After all the problems with the winter events, perhaps a little more internal testing will be a good thing.

That's why I wish the Winter event never happened. The devs wasted good programming time towards I7 for temporary content and all the bugs that came with it.

Shiney Badges!!!! *drools*
Mid-Feb just for the Features Update?
Jeez....everyone must be on Vacation til then I can't imagine its a manpower time sink to post 2 or 3 screenies and a few lines of text...
Hey that'll make it 3+ months since the last Update...I think that'll be the longest we've gone w/o an update.
One step closer to once every 6-8 months and having to buy them
Also why do people continue to blame the winter event for these bugs? Most if not all the bug we've currently got we got with CoV/I6 (or before). How did creating a pair of missions a temp power and 3 badges cause all these bugs? Maybe changes they had planned on making anyway and just threw into the Winter Event patch are what caused these bugs people are blaming on the event.
Still not seeing an abundance of bugs that weren't already bugging us before the Winter Event though.
We have 6 updates, game has been out 18 months. That averages one update per 3 months on live. This will be 3 and a half and it'll just be going to the feature page.
This means close to 4 and a half months til onto test and another month or more (depending on content) We could be looking at April/May before we get another update, including expanding level range for villains many of which are already into the mid/late 30s.

Because the massive lag and lost mapserver disconnection problems were few and far between until the snowball patch went in... yeah there were some of those problems when CoV launched, but not to that magnitude. Basically unplayable for almost a week.
Well, the ferries in in CoV don't crash the game anymore.

Issue 7 - Tentative plan for releasing the "Feature Update" to the website is mid February - so you might as well settle in for about a month of waiting unless a dev decides to drop some hints.
Of course you already know I7 includes 40-50 content for CoV, and as with every update more art updates, missions, and quality of life features. The other items in I7 will be revealed when we get the Feature Update.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ugg. Thats a long wait to even find out what might be coming in I7 (other than the requisite nerfs which we're seeing a preview of with these absurd stealth changes).
Hmm. Maybe I should take break after the end of the month.

Yes - I was busy scaring myself half to death playing F.E.A.R. and The Movies for a week after the regular holiday. So if you sent a PM and haven't heard back yet - give me a few days.

F.E.A.R. eh? What do you think of the game. I was thinking I might give it a try. Another game that I recommend you try out when it finally gets released is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Shadow of Chernobyl.

I really hope they'll give us some teasers before then. They used to be really good about getting people excited about the Issues. I mean, at this point, I'd be happy to get a screenshot of one of the zones or something close to this where details are just given on one feature rather than the entire Issue. Issue 3 was really great for this. We got something nearly every Wednesday until it was officially announced, now we rarely seem to get anything. The last Paragon Times we got was 12/18 and that was in reference to the winter event, the one prior to that was for CoV launch.
I'm not sure if this is because they've just been busy with CoV and then the holidays, or if they've just stopped seeing the importance in this regard. I just feel like they're not giving us enough to be excited about in between Issues anymore. I recall a few Issues where it was like we were hearing about the next one as soon as the previous one launched. I miss the ongoing story and Statesman's patented cryptic teasers.
Of course, maybe it also just feels like this since Issue 6, by most accounts, wasn't a "real" Issue since it was just a bunch of stuff from CoV, which makes it feel like even longer since we've gotten stuff.
I'm not entirely sure that 50+ content is really worth it. I mean, at level 50, we'd blow threw anything new and then be demanding more within a few weeks.
I just don't see progressing beyond 50 as that important. Too many other toon options to have me concerned about 50+ content!

Another month? I guess what they said about spacing Issues out more after CoV launches was true. It'll be nearly 4 months since our last Issue by that time. Hopefully this means it'll be a lot bigger though.

Man, if we gotta wait til Mid/end March til I7 goes live, that will be a huge stink bomb.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why?? Why on earth is it a 'stink bomb'? I mean, really I'd like to hear your reasoning on this.
B/c its all about trying to keep the momentum. Already with this news, I have sg mates looking to play other games to keep them busy. It doesnt take more than a month to hit 40 for most ppl, and ,many of us have two 40 villains. But when ppl look to other new games to occupy their time, you unfortunately lose membership, and accounts get deactivated. I just really he this Issue comes out before DDO.

Both I4 and I5 were released after around 4 month intervals. I3's Live server release was over 3 months after I2's. The 'new Issue every 2-3 months' company goal went out he window a long time ago.

A month! Maybe if you play every waking hour in 8 man teams set to the highest difficulty. What about story arcs? Badge collecting? Exploring zones? I've been playing this game since Aug 04. I have one toon in the low 40s, one in the low 30s, one in the mid 20s and a dozen or so below 20. Only able to play 3 or so hours a night. 4 - 8 hours if involved in a trial or TF. Some days not at all. A month! Do you watch dvds in FF to avoid all that annoying dialog and plot just to get to the sex and violence? Bet you complain about lack of content too. A month! HA!

Nevermind enjoying the ride - how about work, quality time with the person you rub naughty bits with, social obligations, that stack of unread books on the shelf, and all the stuff on the Tivo?
Really, it depends on how much you play, how much you concentrate on one villain, and so on. My SG has about 10 level 40s now, with one person having two.
I play a lot, and would probably be 40 already, but I've spent time PvPing on heroes, playing my scrapper, and playing some villanious alts.

Getting to 40... does not take long.
In CoV, that is. In CoH, it could take quite a while.

I been playing CoV since the launch and my highest is still only about level 23... mostly because I'm playing a few lowbies and my heroes keep caling back to me. Also because my Ninjas kill so [censored] slow and die so much soloing takes forever. And all my friends are either higher then me, lower then me, or playing heroes. *sigh*
