it aligns properly with walls (it's only a scale inch or two off), and make it stackable.
Stackable Arcane Pattern Tile
Originally suggested by: Pengy
Category: Decorative

Type: Purchased
Description: A large floor decoration similar in size and appearance to the Arcane Floor Pattern, but able to have things placed on it, and coded with a large enough 'flat' surface to serve as a decorative base for the base entrance portal.
They may have to model it without much vertical relief to make it work, I'm not sure.
Limitations: May support any base item no larger than the entrance portal

Item name Holiday themes
Originally suggested by: The Sleepy
Category: decor
Customizable? Y
Type: unlocked (special conditions)
Description: Holiday decor themes for bases. These themes have a linked "holiday SG badge" under the accolades section that is unlocked when an sg has had X number of their members take part in getting the badges/finnishing missions for the event while in SG mode (nothing too high, so as to not exclude the smaller SGs that might only have something like 10 ppl in them, or maybe linked to defeates of that holidays sig mobs). Upon earning this Badge, the SG would have access to a new category of base decor "Holiday" (or added to existing categories, a new one just seemed better for purposes of finding items) which would have the specific base decore items that match the event. This would allow SGs to decorate their bases to their own likings, while avoiding offending those who don't like said holiday by having things in public (ie, non christians having to deal with xmas trees in atlas square and the like, or offending those who don't celebrate halloween with massive pumkin patches).
As time goes on, extra holiday items can be added at the same events for the next yr. For example: for the first halloween set, add a couple types of Jack-o-lanterns, and maybe a couple other usual house decore items (you can get inspiration on what from stores in a month ^_^). Then when Halloween comes around the next year, add another jackolantern face/size, and maybe a spiderweb wall cover or something.. keep it up for several years in the same maner some ppl collect electric jack-o-lanterns and the game will have a very nice selection that won't be killer to make. If you do something that lets you recolor the light strings, the same decor item can be used for many different holidays, or just collecting the different ones.. (blue for example, useable both for halloween and Hanukkah, depending on shade of course)
If control of base music/a base jukebox is ever added, special holiday music could be added as well (probably easiest with Halloween).
Limitations: These theme decores can only be unlocked during the specific holiday events that they match.. ie, pumkin's from halloween, blinking tree/house/whatnot lights from the winter event, heart strings, cards, signs.. from vday. During the rest of the year, these items can't be unlocked, so a group has to wait till the event comes around again.
