Base Items We'd Like To See, Mk. 2
I just want to be able to have Arachnos Personnel sitting around my base. D:
I'd like to see the Telepads fitted with mounting brackets for the Beacons they serve, or at least be able to mount the Beacons on the walls behind the Telepads.
It's really a pain trying to move those huge telepads around and fit the beacons somewhere nearby so people can easily tell which one is which.
Also, why is the Arcane Raid Teleporter smaller than the Tech version? The Arcane one fits in a standard 2x2 Transportation roo, but the Tech one requires at least a 2x3. This just seems like sloppy design to me. Tuck in those Item Dimensions,, please, Devs.
And finally... either reduce the Prestige prices for everything or start increasing the Prestige awards, please. If we had actual bathrooms in these bases, odds are we couldn't afford toilet paper...

Hot Tub
Originally suggested by: mew, probably others
Category: bathroom
Customizable? why not!
Type: unlocked (sg members have collectivly spent 50 hrs in faultline)
Description: same hot tubs as found in the i8 faultline (the ones near the appartments). they give off a bit of steam and take up 2-4 tile spaces (might want a smaller version, or not). These are decore pieces and just fun to have for resting in, or napping near.
Limitations: o.o it makes your fur damp

Yeah or other thematic NPC's.
Maybe a group of "generic" heroes/villains (in supergroup colors!) doing the warm-up emote together. Or a token scientist looking intently at whatever you place him next to, and taking notes. Maybe a security guard pacing casually back and forth. Or possibly a guard bot hovering around a limited area projecting a small searchlight.
None of these NPC's need to have any actual defensive function, and could even simply "disappear" during an actual raid for the sake of convenience/simplicity. Or maybe count guards/sg-member NPC's as "pets" with simple attacks. (It's hard to picture "creating" people with salvage, but some of the mutation/natural salvage might suit it well enough. And, of course, there's nothing super-science or sorcery can't accomplish!).
And cage dancers from Pocket D. We need cage dancers.
It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
-- Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World
I got a front desk in my small SG lair and I could really use a receptionist to greet you once you enter the base with a couple customizable sayings if at all possible.
I just think it would be quite funny and a bit inviting to new members to the SG.
Also made from salvage a message board that you could leave messages for one another that anyone could access.
Item: Power Refinement Station
Originally Suggested by: Red Mongoose (Me)
Category: Workroom Item
Customizable: No
Type: Unlocked SG Badge, built by Salvage
Limitations: Cost of Use in Influence or Infamy
Description: The Power Refinement Station or PRS is built from various collected salvages and allows the user to refine their training in powers causing a refocus of their skills. The cost in influence or infamy is reflected in the stations ability to dispense enhancements to the user and dispose of enhancements no longer needed by the user.
How many times have you wanted to shift slots with out removing powers, or remove that last power and change it for another one, in the past you were stuck until you got a respec. This will make it easier to tweak the character along the way.
When you enter the station you get a screen that is similar to the powers management screen. In this screen you can remove and reassign slots from one power to the next. These slots cannot be assigned to new powers or beyond the limit of slots that power should have at your level. I.e. at level 20 you get stamina and at level 21 you can add two slots to it. So if you refined your sills at level 21 or 22 you could not put slots from another power into stamina unless you moved the slots you just placed at level 21.
Each moved slot costs influence or infamy to move and the system can replace the Enhancements with useful ones at the normal selling price of Enhancements. I.e. Taking slots misplaced in to defenses and putting them into attacks the PRS replaces the enhancements from defense to enhancements slot-able by the attack (damage, accuracy, recharge, endurance cost reduction) players choice on which and how many.
The PRS would also allow single power or pool power changes on equal level. I.e. Took Fly and really want Super Speed or Super Jump. Use the PRS to un-train the one pool for the other. Decide you would rather have the secondary at level X then the primary at that level then un-train one to replace it with the other.
Make it so that its cost prohibitive to do a full respec in a PRS but that simple adjustments can be done with out praying for a free respec or trying to find a good respec trial team.
With Respect,
Red.
Hallway Doors
Originally suggested by: Possibly someone else, but as far as I know just me... so far
Category: Hallway/decorative
Customizable? No, but different styles to match current styles (tech/sewer/arcane etc)
Type: purchased
Description: Sliding doors seperating rooms that fit in the centers of hallways. Similar to the clickable doors in door missions (e.g. Council bases, Oranbega, tech base 'airlocks'), base doors would be purely decorative and could either be automatic or clickable and will close again after you've passed through. Could add an element of surprise to a base raid (didn't know that turret was there, didja?) or could be purely decorative (I have a small SG base where the entry room is a sewer but it opens into a secret high-tech base, would be cool to have a moveable sewer wall as a 'secret' entrance to the main base)
Limitations: Can only be placed in the center of doorways (matching the possible mid-wall style change that annoys me) so as not to completely conceal the fact that there's a room on the other side, i.e. no hiding the IoP vault behind a false wall!

And to answer the question, "What do I do with all this extra Event salvage after Halloween?"
Pumpkin Shooter
Originally suggested by: Moi
Category: defense/turret
Customizable? No
Type: crafted - mid table
Description: A turret built from your remaining Halloween salvage (let's say 10 of each of the four types). Launches a pumpkin bomb similar to the ones Eochai throws, causing smashing damage with DoT fire damage thrown in. Evil laugh optional.
Limitations: Only limitation I can think of is the rarity of the salvage. If it gets destroyed in a raid you probably couldn't craft another if you don't have enough event salvage left.
I do not have anything to add to this topic but I wish to revive it in the hopes that the Devs look at it and consider its sugestions.
I know thread necromancy is bad but this is a topic I feel is too important to let die and more than a month since it saw a fresh post.

Yet Another Advanced Telepad Suggestion!
How about we make an optional reward from the CoP Trial a special piece of salvage that can be crafted into an advanced telepad i.e. one that has the same power & control requirements but supports at least 4 beacons?
I think that conceptually it fits since Rulululululu (sp?) obviously has some serious dimensional hopping tech plus there are more than a few SGs out there that would like to give the CoP a try but will never be in the situation to support raiding.

Item: Security Cameras
Function: Decorative
Limitations: None
Description: Just some small security cameras like we see in all the missions that could be placed on the walls around the base. Make them cheap like the other decorative items. I just want this little detail that seems to be a big miss when we can put in so much defense but no cameras? LOL
Item: Doorways
Function: Decorative
Limitations: None
Description: Want to put some lighting in the doorways. They are so dark and unless I am missing something we cannot put lights in the doorways or adjust the lighting in the doorways separate. The rest of the base is very bright but the doorways are so dim.
If these are things we can already do and I have missed it someone please tell me! I'm new to base editing but cannot locate a way to do these 2 things.
[u] Library wall style[u]
Originally suggested by: Sleepy Kitty
Category: walls/style
Customizable? y
Type: built in to base/no cost
Description: a wall skin (and only wall, not floor or ceiling) that basically makes the walls appear to be book stacks. From floor to ceiling the walls would be one large bookshelf (or rather, one large for each of the normal wall sections). If Possible, there would be two versions of this, one, a normal library look, and the other, one that was more mystic looking to fit in with the mystic control rooms.
Limitations: none

[u]Training Computer/Mystic Actualizer[u]
Originally suggested by: Korith
Category: Aux Control
Customizable? No
Type Crafted
Description The training computer allows a character who has earned a new level to do their training in-base. This can save time spent running to a trainer by providing yet another frequently-used feature in the convenience of the sg base.
[u]Stasis Box[u]
Originally suggested by: Korith
Category: Storage
Customizable? No
Type Purchased
Description Allows the storage and transfer of "charged" temporary powers (eg, Shivans, Wolf Whistle, Holy Shotgun Shells), those with a time-limited usage (eg, Wedding Band) and those with an in-game duration (eg, Sands of Mu). Automatic Temporary powers and Temporary Powers provided for the duration of missions may not be stored.
[u]Message Computer/Memory Crystal[u]
Originally suggested by: Korith
Category: "Storage"
Customizable? No
Type Crafted
Description The Message Computer is capable of storing simple text information for the SG. This computer essentially works as a notepad, allowing the SG to communicate without everyone being online simultaneously. Permissions for the Message Computer are the same as those for storage - being able to place in storage allows an SG member to leave a message. Being able to take away from storage allows an SG member to delete messages. (Recommended use: For bases with multiple architects, or architects who likes suggestions and feedback, this item would help in coordinating efforts)
I want the bar items from the winter even.
The bottles and what not from the bar at the ski hill would be awesome.
Always Drink'n could use some real booze bottles for our Bar
I'm going to PM Lighthouse to see if we can get this stickied.
o,o good luck. would be nice to not have to worry about this getting killed by the new 2 week thread zapper.

The point of this thread was to reprint the ideas from the origonal and continue them. As such bumping the origonal only creates confusion.
But thanks for helping.
Probably been said already, but I'd like to see...
Medium Generator
Category: Main Power
Customizable? N
Type: Purchased
Description: Produces 500 power for a cost of approximately 100,000 Prestige. Good for bases which need more than the Combo Power and Control Unit provides but cannot afford or do not need the power provided by the Regular Generator.
wasn't bumping it for that reason, just a note for anyone that cares to go copy stuff off.

Pipe Organ!
Originally suggested by: Sleepy Kitty
Category: Room Details
Customizable? sure! why not!
Type: Crafted!
Description: Looks ominous inside a base, what every evil lair should have. (and lets face it, bases are designed for cov, not coh) Can play a number of different Dirges depending on what the SG or person has unlocked.
Limitations: Music on it has to be unlocked through certain badges or missions that person/sg has done. Also, other than play music, this item is purely decor.

Archways
Originally suggested by: Sleepy Kitty
Category: pillars
Customizable? n
Type: craftable, unlockable, just as long as they're actually added!
Description: Same as the "small arch" currently in game, except this archway, like all items in the pillars tab, resizes to match the ceiling and floor of the square its put into. Can come in several types, but >< has to not have a large gapping space at the top of it between it and the ceiling.
Limitations: Like all things in the pillars section, its semi fixed to where it can go in the square its put into. In this case, when rotated (with right click) it swaps along which of the four edges its hugging.

NAME: Salvage as Items.
CATEGORY: Salvage (new)
CUSTOMIZABLE: No
TYPE: (special conditions) - must possess the salvage in question to convert it to a base item.
DESCRIPTION: This feature would allow heroes to convert their salvage directly into a placeable base item. e.g. Crystal Skull to sit on a desk, Crey Pistol to hang on the wall or sit on a table, Captured bio-samples to rest next to the microscopes already available.)
LIMITATIONS: Any number can be placed and they can be destroyed during a raid. Also, they convert directly from the salvage menu so you must possess the salvage you would want to place.
Zone Event/Monster Alert System
Originally suggested by: NovaFang
Category: Control Aux
Customizable? N
Type: Craftable; Beacons unlocked by badges
Description: This displays a graphic of Paragon City or the Rogue Islands broken down by zone. By attaching monster beacons (similar to teleport beacons) to the alert system, you can be alerted when specific monsters or zone events are in progress. The beacons are unlockable only if the respective monster has been defeated already by a SG member in SG mode (thus creating an SG equivalent of the badge; again, similar to the exploration badges unlocking teleport beacons). During an alert, the beacon and corresponding zone on the alert system would flash.
Statuary
Originally suggested by: NovaFang
Category: Decorative
Customizable? N
Type: Purchased; Possibly some crafted
Description: Purchase smaller versions of the iconic statues seen throughout Paragon and the Rogue Isles. It might even be possible to craft statues of the signature heroes/villains after achieving certain badges in SG mode.
Skylight/Glass Ceiling
Originally suggested by: NovaFang
Category: Room (High Ceiling)
Customizable? Y (Trim color; Glass tint)
Type: Free option
Description: Allows you to set the high ceiling to a see-through glass that looks up into open sky. The sky options would match Paragon's current time/weather or you might be able to select a sky that matches the Shadow Shard. It would not be possible to fly outside of the base, hence the reason this is a glass ceiling and not open air.
Limitations: This might need to override the upper lighting layer.
Natrual Decorations
Originally suggested by: NovaFang
Category: Decorations and Room options
Customizable? N
Type: Purchasable
Description: Wall ivy similar to the cable boxes and wires for tech-style bases; dirt and grass floor options; wall options of cut plank wood (similar to the Hirano floor pattern) as well as a true wooded version similar to the "walls" in Perez Park and Eden; ceiling options similar to tree canopy (again, like Perez Park); door options that look like bridges across water. Might also be able to have unlockable supernature things like pulsing crystals, DE emanators, floating will'o'wisps (non-critter type).
Cemetary Decorations
Originally suggested by: NovaFang
Category: Decorations and Room options
Customizable? N
Type: Purchasable; Unlockable?
Description: Mausoleums, tombstones and other cemetary type items for placement in base. Atmospheric effects similar to Dark Astoria's fog might also be unlockable after achieving certain badges in SG Mode.
Bestiary (Raid/Non-Raid)
Originally suggested by: 9thcirle
Category: Room Item
Customizable? No
Type: unlocked/crafted
Description: The bestiary would be a 1x1 display unit that would hold a sample of one of the many unique monster/alien types found throughout Paragon City. To unlock this badge each giant monster badge must be earned while in SG mode plus Heart of the Hamidon. This item may be crafted once the appropriate badges are acquired. This unit displays an example of one of the monsters/aliens seen around Paragon City. Example, Shivan Destroyer (Shivan), Man of War (Hydra), Small Octopus (Lusca) etc.
Limitations: Only one of each type of monster/alien may be placed. Raid version. During a raid the stasis unit may become damaged releasing the monster/alien stored within. This pet will attack the first character within its aggro range. The creature will despawn after 5 minutes.
Heres another thought.
I'd like to see a secure work room for salvage.
Name: secure workroom
Suggested by: Settish and my SG/VG on freedom
Catagory:Workroom
Customizable: no
Type: Base rooms
Description: comes in 3 sizes. a 2x2 plot a 2x3 plot and a 3x3 plot. First plot holds 4 bins, 2nd plot holds 8 bins 3rd plot holds 12 bins. This is a secure room. There is a security door that prevents everyone but the 2 highest ranks in a SG into it. This room cannot hold a anchor or a workbench or any weapons or a buff station. all it holds r bins. During a base raid the door can be destroyed. which is no big deal cause u cant access bins anyway in a raid. costs would be 50k,100k,150k in prestige for rooms, and there is only one entrance into it ever.
This was a idea that I and my SG/VG came up to prevent theft from any salvage or insps bins.
